On a soccer note, French just announced that bus trip info to Evanston is now available on GoZips.com. My son and I are in!

Puff that chest out Northwestern. They're pretty good at "earning" the right to handouts in the Chicago area ...
-
With all due credit to whoever created middle-finger Zippy a while back ... a modified version with NCAA b-ball/NIT logos removed and NCAA generic logo inserted ...

I am sitting here in absolute disbelief. I feel like I did right after Penno hit 'the shot.' I just about want to throw up. Mack and Chryst had better be raising hell right now.
-
I'd be half-tempted to tell the NCAA to go ____ themselves for this one. NO way that game should be anywhere near Chicago. Why are they also telling us to forget about a possible round 4 home match????
-
You HAVE got to be freaking kidding me????? The NCAA is an absolute joke. This had BETTER not be true. Neutral site ... MAY-BE. CHICAGO??? NO WAY! I can't believe how pissed-off I am right now.

How well can you 'repair' turf when it's cold like this? Seems to me it would more or less be cosmetic and would not hold up very well once cleats started to tear into it. I would think Lee Jackson is done for the year.

TERRIBLE sportsmanship by the osu coach. I didn't think it was even possible to think less of that school down south. Good riddance.Superb win for the Zips! osu did have two shots on goal that Bush had to make nice saves on including one in the final minute of regulation.'... at a site TBD???' What's wrong with St. V's field again? Great place to watch a match (better than Lee Jackson) and the field turf seemed to allow Akron to play a relatively aggressive game. I wonder what other locations are under consideration?Nice turnout by the Rowdies and fans in general. The stands were very close to full with others standing along the fence on one end of the field.

LOVE the hustle! Not a second on the court where he wasn't totally into the game. Would definitely change MY shot if I saw him coming at me!LOVE the enthusiasm! Reminded me of a puppy dog ... happier than heck to be out there playing and so much so that I thought he was going to wet the floor a time or two! The bench totally lost it when Steve dunked, raised his arms and yelled as if Akron had just won the NCAA tourney!Enjoyed the post-game interview even if he may have taken Frenchy and Dunn's questions a little too seriously. I'm sure he'll relax and lighten up as time goes on. Great to have you here Steve and we're happy you had the chance to show us your potential. Keep working hard big guy!

HOW sweet is that! I'm afraid though, that tonight's game may come down to PKs as well. All bets are off when that stuff happens. Let's go Zips! Take care of business and cruise through three home games on your way to Texas! -

tosu soccer team bus was parked behind Max & Erma's in the Wal-mart parking lot in Montrose this afternoon. The driver had the engine compartment door open and had already finished pouring 5 quarts of oil into the engine and was checking the mile-long dipstick to see if he needed to pour any (all?) of the second jug of oil he had at the ready. Here's hoping the osu futballers leak some oil tonight too! GO ZIPS! -
He might be a few years older but his handshake couldn't be any more firm. Shook hands with him at the Buffalo game and asked him if he was confident enough to predict a Zips win ... "I didn't come out there to see them lose!" was his response (with a smile). Ask him a stupid question and he doesn't skip a beat.I'm glad he's still around and takes an interest in UA sports. Super nice guy.

6 OSU Players Suspended!
GoZips88 replied to tpsjugglerdude's topic in Akron Zips NCAA Championship Soccer
If the Suckeyes bring a busload or two of fans (as mentioned in the article), do a large group of Rowdies stay behind the Akron goal in the second half to keep Suckeye fans from messing with Bush? I've never attended an Akron soccer match where the visitors bring a large group of fans with them. Just wondering. -
We're a couple of good bounces away from being 3-8 (and those bounces came in games against crap teams Can't and EMU). We're bad.
-
Buffalo deserves to represent the MAC East. Congrats Bulls.French pointed out on the basketball broadcast tonight that the BGSU loss (killing Akron's slim chance of being MAC East champs) is not necessarily a bad thing. BGSU is now 5-6 and MUST beat Toledo AT Toledo next week to become the least bit bowl eligible. Even if BG does find a way to win to go 6-6, they'll still have to wait in line behind us IF we can take care of business and win our final two games. Time to go do what we have to do tomorrow in Athens - GO ZIPS!
-
Oh so true Mr. Bum BUT Time Warner has ME by said sack!
-
I'm in full 'take one game at a time' mode now. Bowl season? What bowl season? Time to take the long drive down to Athens and beat a very beatable 2-8 team. Get cleaned up, drive back home and start preparing for very beatable Temple. I lost my desire/chance to bowl 'window shop' when Akron lost to Cincy, BGSU, and/or Buffalo ... all at home and all there for the taking. I'm until at least the other side of the Temple game on 11/28. Will re-evaluate my emotions then.
-
That does look like an opportunity for Time Warner or Fox Sports Ohio to pick the game up. Would be nice if one of them would.
-
Great game, just like everyone thought it would be. Too bad one of the teams had to lose.Ball State 31CMU 24

Thanks Zips Win. Yeah, I was out of town for the Walsh exhibition game and didn't take the time to sift back through Walsh-related threads when we got back home. Totally unacceptable and I hope Mack is hearing it from others too. Thanks again.

thats embarassing...... and fitting!
