  1. 7K-10K tops. Rain and cool temps WILL hurt attendance unfortunately.
  2. I didn't make the BGSU game but the signal on 106.9 came in loud and clear down in Butler, OH. A couple of my cycling friends and I were camping and one of them commented "WOW! This guy REALLY gets into it!" on one of Frenchie's "TOUCHDOWNNNNNNN, AK-RON!" calls. My buddy is an osu grad and enjoyed listening to Frenchie's call of the game.I have to agree with many above that our trio works well together and sounds great. Thanks guys and keep up the great work!
  3. OU and Miami are a close second to Can't on the list of teams I can't stand. The way we've been playing, we need all of the buffer and cards to play we can get - GO TEMPLE!!!! Didn't realize they were on - thanks for the info.
  4. KD, Jeff Boals nice find!
  5. Screwed up? I beg to differ. Can't lost because they suck, remember?
  6. I was about 3 inches away from stepping into the path of a Metro bus underneath the old student center. Still gives me shivers. Sure glad all of those roads have been replaced with walkways and green space. As others have said, a TOTALLY different campus and college atmosphere now compared to the mid-80s when I attended. Both of our kids (10 & 14) will be attending UA and can't wait. Dr. Proenza and the rest of the University leadership have done a wonderful job creating a place young adults want to be. Enjoy your visit to Akron and try to enjoy the unique character and charm the dear old Rubber Bowl has to offer. The new stadium is really going to be something. We love UA and hope you and your son like what you see to! GO ZIPS!!!
  7. I've come to the conclusion that we have a transgender male Zippy ... originally created female, became male thanks to modern mascot medicine and fan outcry and simply uses the pouch these days to hide kids' hats, cheerleader pom-poms and such. Come on folks! Get with this diversity and inclusion thing! Love Zippy for who/what she-he is!
  8. TERRIBLE showing in bowl games last year. I sure hope that changes this year. Nice to have Ball State in the Top 25.
  9. Played all 40 minutes ... HEY, go easy on the big guy. That knee isn't going to last at that pace!
  10. How DO the Rowdies do it? No Dix or Q security around to take this one down. Pretty cool that it faces east ... betcha you can see it from the Can't campus!

  12. CK - In the spirit of your handiwork, is there a winch in the rafters at the JAR? What would a Blue and Gold crown and cape look like? Just wonderin' ...
  13. Excellent thread ... yes, THANK YOU players and staff. HUGE downer when we lose to Can't in anything, especially men's basketball and football. Great feeling walking out of their place on Saturday after bagging the W. Can't wait for the Edelman-less Flushes to walk into The Info next year - - "Flush, I've a feeling we're not in the Rubber Bowl anymore!"
  14. kind of like this guy?A lot like him. In fact, I would not be surprised to see a similar end game. Can't frozen in time, only to be thawed out to play 1-AA/FCS.... and continue to lose their nuts and create a real mess while doing so.
  15. Truly unbelievable that a flag wasn't thrown for interference. MAC refs suck ...
  16. Rowdies were well-represented in the general admission north end zone stands (quite a few other Akron fans here as well) and you could really hear them on TV and the radio ...The Can't student section was a little weak at the start of the game but filled a little more as the game went on. This pic of their section was taken right at kick-off ...I thought the home stands would be filled a little more than they were given the fact that this was a rivalry game. Pretty sparse in my opinion at kick-off and didn't fill too much more than this ...http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh279/d.../Image00003.jpg
  17. A lot of forethought when they put the stadium where they did ... all of the crap and pee yellow that fills that place only has to travel a block or two west to the sewage treatment plant.
  18. He does his sports talk show on Monday evenings from 6-7PM on Time Warner channel 14 (channels 35/29 - The Cat if you want to grab the signal out of the air). Love it when he goes on a rant. Usually opens the show by checking himself out on his in-studio monitor ... always worried how his shirt and/or hair are looking. Occasionally shows you his leg if he's wearing shorts. He wore a very dark - almost black - shirt one night and all you could see was his head against the black background of the studio (looked like a floating head). Sucks that he's an OU grad but he's definitely one of us now. Love ya Steve!
  19. I was just people-watching after the big win and ...
  20. Wow ... just watching the Bowser catch for TD on replay. WHAT a remarkable effort to pull that one in. Outstanding.
  21. Eastern Michigan just helped our cause by knocking off BGSU at BG 24-21. Go figure - EMU has been terrible so far this year.
  22. I can't believe I'm making the trek over to Can't again after that mess 2 years ago.30 - 17 Akron. Come on, Zips. DON'T do that to me AGAIN!Any freebies floating around out there? Daughter is last-minute addition to the day's activities. Don't want to give Can't any more money than I have to .
  23. (whoops ... sorry GoZips. Didn't see your thread)From UConn to Con U? I wonder if anyone from the Can't staff has contacted him yet? He's already got a record so that would make him a 4- or 5-star Can't recruit! UConn freshman isn't sure whether he will appeal expulsionSTORRS, Conn. -- Connecticut freshman basketball player Nate Miles told a newspaper Thursday night that he doesn't know if he will appeal being expelled from school after being arrested for violating a restraining order.Miles made his comments by telephone to the Connecticut Post. The Hartford Courant reported that Miles' guardian, Sean Patterson, said the 6-foot-7 forward was expelled following an administrative hearing Thursday."In my mind, he was railroaded today," said Patterson, a former youth coach who became Miles' legal guardian.A university spokesman refused comment, citing student confidentiality rules.According to court documents, the 20-year-old Miles was served with a restraining order on Sept. 22, after a woman claimed he had attempted to force her into having sex. He is accused of violating the order by placing a phone call to the woman less than 20 minutes after receiving it.On Tuesday, Miles was in court, where the case was continued to Nov. 25 and he was referred for counseling, which could lead a judge to dismiss the charges.Miles was academically cleared by the NCAA in June and enrolled in UConn for the second summer session. Miles, who attended five high schools, committed to UConn in November 2006.
  24. ... and they taste like chicken!
  25. I LOVE that our soccer program is one of the best in the country, try to make it to a game or two each year BUT will always have a hard time enjoying outdoor soccer like I do so many other sports. The only thing worse than watching the grass grow for 90 minutes, sometimes in less than ideal weather, is when the other team packs 11 guys into the box and dares you to find a way to get a ball through there. I know I'll take heat for this post from the true soccer fans out there but that's just how I feel. I'm an ugly American sports fan who needs a little more action/scoring!Congrats Zips on another win. Looking forward to another tournament home game or two!
