I am not sure why people are unable to accept that Can't is a good team. They were really good last year and they return all but one player. So why exactly are you surprised that they are ranked in the 60s?I would love to see them ranked even better than that...it will make beating them so much sweeter

We still had our patented scoring drought, but only a little one.The most impressive thing is that they had TWO very very highly rated players, and Sydney is a monster. And these are not MAC highly rated players, these guys compete for first team All American. To put it right back in their faces was awesome.But they didn't have Zeke, Q, and Rico, did they?

I understand and respect the public opinion about these issues and I have conversations with friends and colleagues on an almost daily basis without one of us insulting the others.Let me tell you that if I ever get the chance to meet with Dr. Pino or whatever his name is, and if he asks for my opinion of what he did, i will give him an earful.However, as an academic person, I will be really disturbed if his job is risked because he expressed his personal opinion about a political topic outside the class room.And by the way, I do not have any Palestinian roots and have no horses in the middle east conflict. In my book, Ignorance is defined as the situation when some one is so arrogant to think that his opinion is absolutely true and that he knows it all and he can judge others. Gozips is saying that more than a billion people in this world support a religion that fomented hate and treachery and doing that, the religion survived for 1400 years! He is also saying that the academic system, and the administration of Can't state and the education system in Ohio are wrong and he is right. Also the Ph D holding gentleman is now a piece of crap because he doesn't share his point of view about the political state of Israel. Our QB last year had an 85 rating, and had about 8 or 9 previous starts under his belt. Moore's rating just hit 110 after yesterday's performance, in his first season, with far less experience around him. And he has the ability to run. I know that following the heartbreaking loss to CMU, the popular thing may be riding the wave of bashing the coach and calling him all kind of names and stuff. I am however going to call things fair and square as I see them:1. Clayton Moore played a heck of a game and showed that whenever the line gives him time, he can throw. He is also getting a lot better at reading the blitzes and beating them. He is only a sophomore and is only going to get better.2. The Chisel is the best running back we had since Brett Biggs and he is only a sophomore.3. AJ Fox is better than all the kickers Brookhardt recruited, combined. And he is only a freshman.4. The receivers are still not great but they are showing improvements every game.5. The whole team is fighting every game till the last minute. They are still disciplined and motivated. I am fully aware that this team is 2-18 since Ianello took over, I don't like it. I don't enjoy watching my team loose every Saturday with 500 people watching in the stands. My question to you remains, why do you think that firing the coach and starting a new "process" will suddenly make things better?

I have these same exact thoughts Doug. Turning around a football program is really tough. Regardless of what me and you want to believe, we don't have that great of a football tradition at Akron. We have had multiple loosing seasons in a row and our fan support is abbysmal to say the least. Yet we expect Ianello to magically turn things around and start winning out. I never been a coach and i never recruited (or been recruited) before. I do however wonder what would Ianello tell a kid, with other FBS offers, to bring him to Akron? you'll get PT as a freshman? we have a nice stadium? that is all great and nice...but this will only get you to maybe outrecruit the can't states and the eastern michigans of the world. Quality kids will take a "not brand new" but packed stadium at Toledo, Temple, Ohio over an empty brand new one in Akron. They will also accept red shirting a year and maybe not playing their freshman year for the sake of winning and going to bowl games in their remaining years. Why do people feel that if Ianello is replaced by another guy, talented kids will start committing to Akron left and right? Or do you think that if AJ Price had a different coach, he will start catching the ball? or Marchese will be making his kicks? I am not Mrs. Ianello, i do not know the guy and I was not particularly impressed with the hire and I won't be upset if TW fires him tomorrow morning. It is howver foolish and naive to assume that eating his contract will make things better and we will start winning 10 games/year. The grass is not always greener outside your fence.

So was he let go from Miami? or he still had a job from which he walked away to "Volunteer" with the zips?I am not sure which scenario is worse.
