  1. Sorry! double post
  2. We had a guest who decided to join us to the game, so we had to stand at the ticket window to get the additional ticket. When i showed up, there were only two people in front of me. 20 minutes later, i was still in line and so were around 30 people behind me.The couple in front of me paid for their tickets by credit card and the guy asked them to hold on until he prints their receipts >> the printer is out of paper >> the printer is jammed >> they're getting more toner >> 15 minutes later: Sorry sir: we can't print your receipt!!!! The customer (in his 60s) was really upset and mumbled that this is nonsense and that he will never comeback My turn! I showed the ticket guy my season tickets and asked if it was possible for him to find me a third ticket in the same neighborhood. He replied negatively (which is fine) if it didn't take him 5 whole minutes to give me back an answer. Walking away from the ticket window, my wife hinted to the guy that if he keeps going at the same speed, the person at the end of the line will get in an hour after the end of the game But hey! this thread was supposed to be about the positives people
  3. I hate all the negativity on the board. So i will list the great positive things i enjoyed last saturday:1- talking to KD in the basketball tailgate tent (always a great conversation)2- talking to Josh Egner (who is looking great by the way) in the basketball tailgate tent3- Seeing Steve McNeese (who is back from Austria) in the basketball tailgate tent4- Chatting with a couple of Ak-Oldies 5- The bandSee...Ianello couldn't ruin it all.
  4. We had this conversation times and times before but let's give it another shot. I have no problem at all with an alum of both schools with double allegiances. In fact i will have a problem with someone who went to a school not backing up their alma matter. The problem is with people who are Akron students/alum who maybe never set a foot in Columbus and will die before having a chance to see a game at the shoe...but are nevertheless buckeyes fans and make fun of us "losers" who support the 1-11 team. Get it Buckzip? and gozipsgozips? it is not you...so please stop defending the retards. Yesterday, at the shoe, in the Akron section. Yes, you read that right. In the Akron section (a red and silver guy) sitting by me was telling me how he is from Akron, got his tickets from Akron. His daughter goes to school at Akron and she is in the band...The Akron band!!!!!!! Out of curiosity, i asked the guy if he graduated from OSU. He replied negatively. I asked him about how his daughter felt about him rooting for OSU against "her" team. He replied that his daughter (you know, the Akron student in the Akron band) is a buckeyes fan herself. Can you really tell me that you can't find anything wrong with this story?
  5. I agree. Ashley Cole was the first of this breed, to my knowledge anyway, especially when with Arsenal. Roberto Carlos (Brazil/Real Madrid) was the first of this breed 15 years ago.
  6. Terrible idea. Here is why: 1- Tressel will never coach a non BCS team 2- We have a coach for the next 4 years 3- We are not Can't state. They hire cheaters, we don't.
  7. Do we know where are we going for a tournament? can't make travel plans too soon.
  8. Me and the wifey are heading there. This is our first time in Ohio stadium so i have absolutely no idead where i will be. Any hints/suggestions are welcome.
  9. If i remember correctly, new members of the board are listed in red. All their posts (the first 5 or 10) are pending approval. This was started to limit spam and ads. Anyways, welcome on board Bardo.
  10. GoZips, could you elaborate on this statement? Thanks in advance! Bump Dear Blue & Gold, Apparently, our friend GoZips has nothing to elaborate on. He just writes stuf like that whenever he runs out of arguments. It also makes him feel smarter and more knowledgeable than everyone else.
  11. Am I missing something here? why is everyone acting as if the zips will never get one of the top 2 seeds? The MAC is changing the format to get us? Really!!!??? gotta love the conspiracy theory The MAC wants to have more well attended games...yes that includes regular season games. And if a team takes the whole season to gel, well they have to pay for it. The last seeded team can still win it all, they just have to win 5 games. So the Ohio bobcats of two years ago would have still been the champs. This is not designed to get us or the bobcats. The MAC's main motivation is better attendance and more $$$. As a fan, i like this because it extends my "significant" college basketball season from 3 days to 2 months. Here's for the day when the zips' significant season starts in November. Could it be this year?
  12. I like it!. I hope this will reduce, because it won't eliminate, the nonsense talk of: the regular season is just warmup... and only three games in March matter.
  13. I cannot disagree with anything you said. Just like you, I am trying to (force) my self to get excited about football. However, you selected a very bad time to start this thread. I just don't see any good that can come out of this discussion at this time. This is our team for now...we'll have this discussion in November.
  14. And Gavin didn't win a national championship
  15. I have seen Reggie play HS bball since his sophomore year and he has always been a man amongst boys. Comparing him to Nitro may not be the most accurate thing because although they may have the same height, hair, and shooting ability, Reggie is much wider than Nitro. He has Romeo Travis and Chris Mcknight's shoulders. If Reggie can grow another inch or two in his senior year (very probable), we may have another Romeo Travis (with a better slashing ability) in him.
  16. I would disagree. At 6' 5", and judging from is Jr season stats, being from Dunbar, the kid isn't a project. He's ready to rebound now.6' 5" is a really common size in the MAC. For him to commit in July means we really wanted him. I'd expect a double-double average from him in his upcoming senior HS season. I know KD has been searching for "The Next Wood/Travis" for a couple years. Akbar looks to fit the bill. The MAC has a tradition of small 4-spot players. Coach Jim Larranaga, when he was at BG had one of the toughest guys I can remember under the boards. If Akbar can be as tough as him, the Rowdies might be chanting "Allahu Akbar!" Awww! I'm so disappointed! I was looking forward to hear the Rowdies chanting "Allahu Akbar"
  17. Vertically or horizontally?Good catch captain ...I guess you never stop growing horizontally although I personally shrink horizontally during the summer.
  18. If the kid was 6-3 in his Soph year and 6-5 at the end of his junior year, I have to belive that he will be more than 6-5 when he plays for the zips, right? It has been a while since i stopped growing but i believe you don't stop growing at 17.
  19. I am sure the new AD will step in hard and make the tough but right decision of suspending this felon for multiple minutes... from practice of course. After all, no one died and you can't blame the kid he was drunk and high and...
  20. So with a d-league basketball team in Canton...I have to believe that some basketball fans will be heading south on I-77 to watch games. Would that hurt our already abysmal attendance figures?thoughts ... ideas?
  21. Leave can't alone...they're too busy collecting their reese and peanut butter trophies.
  22. CG transfered from UMB not Loyola-Baltimore.
  23. At the moment, the easiest comparison to Zeke in the NBA in my mind would be Ryan Hollins. The guy got size, can run, and yeah... That's it. With 2 more years of practice, Zeke should be a better shot blocker and will have a higher fg percentage. Then we will talk.
  24. Guilty! Right here! Yes, losing a few mac games is absolutely unacceptable if we want to be what we claim we want to be. KD can be the second best coach in the history of the university (after Porter). We have no better option as of now. No one wants him out but last year, this year, and in the future...loosing to RPI 200 and 300 teams is UNACCEPTABLE and will always draw criticism.
  25. Do we know yet where are the zips going for their tournament part of the schedule? Daytona Beach and Vegas were great trips. I am curious and excited to see where we will go this year.
