Yaz, you think your radio talk head experience is frustrating? get this. I was traveling today for work. I am wearing a Blue zips shirt, under a Blue zips jacket with a zips hat and my phone cover is a blue zips cover. I get out of the connection plane in Atlanta, GA and the guy in the terminal is directing me (and every one else who was deplaning) to the nearest TV because: "THE GAME HAS STARTED". Me in surprise: which game? The guy: "OSU vs MSU Me: who cares? The guy: I'm sorry, I tought you were from Ohio!!!!! Fast forward to the final destination. I am getting a rental at enterprise and the guy looks at my Ohio License and goes Guy: that was a tough loss today Me: I am not a buckeye fan!!!!! can you not see what I'm wearing? Guy: Oh I'm sorry! you're a penn state fan.

Absolutely correct, it is all about the expectations. The goal in the future should be playing a full season instead of the 3 games in March. We need to put ourselves in a situation to make the tourney even if the ball doesn't bounce our way in a game like today.

While Can't and Buffalo should be reloading, OU and Toledo should be really tough. I can't believe that OU had no seniors on that team.

Say what you want about the NIT. Truth is, we keep talking about getting respect and getting an at large bid for the Mac. Here is a chance to earn some respect. Win the NIT or get to the garden at least and things will be much easier next year

These 2 teams will be very very good next year and the year after. I can't believe that Toledo is playing with only freemen and sophomores. I think their coach should have been the coy.

I voted WMU because it feels like we knock them out of the tournament every year on our way to the finals. It won't feel right for someone else to kick them out of the Q this year Also, the earlier Can't get's out, the less chances for a post season they have.

For Buffalo and Can't, anything but the MAC championship should be a disappointment. They are loaded with seniors and next year should be a rebuilding year for both of them. I envy fans who can sugar coat things and feel good about their teams no matter what. I know I can't.

I saw Reggie McAdams today as his Elida HS had their district game right here in Ada. In this game, Elida beat Willard 72-46. Are you ready for Reggie's stat line? Here we go: 30 pts (including 6-11 from behind the arc) 5 rebounds 3 Assists 0 Turnovers 6 FREAKING blocks 4 steals A journalist at the media table was saying that the last time anyone had a stat line better than that in D2 OHSSA was a kid from Akron's STVM in 2002. Heading to the game, I was debating whether or not I should wear my zips colors since I sit at the officials table and I should be "unbiased". Unbiased shmunbiased - I eventually made the right decision to get all decked out in my blue and gold which earned me a smile and what could be an eye wink from Reggie as he came to the table to check in. After the game, I congratulated him and told him that I can't wait to see him in B&G. He said that he was very excited about it too. I really hope that KD made friends in Elida, that team has another (younger) D1 talent that he should keep an eye on. Dakotah Mathias a 6-3 sphomore (wow) had a 20 pts, 4 rebs, and 4 assists.

Two weeks ago, I posted in a thread asking to build a statue for Alex in front of the JAR. My feelings have not changed since then.

Congratulations to the coaches, players and other staff members for a great achievement. However, hilltopper, they didn't yet exceed any expectations. The expectations level are at winning an NCAA tournament game.

Now we're talking. These are the X and o plays that I feel KD must be drawing. Why do we see a Rico to Zeke pass inside the paint on a broken play once every 3 games and we don't see it few times a game right off a time-out? I cringe every time I see Zeke posting up 12 feet from the basket and asking for the ball. I wonder, who draws this play? and for what? for Zeke to get the ball and throw a sky hook shot, which he makes at a rate of 10%?

The key in the second half was keeping Nitro and Harney on the bench. Harney traveled 3 times in 3 minutes in the first half and Nitro, well... It is sooo much better when KD plays the hot hands rather than being loyal and family oriented and nice. Being nice doesn't win championships!

This second half was so necessary at so many levels. Now we have a guaranteed postseason appearance and most importantly we are on the easier side of the bracket. I didn't want to see Ohio or Buffalo on Friday. Everyone else (including Can't) should be much easier. What's the over vs under line on the number of travels the zips will get called for tonight?

I've been crying for a big men coach since the departure of coach Boals. In recent games (ORU, OU, and Buffalo) I am starting to feel that Zeke is a freshman. Totally lost on defense, no boxing out, and can't make 7 footer.

Because we are not worthy of an at large bid. We lay an egg every time we go on national TV and we can not earn the respect of a national audience. Committee members and sports journalists do not watch our games with NIU and EMU and Ark-PB. They watch our ESPN games against ORU and OU. Any committee member or national media /poll taker who was rooting for Akron or voting for them is now the laughing stock of their peers. They will learn their lesson and never do it again.

From where exactly in my posts did you get that conclusion? I said it is all about $$. If it is relatively inexpensive to produce and people wanted to see it, they will do it. TW realized that, his department produces their own show on campus at no cost to STO and pump some ads in it, and out of a sudden, cleveland doesn't hate Akron all that much. Some people identify the problem and try to find a solution that works for everyone, others just sit back and believe that there is nothing we should do because "they" just simply hate us. I am glad that UA administrators seem to be from the first group.

Unfortunately, we are not as good as we thought we were. The conference lost a lot of respect so our 11-1 conference record is not that impressive and neither is our Miss St win. Our losses to Valpo and CSU are looking really bad and the loss to ORU will hurt too. I am affraid that if we win the MAC, we will get no better than a 15 seed and have a very tough matchup. I am sorry if I sound like a downer, the reason I do that is because I will puke the next time I hear fans talk about the NCAA hating us and the committee's conspiracy to get Akron. You know what is even worse? when KD complains to the media about his team not having the respect and not being considered in at-large consideration. You EARN respect on the hardwood, you don't BEG for it in the media.

Outside of Rico and Serb, everyone seemed a little intimidated and scared a bit. May be too much was at stakes, so I can see the nerves of the first year zips being a factor. However, Q, Zeke, and Nitro had no excuse. And speaking of Nitro, he must be really ashamed of his performances as of late.

Akron needs a big guys coach. Dambrot cannot teach big guys and Boals replacement doesn't seem to be doing a good job. Smaller guys exposed Zeke big time today. Tree did not have a great game either. ORU bigs (although not that big) were trained to box out, rebound, and take charges. Our bigs did not even defend a back door or a pick and roll. This is not to say that the loss is totally on the bigs, not at all. But there will be days when your shots are not falling, you should not have days when you don't box out or do the right things. Also, if I was king, I would make Nitro pay back his scholarship and use that money to build a statue for Alex in front of the JAR. Alex's box score may not be that impressive, but if you're watching the games, you should know what this guy means to the team.

The horizon league is titally screwing us. Those losses to Valpo and CSU are looking absolutely terrible now.

The TV stations in Cleveland (just like everywhere else) are businesses, they go by viewers ratings and ads money. When a station in Cleveland does not cover the zips it is simply because they didn't think that sending a crew down for a 45 miles trip was not cost effective, not because of a conspiracy of not acknowledging the existence of Akron. Also, B&G, how do you feel about STO (a station located in Cleveland and owned by the Cleveland Indians) broadcasting so many Zips games and most importantly the zips show with KD?

That's a different story. Anyone can pick the team they like to root for. I am merely saying that there is not conflict between supporting akron and cleveland.
