    Here's my favored eventuality (fingers crossed to avoid bad karma): Men and women come to the Bay Area, with regionals in San Jose (mens) and Palo Alto (womens). It was at Maples Arena in 1998 that I saw the only 16 seed defeat a #1 seed (Harvard over Stanford).

    I'm really p'o'ed that the WAC and other nondescript conferences get their women's BB tournament final on the ESPN Family, but ours can't. What's the # for the MAC Commish?

    No question that we will be the favorites to win the MAC's automatic berth. I also expect Toledo to be an at-large with their 27-3 record, and recent national ranking. They should be a 9 or 10 seed.

    As it ends up, the Ball State record was correct. They were just 3-10 in OOC action -- with several bad losses.
