    Sorry, but you'll have to count Z.I.P. among not just the angry, but the demoralized bracket. We had sooooo much going for us, then it came crashing down. I'll be rooting of course for the kids, but with us having to play one of two teams we've recently lost to in the semis, while OU gets the winner of two losers, its advantage Ohio. I suspect our run of MACCs is about to burst. But let me just add, this is also intended as motivation to all who read this post. (I'm fighting to earn minutes off the bench for akzipper and skip-zip)!

    And guess who Hannah's Orrville HS coach is.. This might explain in part why she is becoming a Zip. For you younger folks, Mark holds Akron's school record for 3-point shots made. And ironically, his father was long-time coach at Orrville's rival, Wooster where Mark matriculated. edit: After re-reading, it appears that it may be Mark Alberts Sr. who is Orrville's coach. Anyone have closer perspective than me (5000 mi.).

    The stadium was originally designed for baseball -- the PCL Timbers. It's also home for Portland State football (GoViks, an alma mater mio). I think it was redesigned when the MLS came knocking, but they always get it wrong in PDX. When I was a student they built a field on campus for PSU women's soccer, and it was built so small it ended up as a football practice field, and not even wide enough for a full FB field, so PSU has to play soccer at a HS field. I'm making plans to visit the Northwest this spring, and hoping to take in at least a game in Portland (May 2 vs Revs, maybe), and will be looking at Sounders sked around that time. Hey Bisbee, I might look U up!

    Looks as if we have an excellent chance of playing Ball State in the semis-finals. That's definitely better than having to play nationally-ranked Toledo first.

    Eight hundred and seventy nine (Need a gaping mouth emoticron for input here)? This harkens back to the not-so-good-old-days when Keith Dambrot and Coleman Crawford would fight it out for bottom-dweller status in the league. While they are two of my favorite people, the memories give me chicken skin!

    LOL! I don't get onto Bigsoccer much (if ever) anymore, but there used to be a thread annually dedicated to this subject: How long will it take certain universities to announce their classes? I was just looking at Topdrawer's recruiting list and noticed that it shows another new goalkeeper for the class of 2013, Jonathan DeMoya from Baltimore Bays club. This was the first I had seen his name, though I may have misssed something on here, if it was mentioned. About how many keepers are on the roster now?

    Wow! Didn't expect that -- at 59. The Bath Township-based company now employs more than 4,000 in three states and 1,460 in Summit County, including at its headquarters off Springside Drive and at a facility in Green. Amazing he didn't outsource the business to the Phillipines or India yet. Anyone know what the future prospects hold? Does it still rely on the televangelism biz? I guess I should say "Thanks" for helping out my alma maters, Green and UA. And I'm grateful that I never was called by him at dinner time or any other time.

    Thanks for the correction, ZipIt. I knew they played the 8-9 game, and thought Braun's team was the higher seed. Unfortunately the only story I found didn't specify. In any case, that EMU team was IMHO the best MAC squad since Akron's been in the league. Dials and Tolbert were beasts, and then there was the little guy. I do have to disagree with your finish though -- the reason they can't be an at-large is because they'll be no more than a 12 even if they win out.

    YES! Love the image. But more so, how Caleb's personnel actions paid off the final 45. Kimura is a well respected MLS journeyman, and at the time I was surprised CP let him go. It's getting harder to doubt Coach Porter. As the announcers said (and I thought Chris Sullivan was excellent BTW), this Port(er)land team has a completely new attitude.

    This is amazing, but the CBS Gametracker I was watching said the same thing! I was texting the 19 game streak (YES!, Z.I.P. has learned to text!) when the OT score showed up on the bottom line of ESPN during the G-Town - UConn game. WHATINTHEWORLD??? Thank heavens we were allready up by six by then...

    I just want to say "Thanks!", and kudos to akzipper. You sir, deserve the game ball for tonight's performance. It was your negative attitude that carried the team to victory tonight. We could not have gotten this victory if it were not for the motivation you provided. We (especially Coach D) are endebted to you for all the locker room clippings you have provided all this season. Akzipper is surely on the way to earning MMOY (MAC Motivator of the Year)! Now please don't dilly-dally in telling all about the trap awaiting the team when they arrive in Buffalo. And even if they pull the surprise, another win is just one more victory against the MAC -- one of the worst conferences in America! This team has GOT to up it's non-conference schedule! (Just a little material I've collected for your future use).
