from what I heard, the offer Akron made was in the 7 digits. Does knowing Tom Wistrcill strongly went after Jim Tressel save him from his very poor decision hiring Ianello?

BTW, the guy that wrote that Canton story did not do a good job on his report. That's why it's a blog Error #1 - He assumed Incision is not used for high profile meetings. Error #2 - He made a statement about where Tressel was without a single mention of evidence. Error #3 - He did not quote his anonymous source, and is referring to his source's opinion that doesn't specify whether his source had a direct conversation with Tressel about this topic. You could assume they had a conversation about college football, and he made an assumption based on that without any mention of an Akron job. That blog is very poor evidence that the Tressel - Akron thing over.

+1 The Canton report has too many flaws to crush my hopes. Plus, Tressel was on campus Saturday, 100% positive on it. I don't get your point about him being on campus? He was at an Ohio University game earlier this year. And he was at a Can't State game too. He was also at a Youngstown State game. He was also on the campus of Ohio State on Friday. He has been on many campuses in the state of Ohio. And knowing the man that Jim is, I'm sure he wasn't of Robs turf the day he got fired. That's not who he is. I'm sorry you don't share the same hope that I do here. Good news is, we wont have to wait long to find out the truth. I'll sleep like a kid that goes to bed before Christmas.

bobbyake still hoping against hope! Why not, so far the offer doesn't seem to be a rumor at all. I honestly have not been this excited about Akron football. The possibility. How is there a 0% chance if Akron presented Tressel with an offer to think about? If we don't find out anything tomorrow, I'll move on and hope we don't get another assistant like the guy from Toledo. Paul Winters would be a good 2nd choice here.

you have to admit though, the Tressel on campus rumor did draw a lot of attention. Enough attention to make an offer denial public? One way or another, you would think Akron or Tressel would come out and set the record straight. The attention this has drawn should be enough to get that.

He started the whole Twitter rumor, fanned the flame, then sat back and mocked as Zip Nation devotees hung their hearts out in the hope that, for once in this sorry football program's existence, something good was actually happening. I expect WAY more from a college guy with some actual responsibilities at the school. He played all of us for idiots, then bragged about his Twitter escapades on FB. If some of you are fine with that, more power to you. I don't have time to waste on the immature antics of a guy out for a cheap laugh. This whole thing is getting quite asinine. Are you quoting the goofball from twitter who said Akron offered 6 million over 4 years? I have some swampland in Arizona to sell you if that's where you're coming up with info. People are making up BS, broadcasting it on Twitter/Fb on purpose, and then laughing. This includes some of our own. Time to stop monitoring and sit back and wait to see what happens like I did with our last homerun. It's too bad some people are ruining it..but bobbyake is 100% right on an offer being made. Hopefully that one can be confirmed by the university, because otherwise it would be impossible to prove.
