  1. expect at least 2 or 3 more goals in this one.
  2. If UNC wins, my bracket is guaranteed at least a 3rd place finish. Possibly 2nd if Charlotte wins it all.
  3. right now, Charlotte looks like the better team if this goes to overtime.
  4. What was that? another commercial break while the 2nd half was still going?
  5. Looks like the 49ers supporters. Disappointing after finding out this is a Minor League Baseball stadium. Holds 10k+ they have bleachers on the camera side stretching the field. That's where the supporters are and it doesn't look bare.
  6. I wonder if that Creighton player ran to the locker room to take a #1 or 2
  7. the crowd for this game is starting to fill in, possibly 6k or more here? I can hear one of the sides support groups and they do not sound bad.

  9. All 3 games will be streamed on ESPN3 and televised on EPSNU. Anyone up for a watch party somewhere?
  10. University of Akron men's team averaged 3,543 during the regular season. The Lady Zips averaged 467. The PDL averaging only 186 is a sign that they did a poor job spreading the word about their program.
  11. I went ahead and put together the stats for the Lady Zips:
  12. Matt Foldesy was the captain of the St. Ignatius team that won the state championship this year.
  13. Interview with Alfred Koroma Goal by Alfred Koroma Goal by Matt Foldesy (This guy looks very good)
  14. That's the part I've been trying to figure out. Hard to believe Coach Porter miscalculated Speas' potential to contribute to this year's team, but it's possible. It could also have been that he didn't fit Porter's style of play, could have been that he left with a chip on his shoulder and used that as motivation to get better, could have been that whoever Porter pictured playing ahead of Speas this year just didn't live up to expectations, could have been any number of things that aren't obvious to anyone who wasn't part of the decision. But the new recruiting class and thoughts of next year's team helps to erase memories of the guy from last year's team who may have made a difference this season but who "got away." What a great position to be in to "only" be a sweet 16 team after losing someone who might have made a difference. I don't think it's that difficult to understand how Ben could end up at a school that did better than us. He had the credentials - highly rated coming out of high school, played in every game while with the Zips, and experience in 2 previous College Cups. Any coach who was looking for just that 1 piece with Ben's abilities to complete his team would have been interested...UNC, in this case. That Caleb thought Ben didn't quite fit his style of play easily could have been why Ben left. Caleb said several times that former players who didn't fit his system were doing well elsewhere. At any rate, I don't share the animosity toward Ben that some seem to have due his leaving. Sometimes a person has to be a little selfish and put himself first if he wants to achieve his dream. I agree, but it's hard to count him as a former Zip. Not sure how others feel about transfers, but I only consider players former Zips when they move up to the pros early or graduate. When Ben Speas players in the MLS, I'll consider him a former Tar Heel

  22. ESPN's soccer coverage isn't that bad if you have ESPN3.
