Your vibe is not correct. I am not blaming you. The problem was here way before you got here. As for the student body...you are correct. However, UA is a commuter school, so student body and community go hand in hand. They were raised to not care about UA all while strolling through campus with a nut on their shirt. I used to be that guy, so I know.

George, I am not blaming you and I am not making a statement about your personal opinions of the team or coaching staff. I understand that you get your marching orders about where to dedicate coverage. This, in my opinion, stems from years of apathy at the ABJ and the community in general. It is the fault of the university, media and community. I don't think anyone expects you to come in with some sort of magic wand and write the team into the communities hearts and minds.

I am just curious to know how you determine the correct coverage amount for zips athletics. Do people write to the ABJ and complain of excess zips coverage and a lack of OSU and or Browns coverage? I may be incorrect, but I typically am of the mindset that people for the most part let the media tell them what is newsworthy and in demand. The lack of zips coverage in their hometown market gives the public a perception that it isn't newsworthy or worth paying attention to. You may say "their record stinks so nobody cares" and I will follow that up by saying that the program probably wouldn't be in that situation if they had the backing of their alumni and community.

I will be there -
Bowling Green looks awful and is being thoroughly dominated. They look ridiculously slow.

That is hard to believe. I would think that all of the new freshman on campus would be there for sure.

I get what you are saying, but when the local newspaper isnt interested in covering you, why would the local community think that it is worth paying attention to? It obviously isnt considered "news" by the ABJ or they would be covering it. They spend a lot of time publish a lot of garbage that nobody cares about. It is one reason that many newspapers are failing to stay afloat.

These people pay no attention to anything outside of the power 5 conferences. Just sit back and enjoy the "upsets". : )

???? There are 11 guys over 250 pounds. I dont want 15 fat 300 pounders. Give me the 250-275 pound guy that can move and throw in two or 3 stout guys for the middle. The MAC isnt exactly a pound it down your throat conference.

Very sad news. Thoughts and prayers to his family, friends and teammates.

6 of us got seats in section 111.

It looks like each school will only get $650k per year. I now agree with Keener. That amount of money simply isnt worth destroying the game day experience for the players and the fans.
-
I understand what you are saying, but I doubt we could ever get the attendance bump on a Saturday evening to make up for a potential 1-2 million a year ESPN deal per school.

Maybe it isnt all bad... http://www.ubbullrun.com/2014/8/18/5763436/within-two-weeks-mid-american-conference-and-espn-television-deal

Pohl was running wind sprints at the end of practice, so his wheels are definitely fine. I am not sure why they were all held out. I have a feeling that their spots are already cemented and Bowden knows what we saw.....if any of those get hurt we are screwed. Why risk it? Boyett is the big 6'7 left tackle we signed this year from a junior college.

I am not sure what scrimmage the zip football twitter feed was watching. Woodson looked absolutely dreadful. Hirschman didnt look much better. The quarterback, however, that did look impressive in his one series was Tra'Von Chapman. That kid is legit and looks big time. MTB didnt look very good. He rarely got open and he had several drops. None of the receivers really did anything of note. Pohl, Chisholm, Hundley and Boyett didnt play. The defense looks unbelievable. They absolutely manhandled the offense the entire day. The D-Line is stout, athletic and has depth. Mizell looks like a different player and the secondary actually looked pretty impressive. As for players that jumped out to me besides the Browns and March's, etc..... Mizell - His body transformation is startling. He is lean and mean compared to last year. Brock Boxen - He is only a freshman, but he is built like a senior. He is listed at 275 and he looks every bit of it. He was bull rushing double teams back into the backfield. Nmesoma Okafor - Looks like he has added about 15 pounds since the spring and he will contribute nicely to add depth. Se'Von Pittman - He is a man out there. He will call for double teams on many occasions and that will definitely help the other DL and LB's roam free for tackles. Anthony Clark - Didn't play a lot, but he is another guy like Boxen that has legit size and talent right from the get go. Nordly Capi - He is going to be a wrecking ball. Fast, looks like he added some new moves to the quarterback. As you can see, I am talking almost exclusively about the defense. I hope the struggles on offense today were due to several starters being out because they looked terrible. In other good news, Johnny Robinson and Donte Williams are back with the team. Williams played today and looked good. Robinson just got cleared and is going through his early camp mandates, ie..; only helmet before pads, etc..

Is there another scrimmage this Saturday? If so, what time?

HD tv and internet webstreams are killing attendance. Most people simply find it cheaper, easier and more enjoyable to sit at home and watch the game in the comfort of their own home. NASCAR is a great example of how this has affected attendance.

I am not offended by his tweet, I just think it was pompous.
