  1. To me, Bowden ball means winning. I couldn't care less about style....give me the damn W.
  2. I think the quarterback situation is extremely troubling, but I am becoming just as concerned with the in-game management for the last 2 weeks. We have been out-coached badly during these games. Our offense is beyond predictable and opposing offensive coordinators are starting to make the perfect calls against our defensive formations. This is a disturbing trend that I noticed during Bowdens first year as coach. We did do better during the 2nd half of last year, but our schedule also matched us up with the doormats of the MAC, sans Toledo.
  3. According to Kyle Pohl in the plain dealer he felt 100% by mid last week. I am with GP1 that Bowden just wanted to use this as an excuse to see what Woodson could do as starter.
  4. I am not going to say names, but I absolutely know from a credible source that he was cleared.
  5. Sad enough....it is already free to any UA student.
  6. I dont care if it is 36-35....just win baby!!!
  7. Last time I checked, we are 8-3 in our last 11 games. We gave Michigan a scare when nobody thought we had a chance. We played right with Penn State and beat Pittsburgh. We have the most talented team that we have ever had and next year looks to be even better. We have Terry Bowden and Chuck Amato as coaches. We have the most beautiful stadium and facilities in the conference and they can stand up to almost anyone's in the country. My family and I have a blast every game tailgating in lot 9 with a small group of the best and most loyal fans that I wouldn't trade for any other group in the country. I tout these things to everyone I meet when the topic of college football pops up. For me, things are bright! I will continue to bring friends to meet the great people in lot 9. I have never brought anyone that didn't have a great time tailgating with them. Lord willing they get to follow that up by watching a fun product on the field. That is all that I can control as an alumni and fan and that is what I will continue to do. I will continue to put my faith in coach Bowden and staff because I believe that the sky is the limit for this program. This thread is completely depressing. All I hear is doom, gloom and defeatism. I want to put a different spin on this so people can see why we can truly be thankful! Many alumni and Akronites will eventually hop on board with continued success. It is their loss for the one's that don't. In the meantime, I will continue to enjoy the ride with coach Bowden and enjoy every gameday.
  8. How do you know Bowden doesn't take his family wealth into consideration when determining what job will make his life happier? Nobody says that he is living his life just to inherit family money, but I also think that it is unfair to say that Bowden is going to leave because of ego and a larger paycheck elsewhere. He has the luxury that many other coaches dont have....family wealth. He doesn't "have" to chase a paycheck.
  9. Bowden doesn't need the money. His entire family is loaded. Besides, if he stays at Akron for another 10 years he will make probably 4 or 5 million dollars over that time. When is enough, enough for someone with his family worth? I can see him giving up the extra few million for a better quality of life. I surely would.
  10. I think fighting through the last several years of struggles has built plenty of character. They need to get the taste in their mouths of pasting some garbage teams. They need to build their confidence even more, not struggle with a team that has won one game in the last 2 years.
  11. Finishing the season on a strong note is extremely important in picking up these kind of recruits. Bowden needs to show the proof that this is a place on the rise.
  12. Just calling it like I see it. Absolutely nothing about him looks to transcend into being a D1 force. He is an above average high school player averaging like 13 points and 8 rebounds a game.
  13. I hate saying never, but I dont ever see him being a solid contributor. Too small..too slow...no offense...too stiff...simply not a fluid athlete. He is not a big time player. He is a D3 player.
  14. We fucking blow!!!
  15. http://wvmetronews.com/2014/09/19/scouting-the-zips-akron-has-not-been-a-friendly-venue-for-the-herd-in-recent-years/ http://www.herald-dispatch.com/x1814461469/Herd-offense-Akron-defense-among-nations-top-units My favorite part of the storys..... Akron’s three best players are its three linebackers. Justin March, C.J. Mizell and Jatavis Brown. Legg says Brown is a converted wide receiver and can fly around the field. “That sucker was outside the left hash and the quarterback broke contain to the right and the next thing I know he’s lighting him up on the right sideline. He’s a heat-seeking missile,” praised Legg.
  16. Everyone was waiting for you to throw on your big ten cape and leap to their rescue while making a dig at the SEC.
  17. Really?
  18. I hope they bring 10k. We can use the revenue and I am sick of looking across the stadium at empty bleachers.
  19. Their board is rather hilarious when you look at their analysis of our team and the potential outcome of the game. Some of their fans think that they will hang 60 on us! They are a delusional bunch over there. I kind of enjoy them thinking that we are still the same pile of dog shit team we were a few years ago. I can't wait until Saturday.
  20. We need to beat some people before OSU starts worrying about playing us.
  21. Wow...Can't is AWFUL. They look like us with Ianello.
