Yes. The game went to OT. 1-2 more baskets and we win that game in regulation. Despite Herculean efforts from look-at-me-camera-finders Payton and Carry, had X made 1-2 more shots, that game is won in regulation.

This might be one of the prime time periods in the rivalry. 6 matchups in 2 years, including a MAC Final and now Semi-Final. Both teams are really good and neither is vastly superior or inferior. Bad blood between the players with last year's diss track, Carry's antics, them rushing our student section, etc. I don't know how many rivalries in the country have two schools that are largely competitive - at least in a singular sport - year after year, and have the number of rivalry occurrences that we do.

Heading to Cleveland after work. Going to catch the 2nd half of the AAU game between UT & OU which will seemingly feature 0 defense. We'll know when we're getting close to Zips game time, as a stench will start to waft from Lightning Chicken hippies...

This is a good ole fashion ass whooping.

I was just telling @GoZips88 that the MAC is in trouble. Their athletics depth is weak.

2022-2023 Zips Women's Basketball
Let'sGoZips94 replied to LoyalZIP's topic in Akron Zips Basketball
It's very nice of her to support a coach whose team she just whooped on in the conference quarterfinals. -
https://www.cleveland.com/sports/college/2023/03/akron-kent-state-and-rest-of-mac-feel-the-heat-of-the-tournament-terry-pluto.html Pretty easy to see why Groce has had so much success in March. He's not focused on what's arguably fair or unfair - he's focused on winning. "Being judged by what happens in Cleveland is unfair."

Let alone at the QB position. I've seen some of the Twitter interaction with Wasel by our other recruits. I thinks there's a genuine belief that this kid is the real deal, and players are excited to play with him.

So we know who to blame for the jinx if Thursday doesn't go well...

I said it last year and I still stand by it. Ali was at best a bare minimum net positive. The number of possessions he killed nearly cancelled out his positive impact on the offensive end. It was X and Freeman that took that team to the next level to nearly knocked off. Ali's bad possessions actually were a major contributing factor in that loss. To diminish Mikal's absence and also say Hankerson has been a disappointment is contradictory. Is Hankerson disappointing if he isn't expected to be the 3rd best player on the team? He is this team's Channel Banks, who was the 4th best player on his respective team behind LCJ, X1.0, and Cheese. Banks' offensive struggles at times would've been a bigger problem if he was expected to be the 3rd option on that team. Insert Dawson on this year's squad, and Hankerson slots in as the #4 option. We'd be talking more about his defensive impact than focusing on his offensive woes. Dawson would be giving us 10-12 per game probably and playing outstanding D while providing huge energy. This team was constructed to have X2.0 and Freeman as the 1-2 punch at the top, Dawson as the versatile #3 scoring option + defense/rebounding, Hankerson as the #4 + defense, with Tribble to be the gadget defender. Hunter, Johnson, Mitchell, Tavari, and Clarke were intended to be the bonus guys. Instead, they've all been asked to do more than what was originally expected, and we've seen some of the growing pains that have come with that.

Good for him - heck of an entrance into the WAC. The key piece we're missing is on our bench recovering from an injury - Mikal Dawson being his name. Aziz would've been a nice piece, but this exact team - minus Mikal - went on a massive run to finish the season last year. During the time of that run, Aziz's playing time dwindled to almost nothing. I wish we had both Aziz and Mikal, but if I had to choose, I'd take Mikal. Cannot understate how big of a loss he is.

Wasel has everything needed to become the next great MAC QB.

We did not watch the same game, then. The reason why Akron was able to remain in that game was their mental fortitude to stay level-headed. KSUcks had multiple players, including Carry, put a focus on their showboating instead of putting Akron away. PCCC won. Congrats. For the first time in Carry's career, he truly bested X. That's about as much respect as I'm willing to give that program. Their antics on the court prohibit any additional respect from me. This group of Lightning Chickens are as unlikeable - if not MORE unlikeable - than the groups of Lightning Chickens under Christian/Ford. I want TJCTTE (The Junior College To The East, since they want to do the Ohio State/Michigan thing for whatever reason) to get bounced on Thursday. However, should they win, I want Round 3 on Friday.

You must not lurk on the national circus board. TOS to Ringling Bros was wild and Pinky was brought up in this way often.
-
I think it was Pinky going off on the refs for the foul on the 3. They never provided an explanation I don't think, but they did show Pinky and I'm pretty sure he was a Crayola box of 64 with just different reds in it.

Can't feel great if you're a Trailer Park U fan, knowing you played a near perfect game and limited the MAC's top scorer to a near season low (maybe a season low?) and still needed OT to win at home on Senior Night.

They stormed the court. What a special group... 🤣

Payton goes high with his elbow every single time. He's a punk.

X modeled Clarke tonight. How do you miss that layup...
-
Get Clarke out of there. The game is too big/physical for him tonight.
