I use bballnet.com. It has a cleaner, more user friendly layout than the official NET website, including a conference by conference breakdown on the right side of the home page.

They're going to win against lesser competition more often than not thanks to their tough play style, that's why the game is played. Kent is ranked "higher" because they have 1 Q3 win and losses to #5, #6, and #55. That covers up for their 1 Q3 loss and 1 Q4 loss (Akron does not have a Q4 loss). I don't know what Kent will be come March, but right now, they do completely suck statistically. In their 18 pt win vs. NIU (thank goodness NIU is leaving the MAC), Kent shot 17% from 3 and 53% from the line. They played bully-ball and ultimately overpowered the Huskies, but it was not an impressive performance. NIU shot an abysmal 30% from the field, including 25% from 3 and 46% from the line. Kent had more turnovers (15 to 11) but 19 more rebounds (51 to 32). If Kent wasn't playing against the MAC's version of the Washington Generals, they would've lost that game. Their best player is out for the year, I believe they have another key contributor out for the year, and their top local recruit is basically MIA and potentially quit basketball.

They should be offering a $25 ticket special for X amount of tickets as a play on his number. They also need to have a slew of his jerseys for sale.

This is why I don't understand the move by them. The new MW is not an upgrade over the MAC in any way, shape, or form, at least not in football. Air Force, Hawaii, Nevada, New Mexico, Northern Illinois, San Jose State, UNLV, UTEP and Wyoming - that's their new football conference. Outside of Vegas, what is the MW selling to media networks? 12am kickoffs with NIU @ Hawaii? Is this strictly based on their Notre Dame game?

Through two conference games and ~half the season, here are the team stats for the conference. I also used TeamRankings to put the numbers into a national perspective. Some of the data is a bit different, presumably due to ESPN counting different non-DI games vs. TeamRankings (looking at you, CMU, and your dumb 4 non DI games). Some interesting observations... - Akron & Miami OH are the two best offenses in the conference. Akron's is based on volume, while Miami is a bit more efficient. Akron, Miami OH, and Ohio are the only 3 schools in the top 100 for PPG, so OU could be included in this discussion based on that metric. - Conversely, Kent is the worst offense in the MAC. They are last in PPG, FG%, and 3P%. They are the only team not averaging 70+ ppg, under 40% FG%, and one of two teams under 30% for 3P%. - There are 4 teams in the top 100 for 3PA per game. Kent, Ohio, Miami OH, and Akron, with Akron being 4th in the country. - Unless I missed a school, there are 5 MAC teams in the top 100 for FGA per game. Toledo, Miami, Kent, WMU, and Akron, with Akron being 4th in the country. - Akron is the only team in the top 100 in the country for 3P%. - Akron leads the MAC in RPG and the only MAC school with 40+ RPG. This is largely volume-based considering our pace of play, but still good to know we're crashing the boards. We are 45th in the country in Off. RPG.

Seth Wilson is shooting it well tonight. Love it! Decent first half. Defense needs some tweaking but I like where we're at!

The MAC will come down to Akron & Miami.

Thank goodness we're shedding dead weight in NIU. Unfortunately, Steinbrecher has done a fantastic job overseeing the bulk of the MAC shift closer to NIU's level than Akron/Kent/Ohio/Toledo. Kent losing to Balls is hilarious. Would be amazing if they ended up with their first losing season in decades.

CMU loses by 2 to OU. Ugly game by the looks of it. 57-55. Did Charlie Coles' ghost coach both teams?
-
I don't know if he was the focus when you have guys like Enoch Cheeks, Day Day Thomas, and of course Jizzle James. This is a Key & Peele skit...

What is 2019-20 without X1.0 - that stretch 4 that can play the entire court? We had a bruiser combo guard, a slick point guard, multiple guards that could shoot, and a decent but undersized front court. It's a very similar make-up to what the current team is. Hopefully there is enough on this team to overcome the loss of Harris. Massive blow.

Vote for Emil- 2024 Hermann Trophy
Let'sGoZips94 replied to NYC ZIP's topic in Akron Zips NCAA Championship Soccer
Their first ever Hermann Finalist from their first ever(?) College Cup team. They have a $20M payroll for football and apparently leftover money to buy the Hermann Trophy. Adedokun was 6th in the country in assists, 8th in points (21 less points than Emil), 19th in points per game (over a full point less than Emil), and 22nd in goals (12 fewer than Emil). Criminal. -
Did the shoulder issue occur when he had that nasty fall?
-
Zero coincidence the comeback started once the ball was put in Sharron Young's hands.

Great article on Kenneth McManus IV - the lone G5 signee at the Under Armour Next All America Game. -
The announcers made the situation 100x worse. They contradicted themselves twice in their explanations.

Zips have done a great job today making sure Princeton doesn't go on full blown runs.
