Great win by Akron! 3 game winning streak vs the ACC and all-time series lead vs Wake Forest, 5-4-1!

Nothing much to report. Dominant attack by Akron that simply hasn't found the back of the net. Hit a post on one attempt and the goalie made 2 nice saves on another attempt. 1 SOG all game for Wake. 10 minutes to play.

Gotta figure out who is going to put the ball in the back of the net on this team. Also, can a more experienced soccer fan explain why teams don't do a soft pass to an unmarked teammate to rip it on net for free kicks? Blasting balls way over the goal from the top of the box isn't fun.

Which house would you rather spend time at? 1) An unassuming house with a golf simulator, 6 TVs in the Man Cave, and a pool 2) A very nice modern house with no furniture inside The difference in gameday experience is found in what the ACC makes possible for Wake Forest to afford. 20x Akron's conference revenue share and I'm sure the gameday experience would be tremendous for Akron fans, too.

Wake Forest earned $42M in ACC revenue share. Translation: Wake Forest offers a Mercedes Benz experience compared to your standard P4 Lamborghini. Akron receives ~$2M +/- in revenue share from the MAC. We're delivering a 2005 Honda Civic with 300k miles experience. "Limited resources" LOL. The only notes that should be taken are how to ride the coat tails of more successful athletic programs to bigger financial gains than most of the country while in a geographically advantageous location. I'm sure Wake puts fine effort into their gameday experience, and I agree Akron's effort is poor at best, but comparing the two situations in any manner whatsoever is disingenuous to a logical discussion.

Big one tonight. While unranked, Wake Forest is one of those "it" schools (in soccer) that are circled on the calendar no matter what their ranking is. This will be a great measuring stick to see where this year's Zips squad is truly at.

Cal has a dedicated rugby field next to theirs. Stanford has Laird Q Cagan Stadium and Ueland Field next to their football stadium, one of which may be a Quidditch Pitch - hard to tell.

Nothing says ACC like surrounding your football stadium with indoor/outdoor tennis courts, including a stadium court.

It's all in limbo still to my knowledge. The deadline is fast approaching, though.

Correct - they're turning to a redshirt freshman transfer from Kansas. These "influencer" odds are more worthless than a Kent grad reading story time. FanDuel has the Over 4.5 wins at -102 and Under is -120 which is pretty much a toss up. Nobody knows anything in this crazy landscape.

Would be pretty cool if they ran the Shark Wheel for Big Cat. That would get a ton of love. He did buy the most tickets after all - a salute to him as an appreciation for his support would be cool. Excuse me. I will not tolerate curly fry slander. Their menu is basically just a bunch of sides that come with the curly fries.

I thought they were quite one-dimensional. Their only shots on goal came from the top of the box and those were really the only 2 times they committed to attacking that area. Most of the play went down the sides. This is the only thing that concerns me. Who is the killer striker that can put the ball in back of the net at a threatening rate?

I wasn't trying to "tell you." You made an observation about the photo and I was simply pointing out that the common attire between the 2 photos match in their plain appearance. If Poff was wearing plain gym shorts & a plain towel, or if Beals had on Akron branded football pants, I'd agree with your assessment. That's not the case, however, so let's move on.

Really bad draw. Had all the pressure in the first half, couldn't capitalize. Slept walked through the first 20-25 minutes of the second half and left themselves with too little time to break through.

Our midfield attack is leaving a lot to be desired.

They've been playing the runs down the side with crosses in to create the "shots". 2 headers were decent but they have otherwise been weak attempts. Even the SOG was a weak curling attempt from the top of the box but at least they tried something different.

Army is allowing the play down the sides. Wish we wouldn't play into that. Would love to see more shots from the top of the box.
