  1. These refs suck.
  2. I'm sorry, what?
  3. No Harris?
  4. 14-7 Milwaukee.
  5. Viewing experience is nice - crisp image, great camera angles, etc. No score ribbon is infuriating though. Also, we look like we haven't played a DI game in 2 weeks. Forgive me for beating a dead horse, but screw non DI games.
  6. That's so good to hear. Wish nothing but the best for he and Fulford.
  7. The MAC is so bad. Toledo lost to YSU. Ohio lost to Marshall. Balls did their job and near Bellarmine. Valpo whooped on CMU. Don't worry though. Steinbrecher is probably gonna write a strongly worded essay against court storming while the MAC continues to plummet competitively.
  8. They allow fans behind the goal during PKs now?! What the hell?! The Rowdies/Akron fans had to stand on either side of the goal during the 2009 and 2010 runs.
  9. Live look at Kowalchoke every March in Cleveland...
  10. UTEP/Jackson State. We don't know who that opponent will be yet. This will be THE stretch run for the season to see what we truly are before March IMO. If they can show well during this stretch, look for the 2nd Sun Belt game to be the marquee matchup as we'll be the coveted team from the MAC. Milwaukee will be a solid start that I wasn't fully expecting.
  11. Vermont vs Marshall... The world is healing. Screw the Suckeyes.
  12. Boise isn't a G5 brand. It also sets up for a Jeanty/Hunter battle for the Heisman which creates more viewers.
  13. Travis Hunter won the Biletnikoff Award for best WR. Meanwhile, San Jose State's Nick Nash was the WR Triple Crown King this year leading the nation in Receptions, Receiving Yards, and Receiving Touchdowns. College Football delivered the proverbial "nail in the coffin" message to G5s with their awards: they don't want G5s anymore.
  14. Harold Fannin Jr loses the Mackey Award to the Penn State TE. Fannin Jr had either the 2nd greatest or THE greatest season in TE history.
  15. According to 247, he had 2 offers - Kent and Eastern Kentucky. So often in Ohio these types of accolades don't yield much FBS-level interest. I'm sure he made the right choice as Kenni Burns and his staff have a track record of coaching up their players...
  16. Just wait until they start saying God declined the offer for them. "I was very blessed to receive an offer from (insert school), but God has other intentions for me. Recruiting is still open. #Blessed"
  17. Bill Belichick to UNC. Welcome to professional sports.
  18. If the new AD wants to get a buy game on the schedule, swap out Duquesne for a P4. That is a move I'd be ok with. Do not touch Wyoming or UAB. Nebraska, Wyoming, UAB, and another P4 would be a fun OOC schedule. The fascination programs have with FCS/DII/DIII programs in football & basketball for "wins" is baffling to me.
  19. I would be embarrassed if an Akron student wrote an article with so many statistical/factual errors.
  20. In other news, the softest football program in the country resides 1.5 hours southwest of Akron.
  21. And to be fair, I would've rooted for any G5 team (except Kent) to beat Notre Dame. It's not like NIU being the one to beat ND did anything for Akron.
  22. @zippy5 nailed it for the most part. They're still a solid G5 football program, but they aren't the 11-12 win dominant that they were from 2010-2014. NIU isn't a draw for fans, it's a PITA to travel to, and they absolutely SUCK at basketball which is the one sport the MAC can actually profit. It says something that the new Mountain West isn't even interested in NIU's basketball program. NIU would be stupid to accept the MW offer, but it would be a good thing for the MAC to allow for more competitive schools in basketball to become members.
  23. Ignore the quote. New plan. Since we have Kaulig, we need to harness the Chernoff/Antonetti system of being successful with a low budget. Zips need to figure out how to become a coaching wagon and establish a system that wins.
  24. That's an All American Ohio State level name for a DE or LB.
