That's a BS excuse for Ryan Day's lack of action in the postgame. He literally was on camera asking someone what happened. Then he defended his team's actions in the press conference. Sark didn't have a problem controlling his team, and Sark's team won their rivalry game. Ryan Day is softer than Charmin Ultra Soft and his team resembles that. I don't doubt Ryan Day wants to get to the NFL, but I also can't imagine there is too much respectable NFL interest in a guy whose 2nd half game plan had 0 targets to Jeremiah Smith. Before he leaves CBus, he needs to pen an apology letter to Kyle McCord, too. I'm sure Lou Holtz would like a word with him, too.

Here's a little Zips-related nugget. As if losing 4 straight to Michigan (especially this year's squad) isn't bad enough, Ryan Day has also trailed in all of his games vs Akron.

Ryan Day absolutely deserves the blame. I'm all for the players shouldering a good chunk of the blame as well, but Ryan Day is 1-4 vs. Michigan with an entire senior class going pants-less (referring to the gold pants each player receives for beating Michigan). His game plan was potentially drawn up by a Kent State student, it was that dumb. $20M NIL budget for 10 points - that's a coaching problem. And then to stand around after the game, do nothing about your players, then have the cajones to ask someone "what happened" - inexcusable. He deserves to be fired immediately, and will be if they don't win a National Championship (although some OSUcks honks want him fired regardless).

After losing 80-45 to UC San Diego, Toledo lost to Oakland 85-52. Rumor has it Kowalchoke is trying some reverse jinx strategy - sucking in November instead of March. It's a bold strategy cotton; let's see if it pays off for him.

I'm glad the MAC went division-less. We've been blessed as a fan base to be able to play our rivals in the MAC basketball title game. The same opportunity is now afforded to everyone in football. I'd say maybe we'll get an Akron/Kent MAC Championship in football someday, but Kent sucks, so...

6'5" RPO QB Bryce Underwood is a JoeMo wet dream.

Their best win is against 109 UNI, who also hasn't been impressive, yet nobody else has scored less than 50. Kent has only scored 70 twice this year, one of the times being 70 exactly. Credit to UC Irvine for helping Kent State reaching embarrassing levels of suck (more so than they already do by just existing), but Kent is not a good offensive team. It's beautiful to see.

Kent State scored 10 pts in the first half of their NCAA Tourney game vs. UNLV in 2008 and still scored 58 pts in the game. 39 pts in a game vs. UC Irvine is pathetic. Pinky got pissed at UC Irvine's coach for their walk-on firing up a 3 with 5 seconds left to boot. Worth noting that Sullinger is coming off the bench for them, but playing 28 mpg. Must be his punishment for whatever happened with his Furman situation.

2011 MAC Championship game. The Zeke block, McNeese block, and ensuing chaos on the Akron side of the arena... Pure cinema. A close second is the first game of the 2009 MAC Tourney vs Toledo. Humpty Hitchens and Brett McKnight delivering that win for us that started 4 wins in ,4 days to win the MAC. After that game, we got home and watched the Syracuse/UCONN 6OT thrilled in the Big East tourney. Perfect night of basketball.

This is the one I was gonna say. The "EIEIEIO! TO THE COLLEGE CUP WE GO" hit differently after standing in the cold through PKs.

2005 MAC Championship game. My dad wanted to leave with 3-4 minutes to go to beat traffic. I convinced him to stay and the rest is history. His karma was puncturing his finger on a staple on the Go Zips sign we brought. A close second is the game prior to that, AKA the Snow Bowl - Kent @ Akron. Field visibility was nonexistent at times from the upper portions of the Rubber Bowl, and the bathrooms were full of people trying to get warm.
