it's funny how some of the zip fans want akron to schedule some acc,big ten teams.they are the first ones to complain though when we lose a game.case in point -the board was all over kd when we lost to our last game.im sure if kd did schedule some acc teams they would complain when akron lost them.kd went 26-7 last year,and went to the nit won game the year before. thats not good enough so we should always go back to the good old days of hipsher,or c.crawford again.jd goes 5-7,4-8 and everyone says give him more time? i just dont get it?

skip we have only been to one bowl.you make it sound like we go ever year.we are 5-7.4-8 over the last two year.how about making a schedule out where we actually have some home games.,and it would also be nice if we win them.i am not saying do this every year buy we need to drop cinnci and bring in a 1-aa team.cinnci might even be willing to come to the new stadium the year after.i dont see where playing 4 bcs teams on the road every year makes us stronger? if it did how come we are 5-7,4-8 over the last two years.

maybe give the money to the football team,it would be nice not to go on the road all the time to play the bcs teams.

yea it has really helped the zips by upgrading the schedule.two losing seasons in a row,and playing in front of an empty rubber bowl.show me one mac team were it has helped.the mac is a mess with three winning teams in the whole conference this year.we have beat a total of one bcs team in ten years;so how has that made us stronger?our best year in a decade was a 7-5 season.we have done it that way since akron has been d-1,and this program along with the mac is a mess.winning makes winners not going 4-8,5-7.

i hope so because no one has seen rogers in game conditons.we need to go out and find the best jc qb out there and get him.[

i dont think that having three-four jc a year is not going to hurt,but i understand your point.what suprises me is we only gave one qb offer to a high school qb.that tells me that jd must think rogers can do the job.if i was jd i would be serioulsy looking at every jc qb out there.wr are nice but we need someone to get them the ball first.offering these guys like you said shows how weak our recruitng classes have been.

i understand your point,and normally i would agree with you.i just think if this team has another losing season jd is gone.i am not blaming him in fact i am blaming the au administration/ad dept for continually scheduling bcs teams on the road.i understand you want to get respect,but you have to beat them.we never do,and the losses pile up.i just think we need a winning season going into the new stadium get fans interested.if cinnci is willing to step up with some $ to buy out then i say do it.we need to start scheduling winnable home games.this year was a joke with the amount of home games we had.you can count one win over a 1-aa team towards a bowl so i say get either sun belt ot 1-aa team in here.there is always a chance you could lose, but we have almost not chance of beating a bcs team on the road.

i wonder if the zips will keep the home game with cinnci next year.my feeling is if cinnci wants out of the game then make them pay up,and schedule a 1-aa team at home.if cinnci does not want to buy out then keep the game.at this point the zips need wins,and win against a 1-aa would count towards bowl eligibilty.i think right now we would be lucky go to 2-2 in occ.most likely 1-3.cuse is a winnable game,but i dont see them making the return trip to the new stadium.likewise for indiana.

it's hard to tell how good the other recievers are since cj11 pretty much threw to j.aurthur open or not.if we have both of them back along with poindexter we go from having one of the worst wr corps in the mac to one of the best.i thought a.owen looked good when we threw to him.

i just dont think the spread offense is for cj11.that offense the qb has to be able to run the ball.plus we dont have the recievers for it.how many times did we throw a screen pass for no gain.now if harvey and lindsey come back that may change.i would like to also see allex allen,and williams at split backs.especially if neither of those two guys come back.

nothing against j.aurthur but harvey is a playmaker who can score on one play.j.a could make big plays, but harvey could take it to the house on any play.plus i think he will be a huge bonus on kickoff returns.if we can get both of thse guys back then this team with williams has some guys who can score on one play.i know you have to get the ball to these guys but it still gives us some gamebreakers.if the zips can find a qb then it could get real interesting.

i think the biggest reason is we only have three guys right now to play the 1-2 spot.i think they get gassed at the end of the games,and who can blame them.plus ced is banged up.if kd can even get one of the two guys roberts,steward can give us 10min a game that would help big time.you play alott of pt,and it will take a toll at the end of the game.we just have no depth at the guard spot right now.

you mean we played sc upstate.66-63.that was a real blowout.

does anybody know if either of those guys are coming back next year.if we have the same situation then the only way the zips will do anything on offense is if they have playe makers like williams.right now i would say williams,and andre jones return game is the only two the zips have.

5-2.this team needs to stop the gag!!temple,wyoming at home. now at winthrop ncaa team on the road.oh my mistake we won those two.kd needs to go.we should seriously look bringing in coleman crawford ,or dan hipsher.those guys could out coach kd in a heartbeat.

good point.i think almost all mca programs lose money,or just break even.it's nice for the zip fans to want to play the coach1 million a year,but who will pay for it.mac programs dont have it to spend.it will be hard enough to build a new stadium.where is all this cash going to come from.look at saban at alabama.they gave huge money,and look what it got them.it be nice to pay coaches that much but the mac schools do not have the revenue.

i think he biggest problem is we dont have two of our point guards.i am suprised we won as many games as we did.we have no depth right now.if ced, or dials goes down we are done.does anybody know if steward is even going to play this year.maybe roberts can come in give akron some min,and let ced come off the bench.i agree let bardo play the center and see if he can develope.

i like the way kd schedules.if they do not give us a return trip then do not play them.ill take a 26-7 team over a 4-8 team anyday of the week.i am not blaming jd.i am just pointing out what happens when you go on the road to play the bcs schools.you have almost not chance of winning,and help your program to apathey.

how pathetic to have a mac east champ 6-7.the mac was so down this year,and the zips did nothing to take advantage of it.miamiis east champs , and not even going to a bowl because they could not finish over .500.they were lucky to beat us.

come on buck zip.if you had a choice of the big island and akron where would you go.alott of kids go to schools to get away from where are brought up.i cannot blame the kid if he goes to there.now if he took an offer from another mac school then it would be a slap in the face.lets see a top 25 team and sunny warm weather,or a 4-8 team that plays in the freezing cold.plus there is alott of pressure for the kid if he does play here for his father.what does he do if something happens to jd and his dad is gone? then he is in a real tuff spot.sometimes its nice to get away for awhile and see there is more to life than the rubber bowl.

the problems is wood is 4 playing the 5 because we do not have a true center.if bardo can develope this year we will have a decent size front court.i say play bardo at the 5 wood at the 4 now.linhart is giving us nothing right now.conyers also needs to see more pt.

that willbe great.im sure it's coming to.stick it to the regular season ticket holders like they always do.i think the au atheltic department really overvaules zips football.i love the zips, but they always put it to the few thousdand season ticket holdersthey have.i seat license for a 4-8 team,and i am sure that it will go over well.i love the zips but they should thanking the loyal fans they have,but they just don't get it.my buddy has four regular season tickets and by the end of the year he cannot find anybody to go even if he gives the tickets away.so he is like why should i buy them when i can walk up and just buy them.if the zips have a big year next year,and the new stadium they might be able to pull it off.if the zips have a bad season next year good luck.i think they put to much value on a new stadium ,and not the product on the field.
