i don't understand why almost all zip fans are in agreement that the way we schedule are occ games is a mess.yet it's the same every year.five home games,and two-three bcs teams every year on the road.i do not want to hear that we are playing bcs teams for the money.we spent millions on new indoor facility,and millions now on a new stadium.how much money does the team lose by playing in front of 7k at the end of the year? winning builds a fan base which means more people in the stands, buying gear,concessions ect,and not losing on the road to osu.i just think most mac schools are taking the easy way out by taking the big pay checks from the bcs schools,and not thinking long term to build a fan base.

zips win is correct.our schedule is set up for failure,and our biggest problem.we usually only have 5 home games every year.we alwasy go on the road to play big ten teams and lose.right now this program needs wins.they need to start with the kd strategy of only playing a team if they give a return trip.we will probably see kentucky in the new stadium.indi,cuse will never play us here.they will buy out of it.we also need to schedule one 1-aa team.there is always the chance you could lose,but we have almost no shot at a bcs team on the road.i know we beat nc state, but lost eveything after that.next year looks like we go 1-3.if cinnci does not want to play here let them go.we need to find a sun belt,or 1-aa team to replace them.

temple and buffalo were 9-15 combined.they are booth bad teams,and we still lost to them.miami was 6-6 this yet we coud not even score a point in this game.i am all for giving jd one more year,but we are 9-15 the last two season.that is the reality of the situation.next year with the occ schedule we will probably go 1-3.i dont see us beating cinnci,cuse,or kentucky.

i think it was also unprecedented that we lost to temple,and buffalo two perrenial mac bottom feeders.

nothing agianst linhart but he always seems to get alott of pt,and when you look on the stat sheet it will read 4 pt 3 reb 3pf.alott of are other players get less pt but score more points,rebounds,asst ect.maybe i am missing something here.he does have deccnt size but the zips have mcknight,milmum,bardo, who play alott less.maybe jd sees somthing i don't see.maybe its the so called intangables these coaches talk about.i am not saying he is a terrible player all i am saying is i think there other guys on this team that should be getting more pt than him.

jd is now losing to teams like buffalo,and temple. we are one of the worst teams in probably the second worse conference.that makes us one of the worst teams in the nation.how is that going up??

i think we would be alott better at this point to find a 1-aa team.sure we would lose,but kelley has got them rolling.i thought a win over a 1-aa school does count towards bowl games.i am not sure of how many years though in between 1aa teams you can count it.at this point we need wins going into the new stadium.if the mac is the same next year seven wins and we are in a bowl.

in the zone you make some excellent points.i have no idea the realtionship with jd ,and mack so this is only speculation.the only way i can relate to this is in the business world.for exampleif the company you work for gets new vp.most of the time i have seen after awhile the new v.p. would bring in his own people.mack is not jd pick for a coach ;so there is no loyalty to jd.if jd had a great year his job would be safe regardless.since we are having two losing season if gives mack a perfect reason ,and chance to bring in his own guy.i am not saying it would happen but it gives mack a reason it get rid of him.i think most people on this board would jd next year.if things dont change then he has to go.

does anybody know how many years jd has left in his contract? i think most people are in agreement that if we have three llosing season in a row the a.d. and au admin have a difficult decsion.you have to still pay jd for the remainder of the contract.where is that money going to come from?

i am usually on jd.i think we give him next year.i am not ready to run him out of town yet.if we have three losing season in a row then the au admin has a big decision to make.hopefully jd can make some changes in the offense either player wise,orscheme the mac this year as a conference was terrible.there is no reason this team could not have finished 6-6.there is no way we can have a coach go into a new stadium with three losing seasons.

i like jd in the way he does his own thing.if a team is not willing to give akron a return game then do not play them.like one poster said what good did Can't do by playing duke.none.if it was such a good thing to play duke how did akron beat them three times.the big problem is there are about 300 b-ball teams so the acc ect can always find teams to play them at home.that does not mean akron had to follow the pack.

i know qb is a big ? mark next year.we have find somebody better than what we have is #1.i think js should look at cj7 as a wr.also he should start alex allen.the last few games he has shown some promise.jd needs to either have him and williams as split back ,or put williams in a slot.the teams needs to get all the playmakers on the feild at once.i have no idea if the other wr we have coming back are good.cj11 only throws to one guy so how do we even know if the other wr are any good?we need to scrap the spread offense if we have cj11 as same qb back.

if cj11 is our starter next year they need to change the offense for him.he does not have the footspeed to run as a threat.maybe go back to the tradiatonal i formation.i am not saying this will work i just know cj11 and the spread do not.

i am sure this will not be a popluar statement.i am not trying to downplay the game against cmu,but hopefully jd will try get some younger guys in the game.any experience we can get some guys will help for next year.this game in the big picture means 0.how many times in lee owens carrer did we see the zips win a few games at the end of the year.eveyone thought that meant the team was turning the corner.then they would come out and lose the first few games of the season.if it means we lose this game do see what some of the younger guys can get some pt then that would be fine with me.we cannot finish with a winning record,and there is not much difference in 5-7,4-8,and no bowl anyways.if the zips were worried about winning they would have not lost to temple,and buffalo.the season was over then.now go out and get some guys some pt.

you cant reply on one guy but the pg is where we are weak right now.if steward can come in and ply some min it lets middelton play the two.one guy in b-ball can have a huge impact.dru joyce came in as a freshman and took over the pg.also there was anther kid from akron that went right to the pro's skipping coll-bball.either you can play or you can't.does not matter what class you are in.

akron does not have the $$$ to compete nationally year in year out.no mac teams do.the bcs teams have huge tv deals.still there is no reason we cannot get 25k in the stands everygame.the key is to start winning.the year we won the mac we had 15 k go to detroit;so that proves people will show up.you cannot go 7-5 then have two losing seasons in a row losing to temple/ buffalo ect.no one is going to sit in cold weather to see a team lose to buffalo.the marketing has a bad product but they do themselves no favors with some of the things they have done to the season ticket holders.

CJ7 is a pretty good athlete.i have know idea if he can play wr, but we also need playmakers there to so i do not think it would hurt to give him a shot at wr.i just cannot see a kid coming from high school to play some qb.i guess that is the big question is if rogers is the man.i would hope jd is going to look at every jc qb that is out there.im not saying that is the answer ,but at this point what else can jd do? i think most agree neither qb we have now is the answer.maybe one of the guys will come through next year with a new offense,but i dont see that happening.

does anyone know if jd has even looked at another qb for next year.i just dont see us getting someone from high school.we probaby need to go the jc route and hope we find someone.

not sounding negative,but most of the guys playing tonight will not see much pt time.once we get steward back middleton can play the stictly the two.plus we get another pg at the break.this teams will have a totally different look.i do expect us to struggle until mac play opens up.

wake up!!unfortunatley losing is also part of our culture.if you think the new stadium is going to solve the attendance probelms good luc casue it's not.nobody is going to go out in thirty degree weather to see a lsoing team no matter if it's the ruber bowl,or new stadium.

short what you dont realize is are regular point guard stewart is hurt.middleton from what i understand is also banged up.also i we have another pg coming in at the split.don't be so hard on jd until you know all the facts.a win is a win.we are really thin right now at the guard spots so i could see us losing a few early games.things should turn around in a few weeks.

i just dont see the new stadium opening on time.im sure to will get done but when? that would really mess up are schedule.would kentucky come here then to play in the rubber bowl.
