all good points.i played d-line in high school and i do not see the zips dl use any spins ,swim moves ,stunts, moves ect to get to the passer.all they do is bull rush every time.even when we do blitz two people we cannot get to the qb.whats sad is how many third and long this defense gives up.even when they knew wmu was going to pass we could not stop them.im sure i will get some flak for this but i still think the d-line coaching has been bad.this goes back to even before jd with owens it was even worse.our only hope is the transfer from iowa will help,and sewell can put on about 30 lbs.he is probably our best dl and is a true freshman.

good point.i do agree in the especially the osu game the defense played good enought to win.in the u-conn n game they did get worn down because the offense did nothing.still against wmu the d did not have a good game.corner was getting beat all day.i know some of that was the lack of pass rush but our secondary was getting beat by wmu recievers.

g-mann this is not a personal attack but if you thought the defense played good the last two week then i guess we are in big trouble.the defense played terrible the last two weeks.the ony way you can measure a defense is how many points they give up.what else is there.

i just wonder why we can never get any pressure on the qb.i know we run the 3-3-5 but even when we biltz we cannot get to the qb.i don't know if we don't have the personell ,or the coaching.i played d-line in high schooland our team constantly shot gaps,and twisted ect.i just don't see akron doing any of that.

for as much as i get down on the zips.jd did a hell of a job in getting williams to go to akron.the offense play calling took advantage of the western bad defense.i would like to see more of williams out of the backfield.for a guy who was not even on our two deep he is by far the best rb home run threat akron has had in awhile.biggs was a good back but he does not have the breakaway speed.i hope cj11 sees that we have more weapons that just ja.owens also looked pretty good.

i still have not heard the story behind why he was benched.if all the kid did wrong was be late for one meeting then that is ridiculous to lose you starting spot.i guarantee not one person on this board has not been late for work at least once.you lead by your play on the feild.if it's all about team morale why not just put one of the male cheerleaders as qb.

the real difference for the offensive going wild is .western defense is not ohio state defense.that's it.

i think the schedule is finally going to go out way now.if we can beat temple next week we have a bye week before going to buffalo.Can't and ou are pretty much done with two losses.that leaves akron,bg,miami and buffalo? in the hunt.from the way the mac is going this year a 4-2 record may win the division.if akron can take care of buffalo,and temple we should be in good shape for bg ,and miami.

i still think cj7 is the better qb.im am not against cj11 .it's just he makes to many mistakes.there is no excuse for fumbled snaps.the one positive is i realy feel we have two decent qb's and can win with both of these guys.i just hope jackson stays with the team next year.i have seen through injuries where you can go from #3 on the depth chat to #1 in one game.i still think cj7 has alott of talent and the zips need to find a place for him.

gp 1 if you dont not think temple can beat us then look at the mac scores.no team in this conference cannot be beat by another team.temple lost to uconn on the last play of the game and won last week.if the zips take this game lightly they will get beat.buffalo also drilled ou today.cmu drilled ball state.this is the same cmu team that got drilled by 1 aa team.every game from here on out is going to be a dogfight.

zip i totally agree.cj11 turned the ball over way to many times.i honestly dont think the game with wmu is that close if jd start cj7.western scored alott of there points off akron tunrnovers from cj11.

the bobcat fans are calling for solich to be gone.it's amazing how the fans can turn on coach.all i heard last year was how great a coach frank .now they want him gone.with two losses this early i would think ou is done for the year.

BGSU got drilled to but by a good bc team.ou gets beat by buffalo.from what the scores reflect there is no one dominate team in the mac.i just wonder how many six win team the conference will have to even go to a bowl.does not looking good for the mac.espcially when ball state gets beat by cmu who got drilled by a 1-aa team.after the scores today the games with buffalo,and temple are not going to be easy now.

i don't understand where this cj7 lacks the leadership.you don't win games by cheerleading and high five teamates.what counts is on the feild.if jd keeps him off the feild for missing a meeting then that's pretty silly.i do not know one person who is always on time to work never misses a day for personal reasons.unless there is something cj7 did instead of just being late for a meeting then it's pretty stupid.he benched him for a game so what is the point now.if jd thinks that cj11 is a better qb then we are really in trouble.

all i can see is what's on the field,and cj7 is clearly the better qb.if jd thinks cj11 is a better qb then that is his choice,but i don't see any way we win the mac with him.we will be lucky to go 6-6 if carlton is on the bench for a majorty of the time.i do not know to many people on this board that thinks cj11 is a better qbjd can prove his point but he is going to take the whole team down with him.

i saw westen play against wvu on gamplan the first week of the season.from what little i saw of them they can throw the ball pretty well.wvu made alott of big plays to score on there defense.this is a perfect chance for cj to break some long runs on the wmu defense.i do worry about our defense being on the field all day against a passing team that will run our db's to death.all i ask is for jd please please please not to throw more than i screen pass every series.i am so sick of that play going no where.

not to defend jd but the team is about where i thought they would be.anytime you rebuild on offensive line and new qb that usually means trouble in the first few games.that said there are plenty of winnable games against the rest of the mac,and we need to win them.no excuses about the level of teams we play from here on out.wmu and cmu are not near the teams they were last year either out of divison

cj7 showed me in the indiana game that on the field he as the potential to be a good mac qb.he just adds another dimension when the play breaks down that cj11 does not have.i have to agree the team needs a leader,and he needs to step up off the feild.a poster on the mac board said we have the 12th hardest schedule in the country right now.no reason the zips cannot win at least two to of the next three games.hopefully they can win all three but have to win the two division games against temple and buffalo.

with nate in the lineup livey can go back to playin de.i like mackey but we have guys who can pplay lb.we dont have a guy 315 6'5 who can plug the middle.i thought our o-line gave our qb time to throw.when the play breaks down jac gets in big trouble,ad does not have the speed to create plays.next week does count towards the tie breaker,and we have seen that come in play alott at the end of year.

i would hope jd would open the playbook up,and start taking some shots deep on first down.for one i would like to see cj fake the dive and drop back,and pass.i agree with the other poster our play calling has been about three different plays this year.i know our line is young, but you have to keep the defense honest also.

i know everyone is excited about the new stadium.this is not to start a flame.my onlyconcern is that while we may pick up more attendance to start the 2009 season ticket holders are going to bear some of the cost.if do not think ticket prices are going to go up then you are crazy.i think the attendance of 22k is ok.i just hope the admin does not price themselves out,and drive the loyal fan away in 2009.sometimes this a.d dept gets carried away,and i am not going to go into that thread of sticking it to the core fan base.

while i think it helps teams like buffalo,temple ect the mac wil not have any great teams.i just dont see where any one mac team is going to seperate it's self.hopefully having a good year will help temple and buffalo build a fan base.
