  1. I’d love to see Marshall back in the MAC. It was, and could once again be, a good rivalry. I’m glad to see we’ve got a series with them in baseball.
  2. I Liked Kyshad Mack. Last year he was Massillon's best player -vs- Hoban after being inserted at RB & almost brought Massillon back for an historic comeback in that game. After that performance I thought UA may try using him at RB. I was surprised he earned as little PT as he did. I'm extremely careful to play the Politics card in college ball. In fact, I never do. Coaches want to win. If Kyshad wasn't getting PT I'm sure there was a reason other than Arth wanted to play his nephew, or whatever. If Arth thought Kyshad could help us win but was unwilling to give him PT for a deeper issue, then kudos to Coach Arth for sticking to his guns. Nonetheless, I'm disappointed in Kyshad moving on. We'll see where he lands.
  3. Anyone able to watch the game? I've got no stream on the reddit link & the C-USA website won't update my credit card information. So I'm listening to Frenchy.
  4. McKinley RB Lamier Garrett He's listed at 6-0, 200, so size certainly isn't an issue. But I haven't seen where he has any offers... at all. So there must be questions concerning his academic standing?
  5. It's on C-USA TV. You can watch the game if you get a 1-day pass for $6.95. @AkronAlumnus, do you trust the reddit stream? ConferenceUSA dot com / watch
  6. I remember that. I believe Ali Kart (?) had a nice look at a mid-range jumper that could have sent the game into another overtime... but it rimmed out.
  7. I don't believe we ever have. I remember losing to Top 25-ranked Nevada at the buzzer during the Dru-Romeo-Wood era.
  8. It's funny how powerful tradition is. I was watching the Cincinnati -v- UNLV game last night & was thinking how cool it would be if we could bring UNLV to the JAR. But man I'm getting old, as UNLV hasn't really been relevant since the early 90's. But I still think of them as a basketball power. Same goes with UMass. And Temple. To a lesser degree Tulane. Even Loyola-Marymount (they experienced a little tournament success same era as those classic UNLV teams). Now that I think about it, when was the last time Cincy got past the 2nd round of the NCAA's? UConn seems to be falling into this category as well. Anyway, yes, I think Tulane would be a nice trophy prize. While I'm just rambling here, Louisville is now ranked #1 in the nation. We only lost to them by 6, so we should probably be ranked between what, 2-to-4?
  9. Interesting.
  10. I’m on my phone so can’t repost the tweet from Mikal Dawson, but it appears he may be eligible to play on December 15th. ??????
  11. I can’t tell if this is tongue-in-cheek, or... Lol
  12. I think we're going to have to bring in another JUCO post player next season. Someone who can step in and contribute immediately. Here are our outgoing seniors listed next to the player who could/should step into the lineup to fill the void left by their graduation: Tyler Cheese --------- Maishe Dailey Channel Banks --------- Bryan Trimble Xeyrius Williams --------- Taylor Currie Deng Riak ---------- ??? Without having another post player we'd only have 3 on the roster next season in Camron Reece, Taylor Currie, and Jaden Sayles.
  13. I love to hate Marshall.
  14. There is always more than one variable: LCJ has matured, Banks found his shot, Banks & Cheese have a season together under their belts, etc., etc. So... I'm slightly hesitant to point this out, but man, are we better without Utomi, or what?! Watching this team play highlights to me how much of a ball-stopper Utomi was. He was also surprisingly slow-of-foot and lacked explosion. We just seem to be in a much better offensive flow this year sans Utomi.
  15. ABJ: Zips cruise to 64-47 win over Merrimack It wasn't what I would call an exciting game - Merrimack's deliberate, slow-down style wouldn't seem to allow for that. But while it wasn't the most entertaining ball I've seen this year, neither was it ugly or sloppy. Zips did what they had to do - took their time on offense passing & working for good looks - and executed well. The Zippers seemed focussed on both offense and defense for the entire 40 minutes. Good effort! I like this team!
  16. You’re absolutely right, John. He’s an awesome young man and everyone on the team loves him. But I think LZip’s point was that Ramart is not transferring because he doesn’t like the Akron program, but is transferring because he wants to be somewhere he can contend for PT.
  17. Michael Snowden made the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Fabulous 22 Team. Also, Michael notes he was recruited to play LB, so I'll update the initial post. *That gives us a nice distribution amongst defense recruits w/ 2 DT's, 2 DE's, 2 LB's, and 4 DB's.
  18. I'm guessing he's probably a preferred walk-on. But I added him to the initial post.
  19. ABJ: Zips coach sees both sides of coin in loss to Louisville
