Wow. This is going to be an interesting story to watch develop. Unlike us, Pittsburgh has a local paper so we should be getting more information on the situation. Gavin Bizeau & Dylan Swigle were both being recruited by KD when he was still at Akron.

@Captain Kangaroo mentioned there were a number of McKinley players at a practice a week or so ago. I know we're currently looking at handful of McKinley players and, according to social media, have apparently already offered three. Let me see if I can dig up their names... Jalen Ross, 6-3, 190 WR, S. Offered. From Canton, he went to STVM his freshman & sophomore years & then transferred to McK. He has 9 D-1 offers, a few of those being FCS, I believe. Jasper Robinson, 6-5, 240, TE. Offered. IIRC, he also has an offer from Toledo. Good athlete. I got to see him play basketball this past year. Like Jalen, also plays basketball at McK. IMHO, I like multi-sport athletes, especially football players who either play basketball or wrestle. Really shows they're not stiffs. D.J. Owens, DE, 6-0, 230. I don't believe we've yet offered D.J. Jonah Lytle, DB. I don't believe we've yet offered Jonah. Brian Pinkey II, DB. Offered. Brian's only going to be a junior next year, so he's targeted for the '21 recruiting class.

I don't know how I missed this ^^ post. But ABSOLUTELY. I don't know what our problem is. I'm just looking for a place to vent, but if anyone wants to get nice & pissed off (i.e., deep green with envy), follow Mike Popovich on twitter. He's the Canton Repository high school and Mount Union College beat writer. You can tell he loves his job & has more passion for D3 UMU & high school sports than our D1 beat writer has for Star Trek and cheeseburgers. Popovich tweets about even obscure UMU & high school factoids throughout the day literally every day. "So & so finished third in the steeple chase tonight." Etc., etc. For example, he just posted a picture of UMU football's new team sweatpants.

I'm getting extremely itchy for recruiting news. The 1st day of the signing period is next Wednesday, but lasts for a month.

I think they finished in 3rd place. Not bad. Jailin Walker’s one of the best players I’ve ever seen in the MAC.

I don't think next year's schedule has been released yet. Just this past week the football and futbol schedules were released (fall sports). So we probably have a while to wait.

Matthew just posted this. Don't know if grade issues are what actually prompted his initial need/desire to transfer? Hope everything works out for him. Wonder if there's any chance we'll see him back in blue & gold, ala, DeVonte Jest?

What was Featherstone's injury? Did he fracture his leg?

Love Utomi. But he's one dimensional. He's a spot-up shooter. He can't handle the ball very well. He's surprisingly slow-footed & almost entirely earthbound (in his 3 years as a Zip he never once dunked the ball & honestly, it doesn't look like he can). Due to his relatively slow feet, he wasn't very good guarding players away from the basket and due to his lack of explosiveness he wasn't the rebounder you'd expect with a build like his (5'8" LCJ averaged more rebounds per game). People on here were clamoring for him to take it to the hole more this past season, but he's really not very good at it (he had a difficult time finishing at the rim so would usually halt his drive a step or two too soon & then pump fake a few times; lack of explosiveness). I'm not happy Utomi's transferring but que sera sera. I do, of course, wish him well.

Everyone rounds the height up. If Ivey was 6’4&1/4” he’d be listed at 6’5”. Whatever. I ran into Ivey & Utomi at the Akron Family Restaurant & they were sincerely big dudes. Utomi was huge.

Somehow I have several hundred followers of my personal twitter account & all I do is retweet stupid cat videos & what-not. So I'm hoping maybe this will eventually get a few more followers than that & I can (re)tweet about area restaurants, microbreweries, shows, high school sports and, of course, the Zips! It's just gonna be a little hobby. But I'd appreciate you guys with twitter giving me a few followers off the bat so I don't feel stupid having zero followers. Lol. Thanks, fellas!
