  1. I think Keon Singleton was a Kent State commit who transferred to Malone. I like his size (6-0, 215).
  2. I’m on my phone, but OL Owen Murphy (6-6, 275) of St. Ignatius just gave us a verbal.
  3. Friday at 3:00? That’s just a little bit inconvenient.
  4. Marla Ridenour: Reds legend Chris Sabo seizes chance to lead Zips baseball renaissance
  5. It is surprising. It always looks like whoever’s operating the thing has never so much as taken it out for a test run.
  6. You’re not the only one who’s noticed. Our cheerleaders aren’t half as good as they used to be.
  7. I know STVM’s Lunden McDay is an OU verbal. Nice player.
  8. Good points, @Akron1. If you a-la-carte the games it gets pretty expensive to go to more than a few. But if you get the season tickets it's a steal. Idk what to say about the concessions. Concessions are always pricey, that's why I never buy food at the game. I took my niece to see The Grinch Who Stole Christmas last month & bit the bullet for concessions. We got a small popcorn, a small Coke, and a small bottle of water & it set me back $18.50!!! Another factor, all the games being on ESPN+ for $5 a month makes getting out to the games more of a dilemma for me. And I'm over 40. I'd imagine some Millennials must think it's crazy to go to a game when you can watch it on t.v.? They spend the rest of their (social) lives in front of a screen anyway. The culture surrounding sports is definitely changing. Attendance is down across the board. Like @LZIp said, if we win it changes things. But I'd hope we wouldn't have to string together 19 wins or be in the Top 25 to create sufficient buzz to get ppl out to the games.
  9. Excited for this one too! Go Zips!!
  10. I updated the initial post with our (5?) current verbal commits. Let me know if I've missed anyone.
  11. I really like both Cheese and Banks. Considering how bare KD left our cupboard when he left, I'm really happy with how the team is playing in Groce Year Two. Save Utomi & Ivey (two major pieces, I know) It was almost like Groce had to reboot the program from scratch.
  12. Another great game. This team has to give 100% effort for 40-minutes to win. Fun to watch when they pull it off. Cheese has come into his own. Also glad to see Roscoe firmly back in the rotation. E-man gave us some good minutes last night, especially defensively. I still don't really trust him, though, & wish Sayles would kick it up a notch. I've never seen Utomi off for an entire game. He finished the night with zero points. Ohio.com: Defense propels Zips to victory Cheese had a double-double w/ 12 points & 12 rebounds. Zips won the rebounds battle 46-42.
  13. Yeah, I’ll have to get back on that. I’d let it go since the early signing day came and went.
  14. He’s no longer with the team.
  15. I’m on my phone so can’t post a link, but we got a verbal from a good looking linebacker from Humboltd State, CA named Demetrick Watts (6-0, 225).
  16. We should have beat them in Mount Pleasant. In addition to wanting revenge, I'm a little nervous about the direction the season will go if we lose tonight. So, yeah, I'm pretty excited about the game tonight.
  17. Even though I can only make maybe half of the games, I still buy a season ticket. It's a steal.
  18. Agreed. It looks like they're having fun with the snow. I thought it might have been a disaster. Especially considering one of our recruits, whom I believe visited last week, had an OV to USF this weekend. Lol.
  19. UAZippers, I agree with your post save one caveat, which I highlighted above. Utomi is built like a Greek god, but I don't think he's an athletic freak. To me he looks kinda slow, kinda stiff, can't elevate & can't handle the ball very well. He's a shooter. When his outside shot's not falling I don't think he has great confidence taking it to the hoop. Even on occasional fast breaks he can't elevate to throw it down. It looks like he's usually trying to draw a foul. I know Utomi's awfully chill, but you're right, it looks like he's playing passively. Kreed's point about having to spend so much energy on defense may be the problem. Anyhow, I like the attitudes of Ivey, Cheese & Banks (even Toles - in street clothes on the bench - is a wellspring of positive energy). I wish Utomi would follow suit.
  20. ABJ/GT: RedHawks crash the glass to dominate Zips From the article: -Zips shot only 39% -including only 23% from behind the arc -were out-rebounded 43-31 -Zip's bench only scored 4 points to Miami's 23. All stats courtesy of George Thomas -click the article please
  21. Ivey & Utomi both with quiet 1st halves. Riak playing nice D down low.
  22. Love how Cheese is taking it to the hole. Gotta keep breaking down their defense off the dribble penetration.
