ABJ (GT): Bulls provide a potentially formidable foe for Zips
Great game day article! This is the sort of game day article I love - lots of names and stats concerning the Bulls. I now feel like I'll know what to watch for this afternoon.
But scary article; Buffalo sounds loaded.
Ugh, that was depressing but I've got to be honest...
-Bulls by 9 or more
-1 offensive TD by the Zippers
-Jackson will have 150-239 passing yards
-Not including Van or Kato, Zippers will rush for between 1-10 yards
:/
Howard's got an impressive offer list: Miami (FL), Georgia, Baylor, Louisville, FAU, USF, Syracuse, Temple, Tennessee, UCF, all listed in this link. I've also seen where he's got an offer from Florida.
They'll wear them November 10th versus YSU for the Coaches -v- Cancer game. Clark's right, we wear them when we play BSU at home. We only wear them two, maybe three times a year.
These are my feelings on the subject. I respect, and am deeply appreciative of, the way Bowden has brought this program back from the less-than-zero state of annihilation left by Ianello. But... eh... I just have the feeling Bowden's taken the program as far as he is able.
I'm sure Larry Williams, being a football guy, has a short list of candidates on speed dial he's probably salivating to give a call.
Having said that, if Larry Williams does make a change, we've got a number of assistants on staff who I hope the new coach would consider keeping. The #1 guy being Otis Mounds. He's been an absolute recruiting monster the last two seasons.
New uni's for 2018-19
Beautiful. Me like.
Blue & GOLD in the color scheme.
Beautiful script Akron on chest & right leg.
Zippy Fear the Roo head at drawstring.
Z (literally one of the coolest logos in all of sports) on left leg.
Thanks for posting those pictures. I can say that the west side filled out quite a bit more after that picture was taken. I couldn't see the east side as that's where I was sitting (upper GA).
You know what really grinds my gears? It's that Joe Akron was relatively out in force on Saturday. I've been waiting for 25+ years for Akron to embrace their team & I was very happy with the crowd on Saturday. GoZips.com has the game's attendance listed at 22,437. I doubt it was that high, but it was a nice crowd & the Zippers barely gave them anything to get excited about... even to the point of getting blow out... by Miami?!?!
ABJ (GT): Miami pulls away to beat Zips 41-17 in MAC opener
Van Edwards rushed for 6 yards on 4 carries. ?
“Obviously, you don’t want to lose one of your best linemen,” Bowden said of Council’s absence. “We’ll have to look at the video, but I don’t know if that’s the whole thing. We’re a little bit thin there [offensive line] right now.”
After six (?) recruiting classes, who's fault is that?
