  1. LZip, thank you for compiling this scholarship offer information. Just an FYI for everyone, I've been continually updating the first post in this thread with current information so our entire recruiting class is listed in Post #1. @LZIp, I hadn't included the players' other scholarship offers, but I'll add that information now. I'm not trying to steal your thunder! Hopefully it will just be easier to find the information if I include it in Post #1. So thank you for putting this information together, brother!
  2. ABJ: Speedy Kwadarrius Smith hopes to be big-play receiver for Zips
  3. Received a verbal from another cornerback Jesus Santiago, 5-11, 170 (4.45 40) of Palm Beach Central HS in West Palm Beach, FL Also had offers from Appalachian State and Air Force.
  4. Just received a verbal from 6-6, 220 Will King of New Albany, Ohio. Last season the DE was 2nd Team All-Ohio. MaxPreps has the DE ranked as one of the best big-school senior defensive linemen in the state.
  5. ^^Nice pick by Rich Hall at the 3:30 mark. He's got a fantastic build for a freshman corner.
  6. ABJ: Zips open camp with a bounce in their step and an eye on Nebraska
  7. And KENT STATE STILL SUCKS! Go Zips!!!
  8. ABJ: Veteran, talented defense key to Zips' success
  9. Just received word that Treon Sibley didn't qualify last year & will also be included in this year's class. Also received word that Jonah Morris will be on the field this fall!

  11. +1, LZip. Over the past few seasons Otis Mounds has proven to be an outstanding recruiter and our secondary is now officially stacked with talent. Here are McDonald's other offers. Among them, we beat out Southern Miss, Appalachian State, BUGS, Buffalo, FAU, Marshall, UMass, N.C. State, Temple, Toledo & USF. Good show, Otis!
  12. I'm on my phone so I'll post the link later & update the first post, but I see on Twitter we got a verbal from another cornerback. Chris McDonald of South ridge HS in Miami, FL. This is a good get. He had 18 offers.
  13. We've offered 5-11 PG Meechie Johnson of Garfield Heights. He is the son of Garfield Heights' head coach Sonny Johnson, who played at OU & was Ohio's Mr. Basketball his senior season. Meechie Johnson
  14. Zips have also offered Garfield Heights freshman PG Sonny Johnson Jr. He's the son of head coach Sonny Johnson, who was Ohio's Mr. Basketball & played at OU. Apparently we've also offered his other son, Meechie, who is a sophomore PG at Garfield Heights. I'll post his link in another thread.
  15. ABJ: With Kato Nelson entrenched as starting quarterback, Zips hope to improve on offense
  16. Aurora's Arslanian expected to see action for Akron Zips in 2018
  17. Self-Respect-O-Meter reading: less than zero.
  18. We got our QB for this class 6-1, 173 lbs. QB
  19. ABJ: Zips don't put much stock in being picked to finish fourth in MAC East
  20. ABJ on Deearius Reese & Kyrie Williams committing to UA.
  21. I hope Kato makes a nice leap this year. Tbh, I don't have a ton of confidence in him. I hope he proves me wrong! (I had more confidence in Woody as our best QB when he was still a sophomore & not getting any PT. Used to frustrate me. Unfortunately, I don't get the same vibe with Kato. Again, I hope I'm wrong.)
  22. Mount Union pole vaulter Matt Keim transfers to Akron
  23. ABJ: Coaches & managers named for esports teams pretty sweet jerseys btw
  24. Here's an article by Michael Beaven on Walter walking-on to UA: UA Men's basketball: STV/M graduate Scott Walter accepts preferred walk-on spot I didn't realize he had such an outstanding prep football career. He'll make a great practice player. It'll be good for the program for him to be a part of it.
  25. At the end of the clip Newman Williams squats 700 pounds.
