  1. Speaking of funerals, the general consensus around here was you were dead. Welcome back!!
  2. That article was so exceedingly poor it had to be a deadline issue. Right?
  3. I agree. I'm thinking we lose tonight... decisively. We then beat K.ent to become bowl eligible... making us the single weakest bowl-eligible team in the nation. We'll then proceed to lose the bowl game... but Terry & Co. keep their jobs. I'm cool with it as long as all of our current verbal commitments sign. Last year's class was strong as well. So... Keep bringing in the Jimmie's & Joe's.
  4. Nathan Rourke at QB makes their whole team a lot better. "Single most important position in all of sports."
  5. OU beat us out for Barberton's star player. 6'1", 215 lb., LB/RB Keye Thompson. Dude's an absolute stud. I'm really disappointed we couldn't land him.
  6. What are we going to do next year when we have SIX players listed as sophomores? We've got to redshirt a couple guys who are playing this year to spread those scholarships out a bit, no? We can't have six seniors in another 3 years. 2018-19 sophomores: 1. Torrey Patton 2. Virshon Cotton 3. LePear Toles 4. Eric Parrish 5. Jaden Sayles 6. Mark Kostelac
  7. Totes signs with UA (half-way into the article)
  8. ABJ: Zips prepare for tough test against Ohio Tuesday night GT mentions OU QB Nathan Rourke. The guy's really good. Legit dual-threat QB. He's a lot of fun to watch, actually. But tonight it may just be painful. I say we simply have to sell out to stop the run and make Rourke beat us with his arm. If Rourke beats us with his arm, then we've just got to tip our helmets to him.
  9. I love KD. I worked with him at Prudential Securities while I was an intern in college. When I started I didn't know who he was, but he was friendly to me. When he finally told me his story one day he got teary eyed. I love what he did for the program. Having said that, I was getting kinda bored with the program's stagnation. The last handful of years was like watching Groundhog Day. KD took us as far as he could. He was as steady as they come. I'm expecting more highs and more lows with Groce. And I'm looking forward to that, even if we do have to suffer through a year of growing pains. I was always fairly certain with KD's Zips we'd be a premier MAC team and compete in Cleveland every year... but never do anything special on a national level (NCAA). And let's not forget, to give Dambrot credit where credit is due: Sayles and Parrish are both Dambrot recruits. They both look like they're going to be great players. Duquesne can have Hughes & Dunn-Martin. I'm more grateful for the open scholarships their departure provided. It allowed us to sign LePear Toles who's game, honestly, reminds me a lot of Parrish.
  10. How many official visits do players get?
  11. Tonight's gonna feel really weird. But I'm pumped! Go Zips!!
  12. Not that I ever saw.
  13. He can really stroke the 3-ball. In high school it was probably the strongest part of his game. He's also a good assists man. During the 2nd part of his senior year in high school he started taking the ball to the rim in half-court sets a lot more and really became a complete player. He had an incredible tournament run his senior year & almost got McK to the state Final Four. In a close game at the JAR, they got beat by Lima Senior, who went on to win the state title, IIRC.
  14. Wish we had another scrimmage under our belts before the tilt w/ CSU.
  15. ABJ: Status of QB Thomas Woodson uncertain as Zips prepare for 8-2 Ohio The key to helping Zips quarterbacks, especially Nelson if he plays again, is a strong running game, Bowden said. That wasn’t in evidence against Miami, who limited the Zips to 55 yards on the ground, although that number was skewed by the sacks. Deltron Sands broke his fibula & is done for the year.
  16. I'm bringing two ??
  17. Tennessee might be giving him a call.
  18. Devastating. I can’t imagine.
  19. I, like most on this board, expected us to get railed by OU... even before watching what they did to Toledo last night. Ugh. I'm predicting a big L to OU... then a win versus K.e.nt... to make us the single worst bowl-eligible team in the country. I then predict getting beat down in our bowl game. That's my quandary. I have to think Terry's job is on the line over the next 2 weeks here. The Zips play a seriously lack-luster brand of football which even bores me while watching. But... bowl eligibility in 2-of-3 years? The program's never seen such success (how sad). That, on top of the fact that I liked last year's recruiting class, and I love this year's... I wouldn't want to lose this year's class. It seems like Terry & staff have finally started landing some of the local standouts. Idk. I'm torn.
  20. I would guess LePear Toles will sign today, but I haven’t seen anything yet on twitter.
  21. Isn't there some early signing day this year? Like, November 10, or something like that? Not waiting till February?
  22. +1 I edited out "poorly coached" simply because it's above my pay grade to say a Bowden is a bad coach. But it's honestly not any fun to watch, that much I know.
  23. Can you elaborate? Even player-by-player? What'd you see? We have ZERO media coverage.
  24. Zips look to continue push for bowl bid Tuesday against RedHawks
