Agreed. That was a good team to be sure. But without the Magnificent Mr. Cooper they don't go dancing, let alone make a run to the Sweet 16.

Yeah, I saw that article around Christmas time. Except for us and K.e.nt he's not getting recruited by MAC-level schools. But none-the-less I'd still like to see him in blue & gold; I'm partial to the local products. Plus I honestly do think he could contribute at this level & think he could even play some backup point. With the upheaval of our roster it'd be nice to have a versatile G like that. Btw, he's getting recruited by Anthony Stewart @ UT-Martin.

But now that I think about it, someone in the know had mentioned he was leaning toward transferring before the season was over. So, who knows.

It sounds like an impulsive decision to me. He is probably hurt that KD is leaving.

Lamont Paris was hired by UT-Chattanooga. What do you guys think? Disappointing for us? I was definitely interested in Lamont. However, right now, my uninformed heart is leaning toward Anthony Stewart, so I'm not too disappointed.

I would LOVE that. I crave another style of basketball. So tired of slow, un-athletic ball. Especially w/ all the athletic high school ballers in the area. The new coach, whoever he is, should be salivating over the possibility of assembling a stacked roster w/ only having to drive w/in a 45-minute radius of campus... including strolling over to STVM.

Speaking of this, how long till we hang Dru III & Rome's jerseys in the rafters? IMO this should have happened already!!! (Probably Big Bad Jeremiah Woods' jersey too.)

I can't wish him much luck in Pittsburgh. We're going to be fighting for the same recruits in NEO & WPA. I kinda hope he falls flat on his face. And not due to sour grapes whatsoever.

To be fair to KD, someone is allowed to have a change of heart/mind. Akron is his dream job. I think him leaving for Duquesne should be a alarm clock for the U to do something drastic about the JAR. No more talky-talky. And thus far, TDM is the only Zip who's announced he's going to follow Dambrot to Duquesne, so it doesn't appear he's actively gutting the roster, as some have charged. Also, it doesn't appear Dambrot's attempting to lure away our lone HS recruit, Jayden Sayles, who is not already on campus. Parrish is already on campus and has developed some relationships (he's on spring break w/ Ivey, Eubanks & Poke) so I'd be surprised if he transfers out. KD is recruiting current HS juniors who he had been recruiting at Akron... but that only makes sense. I'm extremely grateful for what KD did here, but quite honestly, now I'm... This is the first I've posted in a KD-related thread in a few days. What I'm by far most interested in now is the Search for the next Head Coach thread!!! Go Zips!!!

One of my dream scenarios is Dru-3 taking over the program one day, and this scenario would make sense chronologically. Hmm. Idk if Dru-2 is a good in-game coach or not. But recruiting is much more important than in-game adjustments. Plus, STVM lost to Trotwood-Madison by 39 earlier in the season but beat them in the state semi-finals. I'd say that's some serious and impressive adjustments being made by Dru-2 (granted, not in-game, but nonetheless). If not HC, I think it'd be great if Dru-2 (and eventually, Dru-3) were asked to be on the future staff. I think Willie McGee would make a great HC at STVM.
