  1. Btw, shouldn't we be playing at YSU this year?
  2. Yeah, I just read the article & it sounds like GT just reads ZNO. Couldn't he at the very least place a call to representatives for Johnson, Stoops & Winters & at least get a "no comment," comment?
  3. PW is a master of the spread offense & when he was UA's OC, we had literally one of the most explosive, exciting offenses in all of college football. He did that when we had the very worst football facilities in all of D-1 college football. Literally. By far. Embarrassing. I'm surprised they could even get anyone to commit to play at UA back then. Players carpooling to the grubby practice fields which were located 1/4 a mile from a crumbling RubberBowl (God rest her soul). Now we have some of the finest football facilities in the nation. Literally. And by far the best in the MAC. I'd be extremely excited to see what PW could do here now.
  4. Maybe this is why KD is (apparently) delaying AA's knee surgery until after these next few games? Maybe he feels we really do need AA for Pine-Bluff & YSU. It'd be pretty devestating to go 1-4 over the next few weeks.
  5. Interesting development, If YouTube isn't sleeping, I'm hoping he was/is on the phone tonight. Maybe I missed it, what are we supposed to take from this article?? +1. I don't understand what "development" you're getting at. Interestingly, the article spells out why GP1 never thought a Pro-set offense would work at UA - and he was right about that. A spread is needed to equalize the talent. This is one reason I'm a Paul Winters supporter. He's a master at running the spread & his former UA offenses would be right at home in the wide-open PAC-12.
  6. He's quite safe. No one who actually still reads the Canton Rep even knows what the internet is. LOL Canton too??
  7. He's quite safe. No one who actually still reads the Canton Rep even knows what the internet is.
  8. For anyone who has never seen the show, it is a race around the world with a bunch of stops along the way. It starts and stops in the US and this year the final leg was in Atlanta. That's where the two contestants on the left met up with the Zips fan. Yeah, you can tell I've obviously never seen the show. And Atlanta, eh? Cool.
  9. So, without a traditional presser, how are the crack reporters - Georgie, Porter, Rasor, Elton - supposed to put a story together sans quotes from the new HC? Weird.
  10. Sounds like the college equivalent of the Steelers approach in the NFL. Seems to have worked well for both Wayne State and the Steelers. I was never close to being a D-1 caliber athlete, so I have no idea, but will this scenario translate when recruiting quality D-1 players? Most of them are pretty cocky (and rightly so) and firmly believe they're going to come in & be BMOC right off the bat, right? (Just playing devil's advocate here, because I know PW already has plenty of experience in recruiting D-1 players. Also, if need be, I'm sure PW could tweek his strategy a bit.)
  11. +1. This shot should definitely be moved to the random sighting thread. Where was the "race" taking place? It wasn't around Akron, was it?
  12. I cast my lot for Paul Winters. Building up UA should be a piece of cake compared to what he did @ WSU. Akron should dominate the MAC.
  13. From 1 vote in the Top 25 to 1 vote in the Mid-Major Top 25.
  14. Good point, here. I've been a little perplexed & dismayed over Gilliam's lack of PT. But your above observation is very true.
  15. "[O]ther names,"? Besides Mike Johnson & Narduzzi? If that's the case, then we know who the mysterious 4th candidate is.
  16. Paul Winters, Mike Johnson, Narduzzi. Quality list. I like all three. I'm going to be excited about the future of the program no matter who they decide upon.
  17. Excellent. That pack it in style is a big reason Americans find soccer "boring," when, actually what Americans find boring is poor soccer.
  18. If KD doesn't get AA's surgery done asap so he can recover during the Florida A&M, YSU & North Carolina A&T games (when we shouldn't need him) in order to be up to speed for the VCU & Marshall tilts (in which we'll desperately need him), I'd be tempted to say that KD's going for 3 easy wins -vs- the former 3 while looking for a built-in excuse -vs- the latter two. Tempted, mind you. Not saying he is, necessarily. But I'd be tempted...
  19. You guys probably feel about UNC the way we feel about Ohio State. I'm pulling for you guys all the way!
  20. Unfortunately, they may be right.
  21. Frenchie announced the crowd at 4,500-ish (forget exactly; less than 5,000). On screen the crowd looked quite a bit larger, IMO.
  22. Gilliam looked good on defense. That's what KD loves. Reward him, coach! Plus, I'd say Nitro's outside shot is only slightly better than Gilliam's. Gilliam's upside is sky high.
  23. The D-II National Championship Game is at 11:00 a.m. on ESPN2. Nice WSU -vs- Winston-Salem State highlight video. Go Warriors. Go PW!
  24. Likewise. Maybe we'll run into each other at a watch party? I want to start going to some of those. I don't really know anyone who posts on ZNO & I'd like to be able to put some faces w/ the names.
  25. I'd never vote for someone with a last name that is one letter away from being Amish. We will return from Bali in 2-3 years and can live anywhere we choose. We plan to return to Ohio and live in the Hartville area. Because....I like that they have a significant Mennonite population. We considered Sugar Creek but that was to remote...but a large Amish population was a plus. As a group, the Amish take little from the entitlements provided by our government and have a very low crime rate. If you grade all groups as (+) or (-) in regards to financial/moral surplus or (drain) on society...I think the Amish are definitely a plus. They make good neighbors...that is why we chose Hartville. I know you and I seldom agree...but I am shocked that we do not agree on this issue. You admirably stand up for other oppressed groups (no need to mention the group here) but are willing to throw others in front of the bus?? I guess you really do mean it when you write" You want it to be one way, but it's the other way." Hartville is a really nice community. I live between Clearwater Park & the Hartville Kitchen. Half the time I don't even bother locking my front door.
