  1. I agree. But just to clarify, it was GoZips whom TW told that JT was in the realm of possibility. GoZips isn't a ZNO moderator. But he does give us more accurate inside information in regards to basektball than almost anyone on the board. (Edit): I see two of the ZNO moderators jumped in before I could post.
  2. Ha. I just received a text from a friend who doesn't even follow UA athletics which read, "Jim Tressel to Akron?" This is getting out of control. The fact UA hasn't come out to officially deny the rumor has me feeling optimistic.
  3. I disagree. His roles at this time is to take on consulting.... not just due to his years of expertise, knowledge of players, recruits, and coaches, and his connections there-in... but moreso because of how his future is foggy with the NCAA. He is perfect for being on, or assisting, a search committee. But again, wouldn't UA have at least tried to make it clear by now that Tressel is simply on the search committee?
  4. +1. Man does Deji have good size, explosiveness & arms that reach to the ceiling, but he sure looked like a true freshman last night. AA is definitely this team's QB. We didn't stand much of a chance without him.
  5. My father is not a UA alum (neither am I, for that matter - just an Akronite). But he's friends with Dennison & is still rather luke-warm toward UA for the whole Dennison-Faust thing. I love Dennison, but that whole debacle transpired before I was really old enough to understand what was going on. Dennison is awesome.
  6. +1. I'm admittedly hanging onto the JT rumors because I want them to be true. But, with my biased perspective on the table... doesn't this lead one to believe in the validity of the rumors? Wouldn't UA be in a hurry to crush the rumor precisely because of the reason you just stated? Especially considering the immense volume of smoke around this rumor right now?
  7. You mean a press conference? I mean a job interview. Ahh, interesting. So they are lining up interviews. Probably not a good sign concerning Tressel coming here.
  8. You beat me to it. Both of those guys were fairly highly rated Moore was recruited to the SEC. If put in the right system either could become all MAC or maybe they both truly do suck. However, based on this last season, everyone on the team, but Wagner, sucks. Anyone that thinks QB is our only issue is blind. Hey now, our long snapper, place kicker and punter were all very good!
  9. You mean a press conference?
  10. +1 I have a final to study for and this is not worth missing out on studying for. I'm very glad I didn't take that bus trip to Morgantown.
  11. Personally, I think Zeke needs to stop focussing so much on blocking shots. It's cool and all when he gets a block, but generally it simply gets him out of good defensive positioning. I wish Zeke would quit jumping & leaving his feet in order to block shots, keep his feet on the ground & just extend his arms to alter shots. That's sufficient. That way he'd also keep his positioning for rebounding. For 7'0" he doesn't get enough rebounds. I think it's directly attributable to his shot-block fixation.
  12. I hope this suspension is really disappointing to Tree & that he learns from it. He had, as we all know, some discipline issues in high school. I'm sure Dambrot was tempted to just let Tree play (we desperately needed him tonight). But KD, as always, did the right thing. Again, I hope this helps Tree in the long run.
  13. I think I'd just sit Nitro and give his minutes to Gilliam in the hope of getting Gilliam more comfortable on the court. Nitro's a liability against these more athletic teams. Gilliam's ceiling is much higher.
  14. +1. AA makes a BIG difference on this team. Q's doing an admirable job. But even WVU's announcers have mentioned, oh, I'd say 3 times already, that Akron's playing without a true PG right now.
  15. +1. With this new team, he and Nitro actually look like the odd men out. Egner too. Michael Green goes w/o saying.
  16. Well, that first half sucked. I know we miss AA, but man.
  17. Nik w/ 3 fouls in the first half. Without Tree we don't have another PF. WVU's going to eat us alive inside. Did they just say Nik has 4 fouls?!?!
  18. And is Gilliam ever going to start contributing, or what?
  19. It's surprising how much slower Nitro & Nik are than the other players on this year's squad. Nitro doesn't really look like he belongs out there. Q is the best player on either team. But man, we really miss Tree against these Big East forwards.
  20. We need Tree tonight. Of all nights to need another athletic big
  21. as much as they need...i have info that the bigwigs of business in the area are involved in this search. What kind of info do you have? Can you be a little more specific?
  22. I think you're talking about Ian Tayek. I think he was the president of the Rowdies last year. Thanks. He's good!
  23. Couldn't find him. I got Chris Farley, Seth Rogen, and the Gungan King though. Ha, that's not the first time I've been told I look like Seth Rogen Who's the enormous guy front and center. I see him at every football/soccer/basketball game I attend. Obviously a loyal dude. (I'm sure you are too - he just really stands out in a crowd!)
  24. I haven't done any post searching or anything like that, but aren't you usually telling us how easy it is to win in the MAC? How the MAC is so bad that a turnip should be able to coach a team to a .500 record (paraphrasing here)? +1. It should be relatively easy to win at Akron. A MAC schedule plus one FCS school = 10 winnable games a year. IMHO it'd be (theoretically) easier to win at Akron than at Northwestern, Minnesota, Indiana, Illinois, Purdue, Iowa State, Kansas, etc., etc.... (Frankly almost any lower-level BCS school who gets trounced by the truly big boys every-other week.)
  25. Years.
