  1. All great stats Dave, here are a few more from Nik: FG% - .405 FT% - .529 Turnovers/game - 2.4 Points/game - 8.1 Those are unacceptable numbers. When your starting PF is shooting 40% from the field and turns the ball over almost as much as your starting PG you are going to struggle to win games. I don't care how many boards he grabs or how many 3's he hits. If these types of performances continue I would not be at all surprised to see Tree starting at PF by the time we reach MAC play. I agree. This puts KD in an awkward position, as we were really crossing our fingers & putting pressure on Nic to come back for one more year. But he's gotta do what's best for the team.
  2. Those are the sentiments I was trying to convey in my above post.
  3. Your wish is my command. Thanks! +1 (First plus one I have ever posted - I was about to make the same request - what in the world possessed you to do it in the first place?) Just being stupid.
  4. I know it's a hypothetical, but that would be incredibly lame & he shouldn't want to be here working for higher-ups who would have that thought process.
  5. Well, tough loss. But it was a very good game. Very entertaining to watch. Congrats on a great season, WSU & PW!
  6. WSU is really getting banged up.
  7. Uh oh. Blocked punt. If Pittsburgh State scores here it would take a 4th quarter miracle for WSU to pull off the comeback.
  8. It's good to see that PW does not keep his playsheet stuffed down the front of his pleated khaki's.
  9. Your wish is my command.
  10. We will get to see how he handles a little adversity +1. BIG swing. We'll see how his players react.
  11. TD WSU. Again, I love PW's sideline demeanor. He knows there's a ton of game left & his demeanor is essentially as cool & calm after the TD as it was after each of the two INT's. *ESPN commentator, Dan Hawkins, just noted PW's demeanor: "Just love his demeanor. Very calm, very poised. Classy guy. Very much in control. Knows what the Warriors are all about and obviously has this group marching in-step with his philosophy." (No, my recall isn't that quick. I rewound my dvr.)
  12. Well, from what I hear that's a good 5-minutes longer than Zipmeister lasts.
  13. Two badly underthrown interceptions from WSU's QB. I like PW's sideline demeanor. He doesn't berate his players. Very calm & in control. Unflappable. You can tell he's a teacher of the game. Very much a demeanor like Jim Tressel or Mike krzyzewski.
  14. I don't know how to do the surfthechannel thing, but I do know there are a few guys on here that, at the very least, can burn you a dvd copy of the show(s). I'm sure they'll reply.
  15. Nice! Is Waddell the one responsible for that sweet opening video they used to play before basketball games - the one w/ Zippy drop kicking the Toledo Rocket, the Can't State Golden Flash, the OU Bobcat & Columbus' own Brutus Buckeye?
  16. Now 10-3. Good game!
  17. Most immobile mobile QB I have ever watched. Please tell me what makes a QB "mobile." I think Vick, Cunningham, Tebow, Edelman...even somebody like Ben. Moving to make positive things happen. I never really seen anything positive happen. Mobile relative to Nicely, I suppose. Of course my grandma is mobile relative to Nicely.
  18. If anyone cares, Mount Union is playing for the D-III National Championship tonight at 7:00 on ESPN2. Go Purple Raiders! And, btw, PW's WSU Warriors play for the D-II National Championship tomorrow morning at 11:00. Also on ESPN2 IIRC.
  19. Interesting post-Pine-Bluff comment from KD (courtesy of Rasor's blog): "I’m really disappointed we didn’t get any pop out of McClanahan and Diggs [off the bench]. Right now, Brett’s dead-faced, for whatever reason. Q isn’t going to play against anyone who he doesn’t think is a great team. That disappointed me, but it was good to see Chauncey put the ball in the basket.” I don't think we have anything to worry about w/ Q. But the part of the quote which interests me is concerning Brett. He's looked awful & KD puts it as Brett is "dead-faced." I don't even know what that means. All I know is that both he, and Nic, look painfully less athletic than anyone else who gets PT & seem to be weighing the whole team down.
  20. I think both Nicely & Moore would look better in a PW spread than in the iCoach pro-set. Especially Moore, I suppose, with his mobility.
  21. No! PW all the way. I want an offensive-minded HC. Secondly, PW is used to working with less/smaller budget. LF is used to a bloated budget & a gluttony of talent @ Columbus State. He'd be shell shocked here. Contrarily, PW would be in heaven.
  22. Well said. Akron isn't going to be a place for a guy who was head coach at OSU for a season to come, regardless of the circumstances. Typically, the MAC/Akron is a good fit for someone who is a long time assistant/short time coordinator to break in. Or, a guy like Winters or Kelly who did their time in lower divisions. Nobody wants to hear it, but the Akron job would have been a step down for Fick. Last season was his chance to audition for a CUSA job. Given the cards he was dealt, he did a pretty good job. At the rate Pitt is going, they might just be CUSA quality if they don't watch out. Pitt is a step up for Fick and a good opportunity. If he proves himself, he could always go back to OSU in a few years when UM has had enough. Since we entered D1, the HC position at Akron has been a springboard to a lower division or out of coaching altogether. Springboard? More like a diving board.
  23. I'm getting excited and getting my hopes up for PW. He's an offensive mastermind. He's a classy guy (man, did "Classy" Freddie Blassie ruin that word, or what?). He'll recruit the hell out of NEO. He bleeds blue and gold. He'll make both The University of and the City of Akron proud. [edit] Great post, btw, WNN.
