  1. Wow. WMU only had one 3rd-down play in the first half.
  2. Our talent isn't this bad, is it?
  3. It's a bit late for that.
  4. They really are. I also love the gulf coast of Florida, but honestly, some of the beaches in western Michigan are just as nice.
  5. With 7-minutes to go in the first quarter Frenchie's already getting sarcastic.
  6. You drove from Maryland to K-Zoo Michigan for this game? And our alotment of tickets are gone?! Surprising following we have right now.I think you might be confused.Whoops! WMU looks too much like WVU
  7. Touche'. Wags isn't playing today.
  8. Did he get face-masked on that play?Alex Carder's not playing for WMU?Oops. Guess it doesn't matter that Carder's not playing.
  9. Did he get face-masked on that play?Alex Carder's not playing for WMU?
  10. You drove from Maryland to K-Zoo Michigan for this game? And our alotment of tickets are gone?! Surprising following we have right now.
  11. Best case scenario for fans of the program. Thank you for proper perspective. I'm posting as a desperate cry for help. I think I'm losing my mind!
  12. This used to be common. Not so much anymore. I think Nebraska has done it in the past. If I'm not mistaken, Wisconsin did it with Alvarez for a while. I'm sure our Basketball and Soccer coaches would have a problem with it.Thanks.
  13. It's an absolutely gorgeous day for football in western Michigan. (I vacation in western Michigan, about 1&1/2 hours northwest of Kalamazoo and absolutely love it up/over there.) The forecast for today's kickoff in K-Zoo is 51 & sunny; not too windy. The only chance I gave the listless Zips of holding WMU to under 42 was poor weather. Well, that's out the window. We're so decrepit I actually find myself hoping for a decisive beatdown today; it won't leave the UA trustees with much of a choice as to whether or not to relieve iCoach of his duties. Whether Jim Tressel is in the cards or not is irrelevant to me. I just want to see someone -anyone- else at the helm.
  14. Out of curiosity, is it even plausible that one man could hold both the football HC position and the position of AD at a D-1 school? (To me, the responsibilities of a D-1 HC seem overwhelming enough.) I know Jim Dennison is both Walsh Univerisity's head football coach and athletic director. But has any school done this at the D-1 level?
  15. Rubber chickens have a way of kicking back after every banquet. They don't go down without a fight.
  16. Prediction? Pain. Utter destruction. Annihilation. Profound humiliation. But isn't that what we're all hoping for?! Then they'll have to fire iCoach! Go Broncos!
  17. I honestly believe, with the interest Lebron has shown in our athletic programs, he could be our major booster once he's retired and starts getting bored. Now I can't stand Lebron James on a personal level, but as a great man used to say, you take money wherever it comes from for your cause, because "the Devil has had it long enough." i'd be worried OSUcks would get the majority of it Bring Tressel in as both football HC & AD for the next 8-ish years. When Tressel retires, move Dambrot to AD. We'd be sure to get LBJ's support.
  18. To add to the rumor mill, here's some 3rd & 4th-hand information. Today @ Thanksgiving dinner, my father, who is kinda-friends (more than just aquaintances) with Jim Dennison, said that Dennison told him that Tressel had told him that he (Tressel) wouldn't want to coach at the D-1 level anymore. How long ago did Tressel tell Dennison this? Idk, good question. Tracking the degrees of separation: Tressel-->Dennison-->my dad-->me -->ZNO.
  19. I would be all for hiring Tressel. 1) If he could simply get us to the level of his great YSU teams of the past we'd be a perennial contender in the MAC. 2) I think he could raise Akron to an eventual Top 25 (25-20) program. 3) Imagine, if he were AD, the fundage the Vest could bring in. 4) He'd give us instant credibility throughout the state of Ohio, let alone the greater-Akron area, which we've had trouble recruiting in the past. 5) He'd give us instant credibility with the potential UA fan base; help fill the Info. 6) Current donors/sponsors would love it. 7) He'd probably consider Akron his grand finale; riding off into the sunset job, so we'd probably have him for a while. 8) Most importantly, it'd trump anything K e n t has done. Count me pro-Tressel.
  20. This is great tee shirt material. For some of us slightly younger fellas, what's the story w/ Helsel again? He was hired after Mike Bobinski & only stayed @ UA for less than a year, right?
  21. +1. Everyone on ZNO loves Humpty & wishes him nothing but the best!
  22. Favorite quote: "And Can't State University, for obvious reasons, has filed to register its athletic teams' name - the Golden Flashes." Wonder if they'll register K e n t Sucks?
  23. +1. Humpty would actually be a better fit with the team the Zips have now than when he was here.
  24. Thaaaaaaaaaaaaank you! If true, I also wish iCoach & family the best, of course. But for the sake of the UA football program, wow, I sure hope this is true.
