  1. What about that do you find interesting, Good Doctor?
  2. My son New Jersey's 4th ranked receiver just commited to you guyhttp://njvarsity.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1285511http://www.ncsasports.org/football-recruit...ijah-st-hilaire Welcome to the family!Go Zips!
  3. It sounds as if you've cooled off a bit on Nick Harney?
  4. Too late for that. Zipmeister is always fretting over Zips swimming and diving. Don't waste your time trying to soothe him.
  5. Not giving up hope yet. Championship or bust! It's awesome that this is where the program is. This team is so much fun to watch & it's just simply great having a team (from a relatively major sport) that we know are perennial national title contenders. I think I'll be content if we make the Final Four.
  6. This is the one that blows my mind. These guys are fighting hard every week, till the end of every game, even if we're getting blown out (which hasn't happened in a while). I'm pretty sure I would have been half-assing it by now. I've got to give props to the players on this team; I honestly have a lot of respect for all of them. Additionally, for as often as I hear on ZNO (from a few select, perpetual posters) about how much the players dislike iCoach (& staff), I just can't really believe it due to how hard these guys are playing for him.
  7. Off the GoZips.com team roster already. This time they didn't waste any time updating the roster. Normally he'd still be listed as on the team until the middle of next year.
  8. Why do the players hate Anthony Merriwether?
  9. ^ There you go, Big Zip. I think I corrected your spelling error.
  10. Let's take a look back:In April, here is a 2 page thread titled Patrick Nicely , ....first when we start training camp -- iCoachIn July, here is a 3 page thread titled The QB battleIn July, before a starter is named, I predict we lose to Columbus by double digits no matter who the starter is.In August, JZ reports from practice that neither QB distinguished themselves from one another.Eight pages of debate when LR8 is named starter. The debate continues into SeptemberI get irritated when I read these generalized BS statements how everybody wanted or said this or that. There are some quality posters on this board, you just have to filter through some that are not. You can do this yourself by getting rid of the posters that do not contribute quality information/discussion to ZN"+1. I honestly don't recall anyone predicting great success from LR8. It was just a general hope for better things and a comforting thought that LR8 couldn't possibly be worse than Nicely. However, LR8 just seems to be a tad better than Nicely. Sadly, with these two it seems to be pick your poison. God bless them both, but we just don't seem to have it at the QB position.
  11. +1. If the Zips can't mildly light up the scoreboard against the Chips, then they can't mildly light it up against anyone. Nevertheless, I don't predict much excitement from the O.
  12. Well said. The man's rant is nonsense. The fact it was printed in the Rep is not surprising. There's nothing to write about down there.
  13. I like how Tom Gaffney begins his post-game ABJ article:"The University of Akron football team avoided a defeat last weekend by not playing. On Saturday, the schedule makers would not allow that to happen again. The Zips were forced into action and showed that a bye week could do little to change their fortunes." I do have to admit that I really like & respect the players for still fighting & not giving up. I know, I know, what are they supposed to do, right? But they still look like they're giving it all they've got. Honestly, I'm ashamed to admit as much, but that's a lot more than what I'd be giving at this point.
  14. Downtown Wooster has a lot of nice restaurants. It's really surprising, actually.Give me some names in Woster. Also...if you are in the Hartville area...give some names ther too :-) Thanks in advance. We go to the Hartville Kitchen once a week. They have the best fish dinner...would not have considered them for fish. Trying to get more fish in my diet so we go often. And my wife loves the sweet potato dish. Great place for families.South Market BistroOlde Joal Brewing Co.I live no more than 30 seconds from the Hartville Kitchen. Nice place. Good food, friendly service, and you're right, excellent fish! But Hartville is dry, so there really aren't that many nicer restaurants in town - mostly fast food. Carlo's Trattoria has excellent stromboli.
  15. Wow, what a mature & gracious post from MES.I'm glad you're working with high school kids! (I've more-than-once typed something out, but then deleted it before hitting "Add Reply!" )

  17. That sounds about right. The side-view seats aren't the problem I have with hockey arenas. It's the endzone seating - which is terribly far removed from the action when it comes to viewing basketball.
  18. Another article from today's (10/20/11) ABJ.
  19. Q has one important thing that all the new guys do not. He has proven performance during big games. I want him out on the floor when the game matters most.KD loves Q. He gives Q the ball in isolation & tells everyone to clear out. I don't think I've ever seen that from KD before.
  20. I agree. I'm crossing my fingers for a national-class basketball arena.
  21. Made my day with #1. You had Doug at #1.
  22. Thank you for the highlights!I'm glad to hear about the focus on OL & DL. The trenches is where the game is won. JUCO's, I'm assuming?
  23. +1.But I'd take anything over simply renovating the JAR.
  24. I like the Stroh Center much more than the JAR. But with only one level, IMHO, it still looks kind of like a glorified high school gym.I think that to really impress the high school kids, two levels is a must. One arena that is slightly larger than the Stroh Center, but which has two levels (3 actually, but it's a technicality & difficult to tell in the pictures) is Rhode Island's Ryan Center. Beautiful facility with 7,657 seats. I'd be thrilled if we could simply duplicate it.Ryan Center website
  25. From the article: The University of Akron rifle team battled Ohio State and Columbus State over the weekend. Since when is that two different schools? Well said.
