  1. Excellent work on the video! Thank you!
  2. Also, the top 2 seeds getting byes straight into the semi-final round? It actually may be nice to have a warm-up game in Cleveland before the MACC Final Four on Friday night. And actually, I love the MACC Tourney & plan my entire week around it. Now, if the Zips do better in the regular season and earn a #1 or #2 seed, that means I'll only have 2 Zips games to enjoy. Right now I don't think I'm too thrilled with the new format.
  3. There's a link on the media day thread to U Tube video of the event. Im honestly just shocked at the lack of coverage. We're on preseason update THREE for womens volleyball... They have FIFTEEN videos from the men's soccer media day up on Youtube. That's not enough for you? I had not seen that yet. I stand corrected. I mean, it's not like anyone would know about that unless they were looking for it on Youtube. Why wasn't it posted to Gozips? Or why wasn't it shared on facebook or twitter via one of the athletic department accounts? These are things people want to see but they make little effort to bring them to anyone's attention. Exactly. Its like Microsoft not advertising a new Windows release. How has the Cleveland televised media coverage been? Rat bastards.
  4. This does mean KD must have his lineup & rotations down as the conference season begins. Last year's team took the entire regular season to jel. Not that the hot team can't win anyway, but this system does reward the most consistent team. Look for Western to be the #1 seed. Ball State may get the #2 slot. The MAC East is just too brutal.
  5. Now this is a good interview. Again, I like RI's candid honesty in this piece. Makes me like the guy. Sounds like we still have place-kicking troubles.
  6. Sounds like Nicely should be the starter. IMHO unless the newcomer is clearly the superior player, the returning starter/veteran should get the nod. ABJ article says Rossi has been getting plenty of reps @ fullback d/t returning starter Austin Bailey struggling w/ an injured hamstring. Idk, Bailey is an All-MAC caliber FB. I'd still like to see Rossi line up beside Wagner. Especially w/ Firestone product Cody Grice (6-0, 240) on the roster; another FB w/ a lot of potential (at the very least Grice should be a competent backup FB).
  7. GoZips, could you elaborate on this statement? Thanks in advance!
  8. Looks like they might be able to leave him in during a reasonably close game. 4-5 from the line. That was great to see as it should give Tree a lot of confidence.
  9. He hasn't been in much, the same with the Blake and Deji. I think Dambrot was fooling us when he said he didn't care if we won or lost . You're probably right. I wouldn't want to end our trip up north with a loss either. Hopefully that lousy first quarter is our only lousy quarter of the game & enough for the coaching staff to gripe about from now till November.
  10. Gilliam is absolutely huge. Not only is he 6-5, but he's a completely chiseled 235 lbs.
  11. Has Nick Harney received much PT? I don't believe he's been in the game since I was able to get the internet feed, which was while Rico was on his personal 6-point run.
  12. That's Demetrius Treadwell a.k.a. Tree.
  13. Just downloaded Firefox 6.0 & I've got it. Thanks for the tip! Abreu has just scored 3 consecutive baskets.
  14. I've got both Internet Explorer and Google Chrome and cannot get the game on either. Anyone else having problems?
  15. I agree with this. You graduate a bunch of seniors and have a lot of unknowns coming in. Obviously those of you close to the program have a better idea than those outside of it, but to expect national publications to expect you to make a huge leap given what you've lost from the team that you had last year is unrealistic. Preseason rankings are for losers anyway. It's the one at the end of the season that matters. You guys have a shot at making some noise and if you do, everyone is going to know who you are, ranked or not. +1. In the eyes of the various distant national publications, I'm surprised they expect us to even be a .500 team after graduating 3 (basically) 4-year starters plus our backup center. The posters here on ZNO are much more informed than a national publication could realistically be.
  16. At this point, you would be telling the people of Akron they are a bunch of losers. Good luck selling that ticket. Start to win and then tell everyone the school is like them. I'm on my annual vacation in Michigan. On my way up I stopped in Toledo to scout out their new downtown arena. Though I wasn't able to sneak inside, the exterior of the arena is honestly quite impressive. It most definitely looks like a legitimate, big-time arena. (No fair! Toledo already has a beautifully renovated Savage Hall!) But another thing I noticed is that the city seems to be attempting to cultivate an identity with UT as at least a major player, possibly the central focus. On an overhead bridge leading into the city (similar to our "Akron Akron Akron Akron..." bridge coming in from the westside) Toledo has a "Toledo" bridge only uses UT's font & completes the ensemble w/ the UT "rocket" logo. It was very nicely done. I also noticed a typical city limits sign which, of course, read, "Welcome to Toledo," but again (if I remember correctly) "Toledo" was printed in the UT font & the sign was definitely complemented with the UT rocket logo. It'd be really nice if the city of Akron started idenifying w/ the U in this fashion. The more identity markers, the better IMHO. Also, GP1, if you read this, what was the name of the Grand Rapids seafood restaurant you recommended?
  17. Watch the video & look @ Q's breakaway. His right wrist is taped, so he goes all the way from half-court solely w/ his left hand & finishes w/ a left-handed layup that's smooth as butter. Impressive.
  18. I like this quote: "With training camp now headed into its third week, the offensive line under coach Mitch Browning has a chance to be a team strength."
  19. Don't think this has been posted yet.
  20. Good segment. I appreciate how candid RI is concerning tonight's lack of discipline/focus. That does give me a little cause for concern; we had waaaaay too many penalties last season. But it's still early. I'd really like to know/hear how the Lone Ranger is faring.
  21. Nick Harney was the Zips' leading scorer w/ 15. Tree had 10.
  22. Great! Thanks for the link!
  23. Nice video wrap-up here. Link courtesy of News Collector.
