  1. I was supposed to take a group of 10 middle school kids I work with to the game. Due to the weather I called off the trip, but I still went to the game myself. I am SOOOOO glad I chose to not bring the kids. What a truly AWFUL game to watch.
  2. Great find! From the last paragraph: The Lackawanna Conference landed four players on the Big 33 team – Abington Heights tight end Morgan Craig, Delaware Valley offensive lineman Brandon Clemons, Dunmore offensive lineman Paul Gaughan and Riverside running back Nick Rossi. Gaughan has verbally committed to Boston College and Rossi has done the same with Akron. Hopefully Nick can convince him to don the beautiful blue & gold as opposed to the fugly brown & orange. Come enjoy the Info, Julian! Btw, the scout profile lists Campenni @ 6-0, 260 but the article lists him at a more formidable 6-1, 285.
  3. This would be fantastic. Last year Rivals had him as a 5* recruit listed at 5'11" 185 w/ a 4.4 40. Latwan Anderson
  4. This is a very good development. I'm still dissappointed in Georgio Bowers' transfer, but maybe Nick Rossi will come in here next year and earn the starting job? We're awfully thin @ the RB position right now. (Or H-back, whatever. I still don't know what that is.)
  5. Leave the purple at home just like the red/grey. Find some Zips gear! ..... Since Jackson HS is obviously in no way a competitor of UA, I see no problem whatsoever in having them proudly wearing their school colors to UA games. Note to all Jackson Polar Bears fans: You will have no problem at all attending Zips games in your school colors. Be proud of your state championship basketball team, and feel free to come to the JAR and watch Josh Egner develop from a Jackson HS champion player to a UA champion player. We love your enthusiasm and noise level. I agree with Dave on this one. I, for one, enjoy seeing all the different schools' varsity jackets & colors being worn around the JAR (and the Info too - for the first two games! Lol.) To me it shows that UA can, and does, unite the greater-Akron area. We can all come together and be proud of our Zips!
  6. No one has ever accused me of that.
  7. Some Can't fans are talking smack in their responses to Rasor's blog.
  8. Well that should do it for DB's - at least I hope so. We've got 5 DB's in this class, with an additional two "Athletes," one coming in @ 5-9 154 and the other @ 5-7 160. We need some big uglies.
  9. Uhhh... what are you talking about? Can't's uni's?
  10. This is one reason I don't like beginning conference play w/ the Fellons. I don't know their team yet & thus don't really know what to expect from Saturday's game. Thanks for the summary! Well done, again.
  11. Thanks for keeping tabs on recruiting, Zach! Will Rodnell be eligible to play immediately, or must he sit for a year?
  12. That's the BEST recruiting joke in Zipsnation history!! On a serious note, I am encouraged that he's a wrestler (hopefully a good one). I agree. It's great that he's wrestling. It'll improve his balance, leverage & body control. Not to mention conditioning.
  13. Steve French would agree. I wasn't able to attend Monday night's game, but I listened online, and Frenchy mentioned on two separate occassions - after Abreu had been substituted for - that "the Zips are back to their old ways of running offense." He was referring to the low-scoring, pass-pass-pass-pass-pass around the perimeter & finally launch up a contested 3. Abreu for team MVP?
  14. McClanahan shooting the ball much better.
  15. Any name or idea of what style of bar?
  16. You should have flushed the money you gave to Can't down the toilet. I cannot think of a single program Can't has that is as good as what UofA offers. I cannot think of a single program at Can't that comes close to our Polymer Science School. UofA has a much better engineering school. UofA has a much better business school. My brother is a doctor and he says the best nurses around are UofA graduates. UofA has the nationally known Ray C. Bliss Institute. UofA yearly produces the highest percentage of first time bar sitters that pass the exam on the first try. I will give it to Can't that they have a first rate fashion museum . Let me say again. The only thing Can't is known for is the unfortunate matter that happened in the 1970s. That's pathetic. I have no respect for the president of Can't. I have no respect for the students at Can't. I have no respect for the sports programs at Can't. I have no respect for the faculty at Can't. I have no respect for the janitors who clean the buildings at Can't. They could bulldoze the whole place as far as I'm concerned. If Portage County went back to being a swamp, nobody would miss it. A friend of mine went to law school @ UA. Upon graduation he received the highest score in the state of Ohio when he took the bar exam. He is very intelligent, highly motivated and, needless to say, now makes a very good living. I also have an acquaintance who went to Can't, studied journalism, and is now a pizza delivery person - I'd say pizza delivery "boy" but he's almost 40!!!
  17. Very good point.
  18. Good question. I remember Bob Huggins comment/gripe about how his graduation rate at Cincy was deceptively low because most of his players would leave after 4 years (but before completing their degree work) to play in Europe. It'd be rather ironic to have a team stocked w/ academic all-americans yet have a low graduation rate. (Not an irony Huggy Bear ever had to endure. Lol.)
  19. By now I figured Zach would have found something else out about this guy (I wasn't able to find anything). Any 411 out there, Zach?!
  20. Chipotle rumored for downtown! Hopefully on the south side. Also, a new hookah bar is opening up in the Kaiser Building across from Canal Park. I believe it's called the Karma Kafe. Lux is moving into 22 Exchange. And the link also mentions the new Nervous Dog Coffeehouse that is going in next to Brubaker's Pub. Our downtown is starting to rock!
  21. My thoughts, to a tee. bobbyake, I like your style. But I must admit, I ALWAYS have butterflies before the Can't games - either basketball or football. I didn't have butterflies before the Columbus State game a few years ago. But you could probably chalk that up to low expectations.
  22. Good find & thanks for the link, kentzip. Dajour Morris sounds like another very good get! Way to go, iCoach! Go Zips!
  23. thanks for the heads up! Ill be heading over that way tonight to check it out Did anyone get a shot of this that you could post? Here ya go Ooooooooooooh! Thank you!
