  1. Does anyone know what the problem is? Another poster, who seemed to have a bit of knowledge of the situation, mentioned that Brett would be in trouble this year now that Big Brother Chris isn't around to "keep him out of trouble."
  2. 700 Thanksgiving meals to Urban League families
  3. My $0.02: I don't get into Thunderstruck much. I didn't even like the song much when it was released, in what, the early 90's?
  4. BINGO!!!
  5. How would he say he's personally grown as a player in his time @ UA? What does he like about CP as a coach?
  6. +1. And add the athletic freaks Josh Egner and Deji Ibitayo to that list! Man, is that team gonna be FUN to watch!!!
  7. Nice find, Cap'n Thank you! I guess it would have helped to have read the article!
  8. Many of JD's most highly-touted recruits never made it to UA. They were intriguing talents that most others schools were leary of due to off-field issues; similar to Erik Howard from iCoach's 1st recruiting class. I'm still getting over being jilted by Giorgio Bowers.
  9. That was some time back. I forget the story. Why didn't he ever make it to UA?
  10. Off topic, but man, this sentence got me amped up! I'm so ready for basketball to tip-off!!!
  11. Dave, excellent points. I thought Egner played his way off the red shirt band wagon as I watched his excellent performance. He brings an electric athleticism that is only matched by Quincy Diggs. Did you VOTE for AMPI today? Maybe Egner's PT was initially limited simply due to his sprained ankle?
  12. New Mexico actually won today, so that leaves as the only not so perfect team. At least we don't have to share our title with anyone else.
  13. Does anyone know whether we recruited Rossi primarily as a LB or as a RB/FB?
  14. The only thing BSU needs to worry about is the bus driver taking a wrong turn on the way to the stadium.
  15. +1. I don't see us being very good next year either. But we must simply be more competitive. The third year will be the telling season. Then, if iCoach fields a consistent contender, we'll all love him and tell people we knew he'd be a winner from the get-go.
  16. Last time I saw Tim on the court was a month or so ago at the Rec ruining the opposition. Just like this John Carroll game, you don't realize how talented Akron basketball is until you watch them play against guys who thought they were hot stuff in high school etc, etc... Yeah, I wasn't close enough to get in on that game... Although, it would be fun to see how one could fare against a legit Div. I basketball player. Tim is an awesome basketball player, just as any players are that can make it on Coach D's squad. Well said, and this couldn't be more true. This is a pet-peave of mine. The general Akron-area population is almost entirely ignorant about how good Akron's basketball players are. Most folks I talk to seem to think that if you started on your high school team, then you could play for Akron. I simply don't understand this incredibly ignorant sentiment. Did you know: The chances of playing D-1 athletics is less than 1%?! If you take 100 high school basketball (or football ) players, statistically speaking, less than one of them will be good enough to play at the D-1 level. Only 7% of high school athletes will play on any collegiate level (so those players from JCU were definitely the absolute studs of their respective teams) let alone the D-1 level. I think Akron athletics would get more respect in the community if people realized this, but, unfortunately, they don't seem to.
  17. Did Quincy Diggs play @ the 2G spot at all last night? Did it look like he could handle the 2G spot, or is he more of a SF?
  18. If I'm directing my comments at the same thing as K-Roo, and I think I am, it's a direct hit at their inability to draw attendance....whether they're bad or average. did the math and they need to average a tad over 11k for their final 3 games to reach that 90k mark. I saw the stands at the Ball State game. There were 2,000, if you rounded up. However, the box score said 16,000. With "tickets sold" being the reference number, they should have no problem with 11k/game. Local businesses are buying them up at $5/ticket, or less. I also watched much of the Ball State game and noted in a separate thread that their actual attendance was no stronger than our embarrassingly lousy attendance @ the Info this year. The general vibe I sense - and it gives me hope - is that people want to support the Zips, if given a reason to; it doesn't seem that anyone really even wants to support Can't State football.
