I agree concerning lacrosse. It's another up-and-coming sport with which Akron could get in on the ground floor & possibly become a national player. I work with kids & quite a few middle school boys are involved in lacrosse leagues. In fact, a family I know recently made the trip to see the NCAA Lacrosse Final Four. It's also becoming quite popular at the high school level. It's a fun, tough, spectator-friendly sport.

Bingo... Oh and check this out when you get a chance (around 3:08). University Park Master Plan It was shown at the UPA luncheon on Wednesday. I also was thrilled to see the rendering. We haven't heard much about an arena lately, but it's still obviously a huge blip on the radar of both the city and university.

The Cavaliers from last year would have destroyed this years tired old Celtics just like the Heat did. Not in a million years. The Cavs, other than LeBron, are/were absolutely HORRIBLE. As Mike Greenberg said this morning concerning last year's Cavs' team, other than LeBron they were a "D-League team." yeah thats why they had the leagues best record two years in a row. Precisely... with LeBron. Without him? Exactly.

I don't like giving Columbus State the satisfaction of thinking we view them as arch-rivals in soccer. We own them.

This is good news, indeed. But in the overall scheme of things (if we sincerely aim to be an elite mid-major), this is only a band-aid.

Paolos, the latest bar/restaurant to open up downtown is located near Bricco on E. Exchange. I was just wondering if anyone had been there and what they thought of our latest joint. From what I've heard, it's supposed to be a nice establishment aimed at young professionals.

I was thinking about going to the UA -vs- Pitt game @ Canal Park. Glad I decided against it.

Who was the small forward from St. V/M that went to Wyo? He's no longer on their roster. Too bad we just didn't have room for a scholly offer to Larry Jr.

Do we have any new information or updates from those able to attend tonight's basketball celebration?

Most Zips fans are trying their hardest to NOT remember anything about last year. Amen. I've thought so little about last season that I'm actually beginning to look forward to this season.

Do we know much about David's skills & best position?

+1. I put a group outing together for last year's Northern Illinois game. I was humiliated. I'm not subjecting any more casual fans to Zips' football until they become somewhat respectable/competitive. I was completely embarrassed and felt so sorry for the folks that trusted me with their time & $$$ for a fun family night. I'll still be there - every game - of course. But I'm only going with my closest friends.

I totally agree. I didn't want to pick on GoZips post which I mostly enjoyed. But I'm REALLY excited to watch Q next year. I hope he works hard because he has mad skilz! Hopefully when he gets comfortable with KD's system some other parts of his game come around to elevate him to a Mac elite. I believe "skillz" is spelled with two "L's". And yes, Q gots 'em!

According to the Plain Dealer article, turns out UMass is going to play their home game in Gillette Stadium (Patriots home) in Foxboro, far east of Amherst. "UMass will play its home games off campus in the NFL Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. nearly 100 miles away from its campus. UMass AD John McCutcheon said Gillette will be "our primary home for quite some time." Hmm. Worse than UConn. UConn is in Storrs, but plays their home football games in Hartford - about 30 miles from campus.

+1. Good to see it back at UA and the JAR. Some of the top high school prospects in the nation will be walking around our campus. I remember I was able to see Zeke play in the rec center during his junior year.

If A.J. Price is as good as we're all hoping, we really might have an excellent receiving corps this year.

That's what I was thinking. If we can't contain our own offense, those guys in Cowlumbus will just run right over us. It was also a defense that was missing 4 starters and wasn't really allowed to do much of anything because it was a spring game. Joe Bauserman looks to be the starter at OSU while Pryor is out. Pathetic doesn't even describe how awful he is. I would stack the box and make them beat us by throwing the ball. Stoneburner will be tough to defend at TE and Chris Fields will be very good. Their running game scares me, but Bauserman doesn't. I don't care who he has as receivers, he couldn't hit anyone last year. Don't forget, they were recording QB sacks simply by touching the QB. So, they had plenty of advantages that they wouldn't get under normal circumstances too. Giving up 550 years during a continuous-clock scrimmage to our offense should be ALARMING at this point of the year, when offenses tend to have very little continuity. I just don't get the lack of concern. 550 years, really, I swear sometimes I can't believe what I read here. I think that this year will be very interesting. The buckeyes are without a doubt hurt not only emotionally but physically what with losing not only there five best players which will have a trickle down effect. But when you lose your Head Coach it will effect them. If we can come out with a sense of urgency and if everyone can know there job and execute there job it will and can be interesting. We have nothing to lose, we are not expected to win so let's go out and have some fun and shock the world! Go Zips! Beware the Zipmeister.
