1. I hope Columbus State loses their first game.
2. I'll update my post and bump it up.K. C. Keeler - HC, DelawareBobby Hauck - HC, Montana
3. K.C. Keeler - HC, U of Delaware Blue HensorBobby Hauck - HC, U of Montana GrizzliesThese guys have built these respective universities into two perennial D-IAA powers.
4. Thanks. Temple's an excellent looking team. CRUSH K.e.n.t for us this week! And good luck against CMU. They're also a very good team.
5. I feel bad for the players too. You could tell so many people wanted to "boo" the coaching last night - and not a few did - but it's college and you don't want the players to get the wrong idea and mistakenly think you're booing them. Thus, the game was largely just as quiet as a funeral last night. Wow, how demoralizing. As an aside, to add to the bitter irony that has become this inaugural season @ the Info - the weather. It has been ABSOLUTELY perfect for EVERY game thus far.
6.
we will lose to BG and EMU will make it a close game and we may pull it out. as for whoever posted about us making everyone their bitches next year, he also said that we would make PSU our bitch too so hes been on something for a while. should probably check into some sort of rehab treatment center. he obviously isnt seeing what everyone else is seeing. I mean it took Temple a few years to build what they have now. Oh, i didnt get to watch the game due to the fact that i was working, but i did see the box score and noticed they put wackerly in. Was it just during garbage time, or did nicely get hurt, or whats the deal with that?

Wackerly got some pure garbage PT. Nicely is fine.
7. That's probably the worst game I've ever seen in person, and I've been following Zips football religiously for about 16 years now.
8. That's better than watching the Zips on The U.
9. Man, anyone else remember how one of Alex Allen's goals for the season was to go undefeated @ home? Poor Double-A. For that matter, poor anyone even remotely interested in Zips football.
10. Crap. Campbell was forced to rush a punt, hut a line frive & Temple returned it for a TD. 21 - 17 Temple. 6:15 till the half.
11. This would be the first night I'd say our attendance really sucks. This is the sort of crowd I'm also expecting for the EMU game.
12. Temple's loss to Villanove was shameful. They had an embarrassing collapse to end the game. If Pierce were playing back then, Temple would only have one loss - to Penn State. However, due to their weak strength of schedule, I think they're overrated and are in for a rude awakening at the Info tonight!Go Zips!
13. Zipsbandman,You said, "That's why non-football playing schools kick our butts in this conference." Am I missing something obvious? Who are you referring to?
14. I looked around LetsGoVikes.com for about 5 minutes and didn't see anything about the Akron scrimmage.Anyhow, whatever. We almost lost to Walsh in a scrimmage last season. Lol.
15. Was that really the same Zips OL we've been watching all year? Tonight we had the semblance of a running game and I don't believe Nicely was sacked a single time.
16. Man, this is why soccer scares me. Though we are clearly the best team in the nation, with a game like soccer, even we can get beat on any given night. Tight, low-scoring games; the ball bounces the wrong way once or twice...This really makes me nervous when I think about the playoffs' single-elimination format.
17. Now let's keep our fingers crossed that St.V/M's Jakaar Sampson decides to stay home & rep in the blue & gold! He'd be our 2nd 4-star recruit. And I'm hoping that at least half the hype coming out of Illinois about Ennis is true. The articles I've read essentially make him out to be Illinois' (let alone Chicago's) #1 PG. Ennis & Sampson would be a GREAT class!Stay home Jakaar! Keep it real! Go get him Willie!
18. For clarification, Ennis is presently a high school JUNIOR, right?
19. Absolutely amazing! EXCELLENT work!!!
20. Exactly. From all I've read, Egner is your high-energy, slashing, athletic, above-the-rim type of player, while Euton is your more polished, outside-shooting, fundamentally sound, if less-athletic type player.
21. With my BlackBerry I am unable to post a link. Someone else will have to do so. But in today's ABJ Zips story (and I must confess they've been faithful in their coverage of such a depressing season) this line really jumped out at me:"The defeat to NIU means that the Zips are ensured of having a losing record in 2009. It also was the 10th consecutive Football Bowl Subdivision defeat and seventh consecutive MAC loss, over two seasons."Good grief.
22. A few observations:1. Should I be as surprised as I am to see Wright State ranked so highly?2. The A-10 is not considered a mid-major conference by this poll. I suppose I'd agree with that.3. The MAC is not well represented at all. After Akron and Can't, Buffalo follows (way down the list), followed by Miami (way, way down the list) and Central Michigan (way, way, way down the list Lol).4. Anyone else remember the days (not too long ago) when we were thrilled by simply being mentioned with the other "others receiving votes" schools? Man, KD's brought us a LONG way!
23. Spot on, Hip Zip. I'm expecting to see Zeke struggle at first, be underwhelming during our first trip through the MAC East, but then start to click during our second round of MAC East games. Hey, he may be underwhelming all year, who really knows? He will, undoubtedly, eventually be a great player for us, but we will want to exercise patience.Additionally, I wouldn't get too worried over Zeke not having any blocks during our first day of scrimmages. Zeke may have (and I'm sure probably did) alterred a handful of shots without officially blocking one. If Zeke can alter shots, and get into the heads of the other team, that'll be as effective - if not as sexy - as blocking the shots.
24. So what teams represent Akron in the NBA and the NFL?I totally agree with not associating cities and not rooting for another college in Columbus. But when it comes to pro sports, i think it is natural for people in NEO to root for cleveland teams. You're right, it is. My attitude is really just sour grapes. I am simply beyond fed up with the Cleveland television media's COMPLETE ignorance of anything Akron that it's really given me a distaste for the city-up-north as a whole. Also supremely frustrating - and this is Akron's own fault - is the fact that the Zips have had such a perfect opportunity over the last 10 years of total Brown's suckiness in which to capture the hearts of NEO football fans in general, and Akron football fans in particular, and we, unfortunately, haven't done squat to capitalize on the opportunuty. Ahhh! Painful, hot button issue with me. Where's the number for my shrink?! Lol
