  1. While I'm not impressed either, remember to not put too much weight in the "stars" from recruiting sites. How many of our past 3-star guys have gone on to be actual stars?
  2. Well, good try.
  3. You're right. 3 teams in the top 10 with 2 traditional powers being way down and it's over. I am sure Nebraska will only add to the the downfall. After all, adding another traditionally top 20 team with a lot of history and tradition will only further the downfall. Since you know how the rest of the county thinks of the B10, I think the B10 should just disband and the teams should all join either the MAC, WAC or be independents. Possibly join the Big East or ACC. All of those conferences are obviously superior to the B10. That being said, the names do suck. Answer these questions: 1)How many times has the Big Ten had a winning bowl record in the last 7 years? 2)How many victories do the big 3 (Wisky, OSU, MSU) of the Big Ten have vs current top 25 teams other than each other? 3)What is the entirety of the Big Ten's record vs current top 25 teams (not including eachother)? Read the answers below, or research yourself, and tell me the Big Ten isn't overrated simply because it's the Big Ten. Now I'll admit, I'm one of the biggest Buckeye haters out there, but the numbers don't lie. The media is so far up the Big Ten schools butts that they don't realize their playing style has become obsolete except vs each other. That being said, a friend of mine summed it up perfect when I asked him what he thought of the new division names: "It's because, 'Going to Lose in the Sugar Bowl,' and 'Going to Lose in the Rose Bowl' wouldn't fit on the trophies." Answers if you don't feel like looking it up.... A1) ONCE...last year (4-3). Previous 6 years? 15-28 (.349) A2) ZERO A3) 0-2 (Alabama over Penn State, Missouri over Illinois)
  4. What a great ring it has to it...AKRON ZIPS, NCAA CHAMPIONS!!!
  5. Exactly what I was thinking. This is the high point in Akron athletics history. I could not be more proud of Coach Porter and these players. These guys deserve one heck of a homecoming. Amen! Get started, Tom! When and where is the party?
  6. Goofy grin ear-to-ear over here....
  7. They weren't checking IDs when we showed up at about 8 Friday night...I'm sure they do later in the evening. I know it won't be 21+ tomorrow for the final.
  8. Barley House knocked it out of the park. I'll be watching the Final there for sure. Great job by the management and staff (all wearing white "Zips Soccer" Ts).
  9. Had an absolute blast with my group of 8, and we'll be sure to be back tomorrow! WELL DONE! GO ZIPS!
  10. About time we see some positivity from the ultimate bitterman. "If I can change, and you can change...We can all change" - Rocky 2010 Boxing HOF inductee. See you there, go zips. Did I just get smack talked by the new guy? Welcome aboard.
  11. We certainly are a bunch of whiners on here, arent we? Quit complaining about past Suckeye experiences, come to the official watch party with your fellow Zip faithful and enjoy the game and some drinks. You're not going to be eating at 11pm anyways, right? That would be unhealthy
  12. Well done, UA. Great crowd on hand, I'd say roughly 700-1000 people in the stands in the field house. It was nice to hear Coach Porter and the team captains speak. I can certainly see how coach can inspire these guys in the locker room. He's a very well-spoken man. We are very lucky to have him and this team.
  13. At the send-off party they said, "We'll see you at Barley House for the semifinal game Friday at 11pm." I'd certainly hope the game will be on with full volume. Last year they did a great job for the final, setting every TV on the game, volume up full, and signs on the door saying that no NFL would be shown in favor of the "UA Soccer National Championship Game." Left with a positive opinion that day, despite the outcome. Hopefully they don't drop the ball this time.
  14. "low" interest in Akron from a 5'10" 155lb. undersized cb. I don't pretend to know much about recruiting, but that hardly seems magical...
  15. Temple got hosed so we can watch Georgia (6-6, 3-5 SEC) take on 10-3 UCF. Did the NCAA get rid of the rule making bowls take 8-4 and 7-5 teams first?
  16. Pretty incredible, especially because it required Nik to miss two FTs and Zeke to miss the front end of the 1 and 1 with 2.4 seconds left. I bet that pi$$ed somebody off...
  17. GO ZIPS! Great day in Zips athletics all around. Cmon SocceRoos one more win Friday and then we can repeat today next Sunday with a bball win over Temple and a Soccer NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP! GO ZIPS!!!!
  18. Oh what a horrid way to decide a game...my one dig against soccer. Come on, Zippers. BRING IT HOME!
  19. Great comeback. Now all we need are the Soccer Zips to prevail on PKs.
  20. And... just so you don't have to switch over...Akron trails UIC 32-27 with 18:40 to play in Chicago. I think we have to win first. And with a 2-2 tie...well the odds are 50/50.
  21. http://www.horizonleaguenetwork.tv/live/1867 http://www.ncaa.com/gametracker/launch/gt_...artschool=& For those of us not at Lee Jackson...
  22. Zips are 2 point favorites in Vegas. This is a must win with the difficulty of the upcoming schedule.
  23. This has me feeling a little better after that nasty taste left in my mouth after CSU. I think we can take out UIC Saturday and hopefully have some confidence going into Minnesota and Temple. Speaking of big wins, how about Miami beating Xavier late?
  24. Great win.
