  1. For the "Rowdie-Haters" because we cheer for only certain players, Rybak has a sign in production. Obviously, we take care of the seniors first, then starters, then anything that immediately pops in our heads. The "Almighty Peanut Butter Boy" gives us excitement and he is fun to chant for. "Peanut Butter Rybak Time" just doesn't work. We chant for Steve McNees and he doesn't even play!

  2. you can download the free version at the top of the page....  I'm watching the Buffalo-BG game right now.... want to see the fiasco at the end..  :D
After watching this, I'm blaming the officiating crew. I don't know what happened behind closed doors when they told "Jockitch" to come back out, but there was adequate time to tell the coach first that they were going to look at the play, then that it was going to be reversed. Also after watching this, I noticed that their student section is not what it was last year. I wonder if it's because their record is so terrible this year or because it was senior night when I was there last year.
  3. The organization of the Rowdies was not done very well this year during the football season. They just slapped the name "Roo Zoo" on front of our section and expected us to go crazy. Once basketball season started, things started to come together with more organization. When Matt "The Godfather" Newhouse left us for greener pastures, that is when things started sliding downhill after a great inaugural basketball season. I think we are back on the right track now that it is an official student organization. I was really looking forward to this season after the first "mandatory meeting," but it seemed like a lot of those people fell of the bandwagon way too early. Now that we have a couple of years under our belt, I think things can only get better.

  4. I was at the game tonight and wanted to commend the Rowdies on an awesome job!  You guys were great!  You guys put their students to shame!  Keep up the great work!!!
I agree. The Rowdies came in loud and clear on the webcast. Excellent, excellent job.I will be very honest...I didn't think the Rowdies would have a chance to stand up against the O-zone in Cleveland next week. To me, the OU fans have always been the standard-bearers for student support in the MAC. I now believe our AK-Rowdies are ready to run with the big dogs.
I actually was not impressed much by the O Zone when we went there earlier this year. There are a lot of them, but they are only loud at certain times. If anyone's ever been to Buffalo, you've seen what in my eyes is the greatest student section in the MAC...soon to be "was" the greatest student section in the MAC!

As this season has gone on, the number of "AK-Roadies" has increased a little each game. Here's hoping that next year, we can get more and more people at road games, especially the close ones. I think it's more fun to cheer at road games and not only piss off the other team, but also their fans!Plus road games seem to be where the best cheer ideas come up. We came up with a few more on the way home. They'll debut at the Q!
  6. HAHA! What a night! First off, can I say how great Yuengling is? Zips Win! We pissed off some Steelers fans! Yuengling! We also got on the radio and apparently the Internet feed! Did I mention Yuengling? Anyhoo, I think the quote of the night was after the game when we were celebrating a Duquesne fan yelled at us and asked, "Who have you beat?" To which our reply was. "YOU! By 13! At your Place! GO BROWNS!" HAHA! Great Night! By the way, I had a chance to talk to Nate Linhart very briefly as he was coming out after halftime and I asked if he would be back by the tourny. All he said was "Thursday," but I don't know if he meant this Thursday for Buffalo or Thursday for the tournament. Go Zips!

  7. By the way, the scissor chop worked. We used to put our arms up, and our free throw shooting was terrible. Then we moved them down and it progressed a little bit. Then it eventually got worse. When we did the scissor chop, we seemed to hit more of the free throws. Hopefully we can ride that through that tourny and not have any more problems. Who are you calling superstitious?
