Excellent post and well said. I tried to say something similar last night but my friend JP told me i was full of crap about the past. Sure LO and Faust have an impact and so do former players of recent past. Except for the true freshmen all of these kids were here in the Charlie Frey era. They watched how thoese guys handled themselves and filled back up roles, all culminating in the victory last night. It takes W's and more than just a few to develop a solid program.

If they had announced it after the game ended, would their announcement been different? I say yes cause they were besides themselves when Hixon came back in for the last play after showing him on the sidelines on his back. Just pulled the trigger too quickly is all .

JP , not interested in any kind of pissing contest but the past does dictate and serve to shape the future. Tonight is the night to celebrate a MAC chanpionship. Kudos to the players, coaches, trainers, UAM, the administration et al. Bring that trophy home and show it off proudly. Trico and Herby pulled their MVP player trigger too soon, it should have been Hixon, notwithstanding the almost 300 yds rushing. Hind sight is always 20/20 though.

First, congrats to the Zips. They did play a great game and this game and the next will be a major shot in the arm for this program. I do think the past players, coaches and administration have a purpose and whether anyone else believes it played some kind of role in this event. Good lluck in the Motor City Bowl against whomever. I tolked to 78 last night and he along with 42 and Big Gris and Paul O , Ritley and other assorted characters will be tailgating before the game and will set up camp in the Beer Garten during the game. You need a lot of anifreeze to get through this one. I do not know if ESPN will pick up the game down here (Columbus) but I will be there in spirit with all of you former players and ZipsNation members . Padre this is for you I love you man !

Another country heard from is back Thank you CK for your report and my buddy Z-P was as usual, thats why i love you man. I thought there was a bit too much PMA (usualy a necessary requirement) but thinihg so far ahead to a MAC championship game and a bowl after beating NIU. Z-P i hope you were not giving urself a flushie after that game. This is a program on the rebound. It takes time and most importantly it takes W's. If the spirit on this Board drove the mindset of the team and staff in the CMU game then this Board is to blame. IMHO, everyone took CMU too lightly. They beat MU now UA and they played Indiana tough at home. I remember a cold Octtober day up there freezing my ass off and watched the Chips whip up on the Zips big time only to see LO and PW do what they should have done that entire season was run the ball down everyones throat and wip the Chips badly in the end. As CK said, there are more games. OU is no pushover. The Buffs up there play UA tough. Cant is Cant and then there are Miami and BG. Hang in there Zips. I cannot help with the crowd issues. If i had my choice between going to the dark ugly cold RB (notwithstanding CK's tailgate) and a warm family room and a TV, ...........game over! A 1:45 hour drive makes my decision easier though. Dantonio's team was not prepared to play the Redsquat's . They started a comeback but were down too far. IMHO Miami did not look that good.

i don't know how to do the quote thing, But I think soimeone is right and someone is wrong. The game was against Miami and that was in 04. But 78 did sometimes get flipped over on the left side either inside or outside the left tackel, whoever was playing on that play. It certainly looks like him. Oh my Padre you are MOTO (Master of the Obvious) that pic is from 03 and in fact it is 78 himself in the flesh. I could go for some more of those myself.

Another country heard from here on this thread: Fact-61 was the best lineman last year. I am very surprised he did not get any mentions. He was a pre season Rimington candidate also. I hear an agent sought him out and maybe there is something down the road. I for one hope so As for the other former Zips now Brownie "projects" time will tell. I hope their work ethics carry them a long way. Little Gres is a mystery. Only played one year, but he has the bloodline, the body, now if he can play his heart out and become a warrior. 5 will win the job eventuallyt once he gets the chance. Watched the entrie game and when 5 got his chane in the thrid series, he took over than game. Orton got another shot to start the second half but by then it was 5's game. Probably a good thing the Connecticut kid was sick or 5 mihgt have been sucking total hind tit and not gotten a channe like the Arkansas kid for the South. 5 showed what he is made of, did UA and the MAC proud. Feels kind of good knowing someone who will be one of the next wave of millionaires. Well done my friend. (these are for the Padre)

Well if you have been watching/listening to ESPN on the Alamo Bowl game last night, there is trouble in Tinsel Town (OSU) with an athletic "Booster". I am very close to this situation and know first hand about a lot of the crap that went on, although i am not any way shape or form a part of it. It is just plain ugly. Tressel and Geiger maight not survive this one. For those of you interested , and know how to contact me, and want the skinny, you know what to do.

I only watched the last 5-10 minutes of the first half, but did see the fight and ejections. I thought MSU had the game i in hand and went to bed. I guess it was really shitty in the second half huh? Griz will have his hands full against the Sack Monster. Last year 78 did a decent job of containing him. I think Griz is up to the challenge. The turd are overrated and their 3 point loss to the Pukeeyes is almost a joke compared to what that crappy team has done in the past 5 weeks. I agree with the Captain's prediction.
