When was the the last time the MAC split? When Marshall and UCF left for Conference USA.Oh, I should have realized you had a unique definition for the word "split" too .
-
Let's get after those upperclassmen to put out a depth chart so the kid doesn't hurt himself.

If this one turns out anywhere near as well as the first, I'm all for that policy. Maybe we should start going after receivers named Catch.

In 2015, which of the following conferences will have any interest in having Akron as a member?MAC Big EastConference USA I-AA/FCS Other newly created conference Other

I think they have special buses for people who need to find the stadium. They are short and yellow and come with a complementary helmet.MaxZIP - It seems that most individuals who post on this site choose not to demean or defame others. You, on the other hand, choose to demean individuals with developmental disabilities for the sake of what you consider a cheap laugh. I will presume you simply had a brain cramp; if not, I would respectfully request that you keep your discriminatory comments to yourself next time.Yes. How insensitive of you MaxZIP - you big brute.

I was told "Not at this time, possibility for the future"That sucks. The scoreboard in the picture looks very classy. One thing that I think looks a little goofy is that the support poles for the railing at the edge of the stands run perpendicular to the slope of the stands (rather than perpendicular to the ground as shown in the renderings). I don't recall any other nice venue with this particular look.....Goofy.

I think it would be a combination of facilities and coaching that would have been a factor in his decision. If that bit of wisdom doesn't elicit a Zipmeister reply, I will be sorely disappointed. Now Now Capt. We all know that he was just simplifying the age old football signing model which states that signing is a function of facilities, coaching and other factors. It would have been more impressive if he had detailed components in the "other" category and specified coefficients for all terms in the model. But even if he had done that you would probably be on his case for not specifying the functional form, whether any tests had been conducted to measure the degree of multicollinearity in the model or whether the error terms were hetreoskedastic.

I'd like to see someone (can't get up the nerve to do it myself) put this same poll up for the Morgan State game alone. I just can't see it drawing over 20k. MORGAN STATE? You've gotta be kidding me. And if you think 25,000 people will show up just for an "event", and not care about the opponent, then why don't we still have the Acme Zip Game? This shows just how wily Hunter is. Hunter knows. You really don't think an event will draw more than 20? The first game, in a brand new stadium? Ok, I don't understand your logic. The ACME Zip game went away because the University didn't make anything off of it, not because attendance numbers dropped. ACME made all the money, donated a measily amount to the school and smiled all the way to the bank. The opponent isn't going to matter one bit for the first game of a brand new stadium.OK Ricky, you got some splaining to do. Exactly how did Acme make money sponsoring the Acme Zip game?

Kid,If you want to make a suggestion to teh A.D., why not contact teh athletic department? They have a phone and email. I believe this would give you mroe of a chance of having your opinion heard by the person you say tha you want to hear it. I'm pretty sure if you tell them they should be mroe agressive, they will be.

Agree. Let it get established for a year.Maybe they could paint A K R O N on the grass in big white block letters, kind of in homage to the Rubber Bowl/Fulton Airport.http://www.flickr.com/photos/98131992@N00/3524581902/You know that is a great idea! I doubt they would fit but it would be cool to take the actual concrete from the RB.That would look cool....like Folsom Field in Boulder.....Paint would kill the grass. Lets put it in block letters with concrete. That would give the students something extra easy to slip on. Future phone call....."Hi Mom, I just paid for the rest of my education and living expenses for the rest of my life.........split my head open on the concrete K on the hill behind the south endzone."

You are correct. As I recall the athletic department, in an attempt to boost attendance that year, also started a rumor that a door had been installed on one of the men's room stalls.Acutally, back in 2006, some of the more thoughtful members of this very board offered some good marketing ideas to boost attendance and meet the requirement. Not sure any were implemented, but you can reminisce here [insert broken record sound track]:http://zipsnation.org/forums//index.php?showtopic=3316Well whoever suggested counting invisible people as part of the attendance figure, which occurred a lot towards the end of that season, is a marketing genius.

Apparently you aren't spending enough time in the local watering holes.

Not sod. It doesn't work on a sloped bank. That's what they've said. Grass seating won't be available this season. Fall is a good time to plant grass. It lies dormant over the winter and begins to grow in the spring. It should be ready for 2010.Wrong.

Marketing effort sightings

That's why the brothels out in Nevada do so much advertising. -
Believe me, we were never competing with Marshall for an A.D. Good news for Hamrick ... no more money wasted buying shoes.

Oh No. If the ribbon board is in, that means thet will be removing the handicap seating platforms soon. There goes my day job for this fall.

I think the scoreboard is big enough to put a camera on top of it, and they can use the endzone building, too.i figured theyd be putting one on top of the scoreboard... but the endzone building is too close. Look at the second cam; even at the height that the cam is at (something like 60 feet or so), it still cant even see the goal post's crossbar. It's amazing what different camera lenses can do.
-
The coaches will want the scoreboard (more specifically, the clocks) operating in time for practices.Figure they'll also be putting up the poles and nets to catch the extra point and field goal kicks? Two of the coaches bought wrist watches so the scoreboard clock will not really be required for practice.

Video boards awaiting installation? Looks like there are a few in the same spot on the west bowl.I think those platforms might be the base for handicapped seating areas. If you look at the seating diagram on the Tickets page of the UA website, there are rectangular lines at the back of lower sections 101 through 113 on the east side, and sections 108 through 120 on the west side. You are correct. That is handicap seating.I just want you to know the above was not all that I wrote. It was edited by someone other than myself. Apparently the moderator took offense at the possibility I really had been hired to throw people in wheelchairs over the concrete wall and onto the platforms.
