  1. Thanks for the pics.
  2. Because you can't just count the seats when the SRO is actually preferred by the more crazy students. They're willingly not sitting in a seat but they're certainly contributing to attendance.Oh! So that makes it a 33,000 seat facility. Couldn't we squeeze in another 10K in SRO? Then we could have a 43K facility. And we all know what that would be .................................... pimptastic.
  3. Why are people so reluctant to call it a 25,000 seat stadium? Space for 8,000 SRO doesn't change 25K into 33K seats. Let's be proud that we have the best 25,000 seat stadium in Ohio.
  4. Lighting will only be on the west side of the stadium. On the east side, they will be installing a state of the art system of mirrors to provide light from that side. These mirrors also will be connected to rechargeable batteries that will power the scoreboard.
  5. Too late. I already suggested that last April first.
  6. R U saying gman17 is a dead horse or our lord and savior?
  7. All true but let's keep in mind that it takes an agreement between two parties to schedule. If bigger name programs see us as extremely dangerous but we at the same time lack national noteriety then scheduling the Zips is really a "no win" situation for them. That is why I personally think the Zips need to concentrate on getting into the best neutral site tournaments they can get into every year and then hopefully play their way into a very good BracketBusters matchup also. I'm not saying to give up on more competitive scheduling in addition to that but I think that is the area where the biggest strides can be made without just throwing the team into a gauntlet like Miami runs every year.Another strategy is to keep track of local high school kids who end up at big time programs. Occasionally you should be able to talk the big time program into playing at AU so the local kid can play in front of his old crowd. You may (as in probably) have to agree to a 2 and 1, but at least you get a name program in the JAR. Unfortunately, once you beat the big time program at your place it will be extremely difficult (but not impossible) to get another one to show up.
  8. Voting to bring a school in for football only based on their basketball team. I can't argue with that logic. Don't understand it, but I can't argue with it.
  9. wordto your mother.I'm not certain what that means, but I'll tell Mom you said Hi.
  10. How did that Valpo game turn out?
  11. Something like this would look pretty cool I think, though I like the permanent brickwork more. What do you guys think? That really does look sharp, or should I say PIMPTASTIC.
  12. Gee, it's hard to believe Rivals would make a mistake like this. Was the dateline April 1?
  13. Well, I figured since I posted something there would be a negative comment below. I see I am correct.I never said the entire school was anti-american. I said Can't fans at the basketball game booed. THOSE fans showed anti-americanism. They didn't all boo, but a LARGE portion of their fan base did. I am sure I wasnt the only person there that night. Can you think of any other incident where a schools fans booed service kids? I sure as hell can't.How about the UofA black students who sat in the bleachers under the flag at bball games back in the 70s and refused to stand for the national anthem? Not booing, but might as well have been.
  14. WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! this entire stadium is now a failure. on a serious note.thanks for all the support but before you go showering me with to much love you should know that I have an MOS that will probably never even see a deployment but I am still proud to have my little piece in the pieOn the other hand, we really don't want details regarding the size of your piece.
  15. no arrests, no NCAA violations.
  16. Reminds me of the Canadian expressing his affection to the cute zoo keeper."Of all the animals here at the zoo I love your beaver allot."allotOne entry found.Main Entry: Function: transitive verb Inflected Form(s): al·lot·ted; al·lot·tingEtymology: Middle English alotten, from Anglo-French aloter, from a- (from Latin ad-) + lot, of Germanic origin; akin to Old English hlot lotDate: 15th century1 : to assign as a share or portion <allot 10 minutes for the speech.2 : to distribute by or as if by lot <allot seats to the press.— al·lot·ter noun
  17. Get your tickets herehttp://www.ticketsnow.com/InventoryBrowse/...kron?PID=862510
  18. So a flush, Buckeye, Orange, and Mountaineer fall somwhere between the two? They're not Div-1, but I was always a little intimidated by the Battling Bishops of Ohio Wesleyan.Ouch, just reading that made me tremble. I sure don't want to be around when the Battling Bishops take on the Quakers.
  19. Well when will the players being putting out their own depth chart? Me and the kid want to know.
  20. Hey Over - which of BSUs minor sports accounted for the bulk of the $5,293,108 in revenue you think they generated, men's volleyball or women's field hockey? Akron doesn't have either of those sports and we could use the cash.
  21. Which leads us back to the main point..... the Big 10 would never expand into Canada - so with Buffalo being in Ontario, that leaves the Bulls out in the cold. (conducting tons of research of course)
  22. Trying to be realistic, if Akron did better than 2-22 against the ACC and Big 12, I would be impressed.
  23. Other than Iowa State, which Big 12 teams do you think Akron could beat?
  24. I'm not so sure about the success of Rhodes. Have you heard anything he has done about promoting season ticket sales for the rifle team? They're offering a family package for only $2500. That includes four tickets to every Zips home match, parking pass, transportation and tickets to the 2010 WIRC Championships, and an Anschutz 2002 autographed by 2009 NCAA Air Rifle Champion Jenna Compton. The VIP season ticket package includes the above plus the option to purchase beer at each event for a reasonable $3000 (plus $500 donation to the Z-Fund per ticket). Those are the fanciest pair of glasses I have ever seen. The bridge seems a bit excessive. It looks like its all that poor girl can do to keep them on her face.
