I had no idea nascar had a playoff system. Maybe if Matt's team ends up one game short of making the playoffs they can schedule a late season game against the Huskers.
I still think it's a great idea, but all 4 teams have to agree, and my guess is Nebraska won't want to lose their open date the week before the Ohio State game (there is ,however, the smallest possibility that my guess may be incorrect).
The QB the Huskers, Tanner Lee, "lost" to the NFL was cut last week. That is a shame given his performance in college. He would have had the highest completion rate in college football last year (as well as career completion percentage at Tulane and NE) if they just would count completions to the other team in that stat. The odds are extremely high that the Huskers freshman QB is a significant upgrade from Tanner.
Having obtained degrees from both schools, I follow both progrums fairly closely (and certainly follow the Huskers more closely than anyone else on this board). They may not be special this year, but they will be soon. They are dramatically improved and good enough now to beat the Zips going away. When Morgan State beats the Zips this week, I'll finally concede that the Zips could have beaten the Huskers.
Go Zips
This is the third game the Huskers have ever cancelled and the last time was back in the 40s so not having such a provision is a little easier to believe.
Hopefully, but also unlikely, they have insurance to cover such a contingency.
On another note, I must admit I was wrong and you guys were right.
Never in my wildest dreams would I think the Zips could hold the Huskers scoreless for over 2 hours.
While the Zips may try to pee in the Husker's Friday Flakes, I'm afraid they will will forget to open their flies before commencing the relief process.
Go Zips.
For those who appreciate irony, I think a contributing factor to Martinez selection was the coaches fear that he would transfer if not selected as the starter.
Hope Gebbia doesn't live to regret his move. Turner Gill, the best (what is now called a duel threat) QB ever at Nebraska started his soph. year as 3rd string. Injuries to the two guys ahead of him made him the starter just a few games into the season.
Somebody is going to get one hell of a QB in Gebbia
Husker media keeping an eye on their opponent; scan down to "opponent watch."

I have changed my prediction. If the Huskers pull their first AND SECOND units before the start of the second quarter they will NOT cover the spread.
Go Zips.
He was definitely one of NUs top 5 RBs (probably top 2 with good knees), but was getting limited reps in practice, and Frost said he would be on a "pitch count" during games because of his injury. They just awarded 3 walk-ons a scholarship including one RB.
The new system was announced two days ago, so my bet is two days ago.
If we are basing the bet on when his complaint shows up in the media, I'll go with next Monday (8/27?18).
