  1. So they only had 5 more people than us in the away bleachers?
  2. Attendance looked pathetic on TV; I've seen more people at a funeral. Go Zips
  3. If someone told me before the game that Akron would miss an extra point, have a punt attempt blocked, allow 34 points, have two players ejected early, and suffer a gazillion yards in penalties, and still win I would have been incredulous. Nice to see the Zips actually look good on national TV. Go Zips
  4. I remember (I think it was in the 70s) a heavy coed tripped while bowling in the student center lanes. Upon landing, her weight was great enough to lift one of the lane boards which speared her leg and then the board basically went back in place pinning her to the lane. I can't recall if she was penalized for the line fault, but I do recall firemen had to cut up the lane to free her. If they are still doing that kind of stuff how is a football team to compete for student attention.
  5. Your Mariachi strategy is probably the best idea you have ever shared with us. The only modification I suggest is that two friends in similar attire accompany him just in case they run into El Guapo.
  6. I am for equality for tranies, but that stuff in the link you provided just goes to show you can't trust everything you read on the Internet.
  7. Zips over Pitt by 11, Pitt over VaTech by 5 (tonight). VaTech over Tosu by 14. Therefore, Zips would handle Tosu by about 30 if they played this year.
  8. Line is down to 3, over under down to 42. Give the points, and (going out on a limb) take the over.
  9. According to an inspirational movie starring the great Kathy Lee Gifford, you would be correct. If the quarterback is left-handed, you could argue it's the right tackle. Some people might also argue that getting the ball to the QB is fairly important and, therefore, believe the center is the most important position. and on and on and on
  10. All this back and forth is going to confuse the Bobkitten fans. To summarize the discussion to this point for their benefit....... Our first string quarterback has suffered either a head quadricep injury or an ankle MCL tear. His backup will be lucky to throw the ball within 10 feet of our receivers, and you don't even need to cover one of our receivers because he is so tiny he should be working in a circus. We don't stand a chance against you guys. Please be merciful..
  11. Our two questionable compares favorably with Ohios fourteen questionable or out. I'll bet Woodson can heft the long ball, and with five of their safeties questionable or out recommend that he do so on more than one occasion.
  12. Bring in Hoyer.
  13. Whoever is coaching celebration is doing a terrific job. 5 for 6 inside the red zone. If our 4 game trend continues at its present pace, next week we should get this stat over 100%.
  14. Good possibility this contest will be a sell-out.
  15. 8,223 Someone must have taken the yard sale signs down early.
  16. UAs latest promotional effort (fake "yard sale" signs posted outside stadium) bumps attendance to an even 14K.
  17. Sounds like we could be as high as number three on his list.
  18. Shockingly low 53% so far this season (hey we're better than EMU & Kansas). May not be the most critical stat for success, however, at least for the Zips. In the three seasons in which the Zips had ONE win each, their percentages were 81, 80 and 85.
  19. No news is good news I guess.
  20. Maybe the UMASS coach didn't have a lot of confidence in his FG kicker. If the kid came in and missed another chip shot he may have given up the game (which might not be a bad decision). http://www.sbnation.com/lookit/2014/9/13/6145113/umass-kicker-misses-crucial-field-goal-gets-a-vanderbilt-hug
  21. Fixed it for you.
  22. Wouldn't it have been easier to just say that you now recognize that a trend does not tell you where you are going?
  23. I have not unfortunately, but hope to soon. Players who look up at the stands and wave at the spectators to make more noise have latent cheerleader tendencies.
  24. Most college athletes I knew were too interested in competing to worry about the size of the crowd.
  25. A trend does not tell where you're going. A trend is a general direction in which something is developing or changing. It is based on historical data and there is no guarantee the trend will continue in the future. Although in this case I hope it does.
