  1. Nice to see Eric Stevenson show up a number of times in Cincy's video submitted with their application for MLS expansion.
  2. Kudos again to TennZip for pointing me to this article...http://www.phillysoccerpage.net/2017/02/03/transcript-jim-curtins-preseason-conference-call/comment-page-1/ On Adam Najem Yeah, he’s been excellent in training. He gets goals and assists, which I already knew about — you just have to look at his statistics to know that he can do that. He’s shown in the short time with us that he can do that at the MLS level. He’s been very strong in each and every training session, and actually has an ability to cover more ground and do the defensive work that we ask our no. 10 to do, even more so than I anticipated. So, high on him, hopefully, we’ll see what’s coming in the next couple of days. Adam has done everything to show very well, has made it clear that he wants to be a Philadelphia Union player just by being here. Hopefully something can come of that in the coming days. But I’ve been very impressed. Good kid, humble kid, quiet, incredible work rate and ability around the goal to score and set up goals that is special. Guys that are in our league who’s not the biggest, you think of a Mauro Diaz — I think I described him at dinner the other day as a Mauro Diaz-Benny Feilhaber combo. Again, that’s getting ahead of ourselves, but you can kind of think of the attributes of those two guys with the similar size to a Diaz, for a young kid. Again, don’t say I’m calling him the next Mauro Diaz, because that’s a little fast. But he’s done very well, and for the people who maybe don’t know what he’s about, that would be a comp of skill sets that I see.
  3. Thanks Scott. I love reading how much NYG fans loved our guys. The last SuperBowl I enjoyed was when the NYG with Hixon & Blackburn won it. Unfortunately, I agree with your other comments.
  4. So, let's forget the 3 Zips who have SuperBowl rings, huh? NFL careers aren't necessarily long. I'd say Dwight Smith, Domenik Hixon, and Chase Blackburn were good NFL players and made good use of their time in the league...HoF caliber or not.
  5. My two cents: Looking at Wikipedia, TO appears to have a more extensive set of statistics, but JT seems to do better on character Jason Taylor, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jason_Taylor_(American_football) 5 Personal Life 5.1 Foundation Terrell Owens, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terrell_Owens 5 Controversy 5.1 Controversy with Eagles 5.2 Desperate Housewives skit 5.3 2006 Hydrocodone overdose 5.4 Spitting incident 9 Other work 9.1 The T.O. 6. Eric Stevenson's goal up for USL Goal of the Year. Voting for the final round is now open and will continue through 9:00 AM ET on Monday, February 13. Vote here
  7. I think MLS is doubtful at this point, although Kofi Sarkodie was picked up by the Earthquakes after the start of the 2016 preseason, if I recall correctly. Perhaps a lower level team here in the US or Canada or a team somewhere in Europe. If Europe, I'm thinking perhaps like Zarek Valentin did for awhile before joining TimbersFC.
  8. DeAndre Yedlin is making noise for Newcastle United ...Is Yedlin the best right-back that Newcastle United has right now? Absolutely. Is he one of the best of all time? No. But he certainly is one of the best we’ve had in decades....
  9. Sounding good for Adam. Jim Curtin is Union Head Coach. I wish they would finalize a deal already.
  10. Credit to @TennZip for finding this article... DeAndre Yedlin may be the second most valuable NUFC player

  12. Chad is out of contract and no longer with CrewSC. Only 1 former Zip remains in Columbus.
  13. Love the twitter replies to this one ^ Match Report ...And, right at the death, Bent met Jacob Butterfield’s corner at the back post, but DeAndre Yedlin managed to prevent the forward’s goalbound effort from crossing the line. ...
  14. Parchman: Why Darlington Nagbe shouldn't be judged on goals and assists ...The reality, though, is that Nagbe is a wholly different sort of player. He is a tactical marvel unto himself, and perhaps shifting the locus of concern specifically off what he does on the scoresheet and onto his concrete impact on the flow of the match itself will utterly change his perception. And it should. ...
  15. Not sure if this was posted previously or if it belongs in this thread, but great video by a great former Zip... http://stevezakuani.com/
  16. No. Look at the picture. Daniel Strachan is the only player wearing a Zips hat.
  17. Nothing definitive yet... Report: Philadelphia Union hopes to have "final news" on Adam Najem this week
