  1. I hope the NCAA is proud of that crap show. Horrible field, horrible referee, horrible soccer, and the champion of PK's. Awful.
  2. If MLS Cup final and College Cup are going to be on the same weekend, perhaps they should both be in the same location...probably not a good idea. Actually, I don't understand MLS Cup final and College Cup in same weekend this year. I'm glad that didn't happen last year so that I could attend both.
  3. Outscored 16-1 to end it...ugh!
  4. Talen Energy Stadium. http://www.philadelphiaunion.com/stadium
  5. Things have been very quiet on the recruiting front. Throughout the season, it seemed there were potential recruits making visits; however, I have no specifics.
  6. I'm very sorry to hear this, but not completely surprised. It was apparent throughout the season that Nick Costa was the 2016 backup and that both Jeremy and Tor Saunders were redshirting. I have not seen Tor play, but I liked Jeremy's performance in the Spring. Great young man. Great parents. If he is transferring, I still wish him the best. With 4 GK's, I expected to lose at least 1; maybe 2.
  7. Why is the field in Houston in such poor shape? MAPFRE Stadium's field looked immaculate for MLS Cup last December in Columbus. The field in KC for the College Cup last December looked much better, too. The Dynamo should be embarrassed.
  8. Amazing, Jonathan Lewis just got a Congratulations to University of Akron Soccer's Jonathan Lewis who was named to the US U-20 team... on Channel 8's sports at about 6:26 pm tonight. Always happy to hear our guys mentioned by the Cleveland sportscasters.
  9. Seems to me that the toilet paper toss would be more appropriate for the Kant game...Flushes.
  10. I know "Buffalo's in Canada" (per the AK Rowdies), but Seattle?
  11. After six years in MLS with the Portland Timbers, Darlington Nagbe would be well served by a move to Europe this winter. ...Before you start debating the merits of going from MLS to the Scottish Premier League, you must first understand that Celtic is the league's powerhouse, a UEFA Champions League regular, and a team with rich history and a large, passionate fan base. It is also a team stacked with talent. If Nagbe has aspirations of climbing the ladder of European soccer, then joining Celtic would be a strong first step. This reality is what drove a talent like French forward Moussa Dembele to join Celtic last summer. Playing for Celtic would mean more European scouts watching him than currently watch him in MLS. Celtic is running away with the Scottish League title, and could have it essentially clinched before Nagbe would arrive, but there will still be important matches to play, such as the Old Firm derby against Rangers, and tough matches against the likes of Hearts and Aberdeen. It is a safe bet Nagbe has consulted with close friend and former college teammate Perry Kitchen, who left MLS for Scottish club Hearts last winter. Kitchen has enjoyed an excellent first year in Scotland, earning the captain's role for a Hearts team currently in third place. Kitchen's positive experience in Scotland could be the final evidence Nagbe needs to convince him a move to Celtic would be a worthwhile one. ...

  13. Brad Ruhaak is scheduled to be the student speaker at the UA Fall 2016 Graduation ceremony that includes the College of Engineering. Saturday, Dec. 17, 2 p.m. College of Applied Science and Technology College of Engineering College of Health Professions Wayne College Student speaker: Bradley Ruhaak, Williams Honors Scholar, B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
  14. It certainly was a match for those (probably all, if not most of us) who love to see a lot of scoring. The Impact's defending on set pieces certainly was the most atrocious that I've ever seen. I read somewhere that it was noted this is the 2nd year in the row that a Cascadia Cup team (Seattle, [Portland, Vancouver]) travels to a Trillium Cup team (Toronto, [Colimbus]) for the MLS Cup Final.
  15. It was very entertaining, and I too, was disappointed that Evan didn't have a stellar game like he had had several times in the season for the exact same glimmer of hope. Also, the MLS Cup Final would be much more interesting to me with at least 1 former Zip player involved.
  16. Check the Browns attendance these days. The majority of the significantly less than capacity crowd show up for the other team not the gameday experience. Edit: Also, I'm not the one beating a dead horse. I was mocking those stating that those things would put their butts in the seats even with a lousy game/opponent. Fans show up to the K.ent game because of the game not the arena or the sideshows.
  17. I guess I'm a relic at my age ... I still like to go to a game for the game, and when I'm there I like to be sociable and talk with my friends during times out and half time.
  18. The game stinks because the opponent sucks and I get splinters in my butt on the bleaches, but the lighting, sound system, and half time entertainment are awesome so I'll be there. Really?
  19. I'm with you skip-zip. I prefer having something for a Zips player in my collection. I got the LeBron bobblehead that went with the KD bobblehead and gave it to a kid who politely asked for it after the game. Who knows, he may have gone off and sold it, but I like to think that it meant something to him...much more than it would have to me. I'm ecstatic that LeBron is the guy who brought the first championship in 52 years to Cleveland, but I don't collect LeBron memorabilia. I have the Dru Joyce and Romeo Travis bobbleheads, but not the LeBron. I have the Charlie Frye (missed the Jason Taylor, I guess) and also the DeAndre Yedlin bobbleheads. Hoping they will do a series of Mens soccer player bobbleheads...Darlington Nagbe, Scott Caldwell, Chad Barson, etc., and perhaps a Caleb Porter. I even bought a Teal Bunbury (Sporting KC) bobblehead for a reasonable price on eBay.
  20. MAC schools scheduling NAIA and DIII schools ensures the MAC is even less than average.
  21. And the question of why the MAC only gets 1 ticket to the dance will come up eventually yet again this season. Bookmark the answer herein.
  22. 8 matches in slightly under 8 months (between 24 March 2017 and 10 October 2017). Thank goodness for January camp.
