I wonder when they will add the "ero" as in Z logo is a big zero, or Zero wins in the NCAA Tournament. Actually, the new floor does look nice, even though I'm no a fan of the Z logo. Now fix the darn seating!

Here's hoping the Crew is awarded home field in the fourth round of the USOC. Would love to see the match at First Energy Stadium-Cub Cadet Field again. -

Michigan Bucks (PDL) 3, Detroit City FC (NPSL) 0 In one of the most anticipated matches of the First Round, perennial U.S. Open Cup power Michigan Bucks grabbed two early goals from Nick Wysong and Peri Marosevic in the seventh and ninth minutes respectively. Threatening throughout the first half, the Bucks found a third goal on the hour mark with Brad Ruhaak’s long distance strike and easily handled their NPSL neighbors in the second half to earn a 3-0 victory. Next up for the Bucks is a Second Round date with Portland Timbers 2, set for May 20 at Ultimate Soccer Arenas in Pontiac, Michigan. -

Upon further research, I found this New Zealand Football Regulation 5 Status of Players which states on page 5, Section 3.1 "All football played under the jurisdiction of NZF and its District Federations is amateur ..." Wanderers SC is under the jurisdiction of NZF EDIT: I should have read further before posting this. It appears that one can reacquire amateur status in New Zealand. Although I'm confident that Stuart has never become a professional, and there is no issues, I have to admit that I no longer think this and the other links I posted can be considered conclusive. -

I think that whomever posted that hasn't done enough research on New Zealand Football. If you look at Wanderers SC, the entire squad is under 20 years old. Also, it seems that "premiership" as in ASB Premiership does not necessarily have the same meaning as in other areas. Finally, if you look at Regulation 10 ASB Premiership, page 13, section 18, it talks about Amateur Player Agreement. This doesn't appear to me to conflict with NCAA eligibility rules. Also, I believe the BigSoccer poster identified that Stuart played for the NZ team in question in January. If playing for that team was an eligibility issue, Stuart would not have been able to participate in the spring matches with the Zips. -

PDL is a development league in the summer. Timbers U23s are part of the Timbers development system. Just like DeAndre was a member of the Sounders Academy and played for the Sounders U23s in the PDL, Jesse and Anthony are members of the Timbers Academy and will play for Timbers U23. Btw, Saad and Victor played for the Timbers U23s. Jesse and Anthony will be back in the Fall just like DeAndre, Saad, and Victor returned to the Zips. -

Like it or not, football's stinking has/had nothing to do with the "A-Roo" logo. Football went to it's only D-1 bowl with the A-Roo, as Zach pointed out. We all know why football sunk to its lowest point, and no logo change could cover that stench. Akron made one change toward fixing it; perhaps the other needed change will occur this Fall with a simple contract expiration. No action required.

...one and only team National Championship. I believe it is also associated with our individual National Championships, in rifle and track & field, as well. "losing period in our Athletic Department"??? - Sorry Zippy5, I don't get that.

You're opinion. Not mine or many others. Much better than the old A or moving A and way ahead of the Z(ero).

Why wouldn't it be? The one thing of which I'm unsure is how much of the messaging is outside his control. So, I don't want to harp on him too much. However, regarding the goZips.com post to which I originally referred, it wouldn't have been so bothersome to me if a few links were released each month rather than waiting until April to post links as far back as December. I would hope that goZips.com could release information that is fresher than that.

http://gozips.com/sports/msoc/2014-15/releases/20150416r9p6g4 How PATHETIC is it that the Zips Mens Soccer Sports Information Director has to dig up stories (links) as far back as Dec 11, 2014? If someone doesn't know by now that Saad was at the MLS Combine and drafted by Sporting KC, then that person isn't a Zips Mens Soccer fan or doesn't care. Where's the recruiting class announcement? I don't care if the recruiting class isn't completely finalized due to whatever issues still are in work, if any. Publish the information about those who are officially signed (NLIs). Then update it later like we used to get. Is Victor Souto's post-season suspension done or not? It was originally 2 NCAA Tourney games, as I understood it via the grapevine. (We never did get the information.) We only had 1 NCAA Tourney game last year. I think it may done, however, and it won't be carried into this season, but why can't the SID inform us. I don't think other schools are nearly as secretive about this stuff. I'm sure it's in the public domain, anyway; so, why not report it. I can't believe that we can't get better and timely information about the Zips' premier sports team! What a joke (but NOT FUNNY)!

Beyond sad because it's so easy? The sad part is Browns fans who keep shelling out money year after year buying 'hope' and not demanding real progress. New uni's = more hope and diversion. How about the buffoons in Berea concentrate on the freakin' draft and getting it right for once in about 50 years. It's not just that an expansion team sucks, the Browns have sucked for about 50 years. Yeah, they had a few close calls, but where's the SuperBowl appearance?
