  1. Yes sir... 1995 to 2004, according to this...https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kentucky_Wildcats_men's_soccer
  2. I didn't quote and/or respond to everything thus far, but I think this is a great discussion with a lot of great points. I'm extremely happy to see and read all of the posts.
  3. As you were typing, I was posting...see above. Lol
  4. As far as the MAC CotY, my bet is that Jared doesn't find much meaning in it anyway. That award is given before the post season and is only based on Conference games as far as I can tell. It is meaningless. 3 College Cup appearances in 2015, 2017, and 2018 and no MAC CotY award in any of those seasons? ...hahaha. No other MAC coach even comes close to Jared, including 2013, 2014, and 2016. I'm certain 2019 is an anomaly. As far as leaving the MAC, that is one option. The other is to do as buflobo has been touting for sometime...get other good teams, such as Kentucky to join. We already have a Big 12 member in WVU. SIUE joined recently. Last year the MAC had a good RPI. We could build upon it.
  5. Totally agree. I think I posted a number of times throughout the season that I was certain the coaching staff was doing everything they could to get things going in the right direction. This is also to the point I was trying to make above about being humble, looking at things with an open mind to get to the root of what worked and didn't work, making the needed adjustments, and moving forward. Hopefully, even with the university's financial woes, Jared and staff will continue to get the needed support for recruiting, etc. to continue our tremendous Akron Men's Soccer tradition.
  6. Yes, someone else said it...Thank you. I hope we do not do that again. We need to reflect on both seasons, ask the hard questions, make necessary adjustments and move forward.
  7. By the way, it was awesome to see some of our recent former players make it back to Akron. Always a pleasure to see them...Ezana Kahsay, Niko De Vera, Abdi Mohammed, Marcel Zajac, Reggie Laryea. Also Stuart Holthusen who is taking graduate classes at Akron and our numerous alumni who are season ticket holders or regular attendees. Sorry if there were others whom I did not get to see.
  8. And once again we get to pay for the overzealousness of a referee throwing around unwarranted red cards by one of our players sitting out the first match next season due to stupid NCAA soccer rules. If they're going to have such a rule, then they need to at least allow for an appeal of the card.
  9. How does anyone get a red card going for a 50 / 50 ball and being injured. Interesting that neither Zips or BGSU twitter would even indicate that a red card was given, and the announcer said nothing. Awful!!!
  10. Thanks Skye Harter, Chris Lue Young, Leonard Sohn, and Tom Smart for coming to Akron. Once a Zip, Always a Zip! It was my pleasure supporting all of you and the 2019 Zips Men's Soccer Team. So sorry that it turned out the way it did but happy that I was there for all of it. There is no team for me but Zips Men's Soccer! Looking forward to hearing about all those who are joining for 2020 and to Spring Soccer. Go Zips!!!
  11. Yes, be thankful we aren't yet paying a stupidity tax/fee or $5 a car to help make up for the lost revenues at Infocision and the JAR. Never mind the great accommodations for Soccer fans with disabilities to get from Lot 9 or Lot 39 (including blocked sidewalk) to First Energy Stadium to watch UA's premiere team in person.
  12. https://www.ajc.com/sports/atlanta-united-likely-mostly-quiet-mls-trade-window/EBkaLd7BtDPD7SVq3vXsIL/# Sending Darlington Nagbe to Columbus is expected to be Atlanta United’s only activity in the MLS trade window, which closes Wednesday. ...
  13. I believe that yesterday (Monday, 11/11/19) was the first day that trades could officially be made, but I've not seen any official announcement yet. Edit: According to this, https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2019/11/11/offseason-begins-monday-two-day-trade-window-2020-mls-season, this is only a "2-day trade" window that started yesterday at 1 pm ET and closes Wednesday, 11/13/19 at 8 pm ET. If the Darlington Nagbe trade is a done deal, we should get confirmation soon.
  14. Another, interesting interview... Big interview: DeAndre Yedlin
  15. Congratulations again to Zips legend Simon Spelling...
  16. Me...I'm going to sit back, watch and enjoy some good soccer with a number of Zips and NEO connections.. Saad Abdul-Salaam is on the SoundersFC roster but has not been in the 18 during for the last few playoff matches. Steve Zakuani is an analyst for the SoundersFC in addition to his playing career with them. Add that Drew Carey is a part owner to complete their NEO connections. Of course, I will be rooting for and happy to see Richie do well on the field. He has had a great season with TorontoFC and has also played well for the Canadian MNT. Like in 2015, I will enjoy this MLS Cup Final, whichever way it goes.

  19. Fixed it. Thanks @ZipsVoice I was in a rush to go out and pile leaves of all things. Ha!
  20. WMU and SIUE tied 1-1 this afternoon. That leaves the door open to NIU to claim the #2 seed with a win at BGSU tonight at 7 pm EST. Current MAC standings are Seed Team Points MAC Record 1. Akron 10 (4-0-1) 2/3 WMU 8 (2-1-2) 3/4 SIUE 8 (2-1-2) 2/4/5 NIU* 6 (2-2) [2 seed with a win; 4 seed with a tie; 5 seed with a loss] 4/5 BGSU* 3 (1-3) [4 seed with a win; 5 seed with a loss or tie] 6. WVU 1 (0-4-1) *Play head to head at 7 pm EST tonight. I added seeding possibilities if I understand the tiebreakers. (WMU tied us; SIUE lost to us. I think that puts WMU ahead of SIUE)
