  1. I also love the comment on BigSoccer.com from our very own buflobo... "Our long national nightmare is over. You are welcome." [referring to Stanford's run of College Cup Championships.] Well said my friend!
  2. The one thing that former AD Tom Wistrcil did right in his UA tenure was hire Jared Embick as Caleb Porter's successor. So glad we followed the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mantra. Our Zips Men's Soccer program is reaping the rewards.
  3. Including the entire build up!!!
  4. The watch party was awesome. If you’re local and couldn’t travel to Stanford, it was the best place to be. Cheering and celebrating with other Zips fans. Zips Athletics put up some videos on their Instagram. Well done and many thanks UA!!!
  5. @TennZip Thanks for posting all of these great articles. I've been a bit pre-occupied with work and family and not as able to keep up with all of this as I would like. Our team deserves so much attention. I wish I could have traveled to Stanford, but it just wasn't possible with other commitments. The team knows we are with them and support them, and I'm certain our posts here and on other social media let them know we are with them. I'd also like to say that I completely agree with your comments about the watch party at the JAR tonight. Many thanks to the University of Akron and the UA Athletics Department for putting it together. Other than being at the match in person at Stanford, there is no better place locally to watch this match than with our players who didn't travel and with other Zips Men's Soccer fans. I know a few fans who are traveling to Stanford. I hope others, of whom I'm not aware, are traveling and that there will be Zips alumni and fans in California who are able to attend. We had a nice group of fans at Wake Forest who congregated together to support our team and each other and to ensure we were heard. Hopefully, the same will occur at Stanford. GO ZIPS!!!

  7. https://gozips.com/schedule.aspx?path=mbball Men's Basketball is at 5 pm Saturday unless you're somewhere out in the Atlantic Ocean. Edit: Women's Basketball is at 2 pm Saturday. https://gozips.com/schedule.aspx?path=wbball
  8. May be coming back... http://www.krwg.org/post/house-democrats-commit-reinstating-unm-men-s-soccer-program?fbclid=IwAR2cYFolN4cuVL2N8msWfPvlKDdDFaHX6Z927zlSHGn6hbtwerv50ttFPaY credit buflobo with finding this article.
  9. Carlo will always be ours. Once a Zip, Always a Zip!!!
  10. @VAZip Always a pleasure to meet a Zips fan. Enjoyed rooting for our team with you and all the Zips fan in attendance at Wake Forest. Hope your trip home was uneventful. Hope to see you at a future Zips match. @72 Roo So glad you and your family made it down to Wake Forest. Always a pleasure! Great group of Zips fans in attendance. So glad we all sat together to collectively cheer our team. Pleasure to see Michael Nanchoff and Brad Ruhaak among the Zips faithful.
  11. It did happen to Akron at Charlotte in 2011 when Matt Dagilis scored the tying goal. It was waived off for his being offside. To this day, I don’t think he was offside from any view.
  12. Safe travels. See you there. Go Zips!!!
  13. Brett, Tim, and their assistants do a great job keeping the Zips healthy and well-conditioned.
  14. ...The Zips also feature Morgan Hackworth (4g, 4a), the son of former Deacon player and assistant coach John Hackworth, now head coach of Louisville City FC in the USL. ...
  15. The one thing I would like to see change about the NCAA sub rule is that once a player has been on the field and taken out, that player should not be allowed to return. Allow all the subs you want up to the number available on the bench, but not allow them to exit and re-enter. College baseball does this just like pro baseball. Why can’t collegiate soccer at least do that. More players can be allowed to play, but like in the pros, the teams/players with better fitness have the advantage that they should.
  16. Whether anyone agrees or not, NCAA rule is that a game that goes to PKs is recorded as a tie unless it is the National Championship game. TDS and others should reflect records per the NCAA rules for consistency.
