  1. Per you tube, Bryan McClendon Oregon's offensive assistant will be the Head Coach for the Ducks in the Alamo Bowl.
  2. I do like your Z logo with the chromed helmet to. I also liked the yellow/gold helmet with the moving A worn when Gerry Faust was our coach in 1986 to 1994.
  3. It was announced today Feb 1st on the Malone university athletic website that they are discontinuing football immediately as part of a restructuring process designed to eliminate $2.5million structural deficit over the next two years. The decision will eliminate expenses of approximately $1million annually.
  4. I'm like you 3rd&twenty, never went to UA, but robotically was a seasons ticket holder for football for years. I followed the Zips because they were my hometown team.
  5. Could the lack of attendance be attributed to the Zips playing on TV every home game?
  6. If your coming up north to Akron on I-77 through Canton, at exit 118 (Massillon Road) there is the Cambria Suites & Hotel. At exit 120 (Arlington Road) you'll find five hotels. 1. Comfort Inn Akron 2873 S. Arlington Rd. 2. Red Roof Inn South Akron 2939 S. Arlington Rd 3. Hampton Inn South Akron 880 Arlington Ridge East 4. Residence Inn by the Marriott Akron 897 Arlington Ridge East 5. Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites 898 Arlington Ridge East The University and stadium are 3-4 miles north of exit 120. When heading north you'll come across a central interchange with the sign that says I-77 West, don't follow it. You want to keep going straight on (Route 8 Cuyahoga Falls). After the interchange you want to get off at the first exit which is Buchtel Ave. At the light, go left over the bridge and make a left at the next light, and the stadium will be on the right.
  7. I was at the game also. Very exciting game, and great catch in the end zone. Wish him luck.
  8. Zips can win if they can cut down on the turnovers, and can tackle.
  9. WMU also has struck a chord with coaches. Brian Callahan is the assistant coach/offensive line, and Luke Getsy has been hired as an assistant coach/wide receivers.
  10. Yeah, and in 2011 Cincy lost to Tennessee 45-23.
  11. Great Hire!! Now I'll be able to see a winning team before I'm deceased!
  12. Give coach three to five years, so that we can be just like the Browns. Never have a winning team.
  13. He played at Hickory High School in Hermitage Pa. He's a RB/CB 6'0' 190lbs. There was no other information on him.
  14. Happy New Year to all!Football Scoops says that Mitch Browning will not be going to Notre Dame, because he does have an offer to join the staff at Akron.
  15. 3-3-5 was JD's decision. His thought was that the MAC played a lot of spread offense, and the 3-3-5 was the best way to stop it.Sticking with that decision throughout his entire time with Akron was his worst decision IMO, and one of the reasons he is no longer here.I'm sure JD will land on his feet somewhere, he is a hard worker. I wish him and his family nothing but the best. JD Brookhart is being interviewed for a position at Cincinnati Bearcats.
  16. I also voted for him to come to Akron, but it would be hard to pass up South Beach in Miami.
  17. Zips win 62-30 over Malone!
  18. Yes I agree also, it's not what we expected. I told TW what we needed was a HC or a defensive coordinator with experience. I read somewhere that Urban Meyer came out of Notre Dame as a wide receiver coach with no HC experience. So anything can happen, hopefully positive.Welcome to Akron Rob!
  19. Another one to consider is...Bob Diaco defensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bearcats. The Bearcats lost 10 defensive starters from last year, and their still undefeated.
  20. Chuck Martin the Head Coach from Grand Valley State would be my choice. In six years, his team has won 2 National Championships, four GLIAC Conferance titles. Grand Valley State has a current 40 game winning streak. His record in six years is 61-5 (.924). He has a 13-3 playoff record. He is the winningest active DII Head Coach in the country. He also succeded Brian Kelley as the Head Coach. Last year many MAC schools were after his service, but he refused all of them, because they were not offering him enough money. His salary is $150,000.
  21. The only way the Zips will beat CM, will be if they have a letdown, after an emotional win against Michigan State.
