Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the Zips playing UNC Asheville as we speak? Not sure what OK State has to do with today's game. Also, I didn't realize a 15 point game was a close game.
-
it's not about being okay with losing. Are you going to complain if we end the game up by 3? because we should have won by 8 or 9?
-
dude, seriously. Go root for Kent.
-
Up 59-40 with just over 3 minutes to go. Get your overrated chants ready.
-
I don't see us over looking them. This is our first opportunity to come out and kick some ass after our snubbing. I expect a 2-0 or 3-0 win.

please leave. Zips showing some fight!

My Take on NCAA Selection
bUAkronG replied to GeorgeThomasABJ's topic in Akron Zips NCAA Championship Soccer
very well written. -
consider it done! How was the FatHeads Christmas Ale??? I have never had it. Excited to get Ohio Brewing Co's Jingle Bell Ale! I picked up a 4 pack of these as per your suggestion Keen!! My fancy pic: Love how thick it pours. Just like a good stout should!!

how do you know I haven't been traveling to and from Cali?? Glad you appreciate my taste. I like to think it is pretty good. The Pliny was pretty amazing. I didn't think so the first one I had, but the second one was incredible. So good. had this last night

For the record, I don't fit into any of those three categories I am a relatively new Zips fan(post 2005) who is cautiously optimistic about the direction of the program. I like to think I have a decent knowledge of football. Saturday was unbelievably disheartening to watch, yet, like you and others, I will be watching next Tuesday in hopes for something positive to end the season on. Fret not, Zips fans. It will be worth the heartache once it all plays out for us.

NCAA Tournament Opponent Wish List
bUAkronG replied to UAZipster0305's topic in Akron Zips NCAA Championship Soccer
This just fires me up something fierce. How can the NCAA justify putting UConn at a 4 seed? Coaches Poll has them at #6 and RPI puts them at #7. Where do they get a #4 out of that? Whereas Akron is #1 in the Coaches Poll and #2 in the RPI.... yet somehow that equates to a #5 seed? I just want some justification. Regardless, you play the hand you're dealt. I hope we go out and win convincingly 6-0 every game. Nothing says 'I told you so' to the NCAA more than a victory in the cup. -
I don't see it. I agree that OU is overrated(and I called that Miami win last week), but EMU is downright terrible. And OU will be hungry after their loss to Miami last weekend. I wouldn't be surprised if OU covers the spread of 17 on this one.

Also Keener.... Sorry I haven't been able to make it out to any tailgates... Because I wanted to bring you some of this... Ever had it?? It's considered the God of beers lol

That Imperial Stout looks delicious... Wow. here's pics of what I've drank lately... this one was so good.....

Actually surprised by this as I feel like N. Illinois is a better team than OU. 14 points seems about right for me. Here's hoping I'm wrong! Go Zips!!

To me, a good recruiter wouldn't have a problem recruiting now. Think of it this way: you are a high school senior looking at his options for post-secondary education. TB comes to you and says "Look at how close we were to picking up some wins in these games. How would you feel about being the one who puts us over the top and seals a game for us? Being the one who wins the game for us in the last minute. One thing is for sure, if you put in the work and effort, you have a great chance of playing for us next year. I am not afraid to start true freshman! That could be you. Come be a part of the Akron Zips and be one of the ones who helps us turn the corner. Believe in us like we believe in you." I for one might have to look into that if I were a HS recruit.
-
No, but the second we start to lose you are the first person to complain. We aren't a perennial dynasty. In fact, we have been a perennial loser. I for one am willing to give it time. It will be worth it when we turn the corner.

You are a delusional pessimist.

Ugh. Have a good drive going only to throw a pick. Is our offensive line that poor that they are able to get pressure on our QB rushing only 3?
-
dang it, I don't like it when opposing fans come here and form intelligent posts. It's a shame.

I see +925 right now

I am still about as shell shocked as the defense was to start the second half. unreal.

I know the game isn't played on paper, but on paper BG doesn't look all that impressive. Schilz had a great year last year. 28 touchdowns to 13 picks. However this year he has struggled(stat wise, I haven't caught any of their games), throwing just 3 touchdowns to 4 INTs. 2 of his 3 touchdowns came in their win over FCS opponent Rhode Island last week. On the road, Schilz is only completing 51.8% of his passes with no TDs and 3 picks. At home, Williams is completing 70% of his passes for 9 touchdowns and 3 picks. Also, their rushing attack isn't all that spectacular either. Their leading rusher averages 5.5 ypc with 377 rushing yards. Chisolm averages 5.5 ypc with 398 yards. The difference comes in TDs, where Samuel has 7 TDs(3 of which he scored last weekend) compared to Chisolm's 2, which he scored last weekend against Miami. As a team BG averages 4.5 ypc for a total of 665 yards. UA averages 4.3 for a total of 653 yards. Going by just stats alone, I'll take our offense over theirs any day of the week. Defensively there may be some differences. Their pass defense is 41st in the country, only allowing 208 yards a game, and their rush defense is 52 only allowing 139 yards a game. Respectively, ours allows 279 and 193 yards a game. Overall offensively we put up 492 yards of offense to their 371 yards(25th and 89th nationally). Overall defensively we allow 473 yards to their 348(105th to 38th). Statistically, this should be a good game. Our high powered offense versus their well-rounded defense. Their average offense against our poor defense. I dunno, but I think we might hit the over again. I'm going with a Zips victory, 42-38.

I posted something similar in the other thread, but officials should not play a part in the outcome of the game. Sure, our defense played horrifically, but we were penalized for two clean hits during the biggest drive the game. Akron- 10 penalties for 87 yards Miami- 3 penalties for 19 yards And I still want an explanation of why the pass interference was able to be reviewed. I understand the right call was made in the end, but I really didn't think you could review a penalty. I understand they can't call perfect game every time, but I don't like seeing the officials on the Miami sideline being the ones making those questionable calls.
-
I understand refs aren't going to make every call, but when they start affecting the game I have a problem. We have had 6 personal foul penalties alone to Miami's 3 penalties for 19 yards.
