  1. because the NFL and college games are completely similar too
  2. It should be even better in our 25,000 seat stadium.there will be 30,000 fans there no? do i have to state the exact number in seats? i hear 14 big shots might actually be laying on the couch in their suites too.
  3. Rumor has it you may get your wish.lol i set myself up for that one.
  4. Friday night on ESPN2. any chance of Dickie V being in the house? what a showcase for UA, and the MAC. a packed house in front of probably the biggest game of the year for UA, Can't, and the conference. So many good things are happening here, i never want to graduate!
  5. i would argue that most of the fans that come for football games are loud. basketball, not so much.
  6. wonder if this means the end zone student seating is sold out also...5500 students is f'in awesome. but 8500 is ridiculously sweet. in a 30,000 seat stadium, that's deafening. can't wait! lets go zips!!!kinda puts things in perspective. last year i was pumped when we had ~1500 students for the last game. multiply that by 3 and add some = our worst case scenario right now
  7. maybe it's just me, but i hate miami's campus. every building looks the same. it's beautiful place don't get me wrong, but after awhile, when every building is the same, it just gets stale i guess.
  8. That's funny, Darryl Clark and Evan Royster must be the only QB and RB on the team then...-I was very impressed with the run defense. I fully expected Royster to go off for 200+ and a few td's, with Stepgon Green(e?) adding about 100 more yards.
  9. 1st play- 80 yard post to bowser.2nd play- PAT
  10. Zach, I found the article to be extremely respectful. Coach Harris showed a lot of class in how he characterized his interaction with JoePa. I will post the link on the PSU football board at CBSSports as soon as I can -- you can check fan reaction there.BTW, one major reason why Penn State wanted a 2 and 1 with Pitt starting in 2001 was Pitt's inability to fill Heinz Field, which is -- what? -- capacity of 56,000 or something like that. Penn State had (I think) just expanded Beaver Stadium again, and our capacity was almost double that of Heinz. As you can imagine, Penn State football supports a lot of other non-revenue sports, so playing at an unfilled Heinz Field was not cost-effective. Shame to kill a rivalry over $$, but that's the way of the world . . . . (FYI: A home game for Penn State garners almost $4M in revenue.)And, last I heard, Pitt was forcing people to buy tix to three games just to get access to one marquee game. That's like a car dealer telling me I HAVE to purchase the 8-track player and cassette deck in order to get Sirius radio. I don't think so . . . . Just a few more days!!!You're out of your mind if you think Heinz Field wouldn't sell out for a Pitt-PSU game. Not only would it be the hottest ticket in town, even if Pitt fans didn't sell it out, there would be many PSU fans, a lot who live in Western PA, would would snatch up tickets in no time. The rivalry was killed when Pitt turned down Joe Pa's offer to join the All-East (could be wrong on the conference name) to join the Big East in all sports. He's still bitter to this day about it, and quite frankly, the teams won't meet again until he's done.
  11. Exactly= the watch party is at Beaver Stadium!!!see you guys on the 50 in the blue and white club! which we will of course turn into the blue and gold club.
  12. Right you are, Zach!Any updates on your team? I haven't heard much out of the ordinary from Happy Valley. Joe making his usual gloom-and-doom announcements. They don't get tiresome to us old-timers; oddly enough, they are mildly reassuring . . . I've applied on a new position at work. So far, I've had two telephone interviews and five face-to-face interviews. I have one more sit-down interview this Wednesday; if I make the cut, I will meet with the department heads and clinic chair. The folks doing the interviewing remind me of you Zips fans: Very thorough, very enthusiastic, very knowledgeable. Hope I am as successful in the continued interviews as my Lions are going to be against the Zips. I hope you're a little more successful than your nittany lions
  13. and then, we can have a guy named zipbuck go on OSU's boards and stick up for the Zips everytime they are made fun of. brilliant!
  14. ah i see what you mean.i was going to get the whole topic on the next page
  15. 200x50=$10,000 d'oh. i'm an accounting major too. don't let jupitertoo see this.
  16. maybe, just maybe, it cost money to set this thing up? and the 50 dollars will go towards setting it up? could that be? they'll be lucky to get around 200 people I would say. 1000 bucks isn't a very big 'fundraiser.' and considering the fact that the people that will actually show up probably donate much more than 50 dollars to the University, I doubt that this is a fundraiser. I think it's a nice classy event, be happy you get to experience the place before others. and be thankful the University is finally acting like it gives a damn about the fans.
  17. http://www.gozips.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_...TCLID=204779191FSN will run a 30 minute show on the stadium- 10 times! seems like a good idea. Also mentions UA will have a tour of the stadium next saturday. players will be there to sign autographs, and concessions will be open.6,000 season tickets sold so far...
  18. Played baseball against Astorino. He was the top basketball player at McLane, top football player, and a hell of a baseball player. no surprise he went D-1 anywhere.
  19. got 6 tickets in the blue and white club on the fifty. i have connections but it will soon be the blue and gold club
  20. I think a better idea is just letting the first 5500 in. but the ticket policy should work just fine.
  21. eh the ticket policy works just fine for the Can't bball game. that doesn't scare anyone away. be thankful, most other schools with a stadium like this probably charge you 200 bucks for your season tickets.
  22. The creamery is way overrated imo. RU Hungry, however, is not.
  23. Give it up dude, no one's replied to this thread in a week. you beat it to death, and you're still going.
  24. Lafrance caught 3 passes in today's scrimmage. so cross one off that list.
  25. Good catch. Well done....haha I mean no offense, but you all look pretty stupid calling it the forward.
